    I used to have this habit of weighing myself pre-and-post-poop.

    I once lost FIVE POUNDS that way.

    I eat a lot of protein and fiber.

    But it comes right back once I eat more.

    As silly as this topic can be, it is an important health issue. I think I'd see another dr or make sure your current dr. realizes how bad this is. Sometimes I don't mention a problem in enough detail for anyone to realize that it really is a problem.

    It looks like you need to eat more fruits and veggies. Are your pasta and bread 100% whole grain? Prunes would be a good thing. I would drink more water too. Water often help you go. Take colace, it is a stool softener that draws water to your poop and makes it easier to pass. It is gentle enough for babies and there doesn't seem to be any reason why you can't take it regularly. Real black licorice can help too.

    Why did you weigh yourself before and after pooping?

    cuz someone place a electronic scale in the bathroom at the gym. Now that is just a challenge.

    It seems easy enough to collect it. Just get one of those toddler training toilets and put a bag in it and then just grab the bag and put it on the scale.

    Not me..I'm doing just fine. It's a helpful tip for our 3 lb/once a week pooper.

    Lol!! This is a funny thread...Shannon I am the same way, only go 1-2 times per week. After a bm, I am usually 1-2 pounds lighter in weight as well. ;-)

    I didn't read all 12 pages but OP, my BFF has the same problems, she even went 16 days one time. She had a colonoscopy, tests and was on meds, fiber, laxatives. Nothing worked. She started taking Swiss Kriss and is not an every other to every two day'er. Silly enough she heard about it on a Kardashian episode but it works.

    Oh God, I cannot imagine not going for a week. I find just a few days leaves me really bloated and full. Fortunately, I am a once a day person, and it is always after getting up and having a cup of coffee. I do remember one occasion I did not go for about 10 days +, because I was constipated, and my partner at the time told me some scare story about how he once pooped and bled a lot, and I basically became afraid of pushing and so the issue got worse and worse.

    Ended up having to go to the hospital to have some help releasing the unfortunate turd.
    Needless to say, one of the nurses in the room turned green and had to leave the room. I now make sure to have plenty of fruit and vegetables, and prunes if I have any issues...oh, and I pay less heed to scare stories.
