LEo- your dinner sounded so YUM!!!! and o, the brownies  .......can always count on you to keep it lively and delicious!! i tried the atkins choc cake, which turned out good except that it had a wierd after taste- i'm guessing it was from the splenda :ohwell: LOL!! so i'm going to be experimenting for a sub that will keep it low cal low carb like i need it to be!! lolol...saw something about using pumpkin in choc recipes too on the hungry girl site (some nice stuff on there btw all).......

anyone got suggestions for a sweet substitute? :embarassed: it calls for unsweetened choc and so i need something to fix that up  was thinking maybe honey but think that may weigh it down....sugar free syrup? lol.... help:drinker:

TOM- i NEED chocolate! i just ate my treat for the day after my boot camp class - a piece of sorbee sugar free, 0 carb chocolate- heaven! LOL! decided to up my 1200 cal regimen to 1400, along with having my carbs at 20-30grams to see if i'll get a loss sometime soon:glasses: i'd like to continue being a big loser!!!

flying to see my BF on friday so will be intransit all day.... eeek! :noway: looking forward to the trip tho:happy: havent seen him in 3months so hopefully he's pleasantly surprised with my small success (OR notices even :grumble: lol) he knows about my hard work at it b/c i've been updating him lol... and encouraging him to get into the better "lifestyle" changes too! *thumbs up*...i mean, what's he gonna do when i'm all done if he cant keep up with me!! teehheee  sooo.......taking some nuts with me to snack on (airport security checkpoint allowable item ) maybe some cheese cubes too. (i'm a cheese lover) lol.... was hoping to get my "cake" baked to take a slice with me to snack on :frown:

any low carb suggestions?? not sure about the timing on my getting to quality food/snacks...... so better safe with snacks than sorry with missing meals throughout the day and completely wrecking my plan!!! ......:flowerforyou:

    thought for today:
    "Reaching Your Dream Takes Courage

Courage is admitting that you're afraid and facing that fear directly.
It's being strong enough to ask for help and humble enough to accept it.
Courage is standing up for what you believe in without worrying about the
    opinions of others.
It's following your own heart, living your own life, and settling for nothing less than the best for yourself.
Courage is daring to take a first step, a big leap, or a different path.
It's attempting to do something that no one has done before and all others thought
    impossible.
Courage is keeping heart in the face of disappointment and looking at defeat
not as an end but as a new beginning.
It's believing that things will ultimately get better even as they get worse.
Courage is being responsible for your own actions and admitting your own
mistakes without placing blame on others.
It's relying not on others for your success, but on your own skills and efforts.
Courage is refusing to quit even when you're intimidated by impossibility.
It's choosing a goal, sticking with it, and finding solutions to the problems.
Courage is thinking big, aiming high, and shooting far.
It's taking a dream and doing anything, risking everything, and stopping at nothing to it make it a
    reality!!!

we all had the courage to begin, to join this group, to keep our mind at it when everything gets against us so we will make our goals a reality no matter what!!! Go low carbers!!! woooT!!!!!!!!:flowerforyou:

    sorry for the long post:embarassed:

keep up the great work all!!!!! happy wednesday!!!!!!!

    Good morning fellow Low Carbers.............

I just finished mopping my kitchen floor and vacuuming the livingroom and running the feather duster over the end tables a little bit...............

I am going to try and do Billy Blanks Tae Bo this morning. I may be in pain the rest of the day, LOL......

Supper was fabulous last night. I ended up not having a brownie, but my hubby sure did. I made myself a "root beer" float. I purchase a natural rootbeer called Zevia. It is made with Stevia and I put it in the freezer until it was slushy and then poured it in a glass. Added a splash of heavy cream and give it a light whirl with a spoon. It is very yummy.

I am going to make an egg cream for breakfast this morning. I will let everyone know how it tasted.

    Hola, Low Carb Chiquitas!

Happy Hump Day! Did day #2 of C25K - still only doing the walk/powerwalk thing instead of walk/run, but burned about 300 calories, so I'm happy w/ that. I'll get there - it'll be a slow process, but I WILL get there!

Feeling much better after my IBS flareup - more back to normal, pretty much. Lots of great posts on this thread! I'm glad to see such motivation, honesty, and support here. HANNAH - the fact that you took the time to enter ALL your off-plan choices in your food diary shows that you are COMMITTED to getting back on plan. Wowza, yeah, you went way off plan - but you had a pretty damn good excuse, and you're getting right back on the wagon. WTG!

LEO - what is an egg cream? It sounds yummy.....

CLASSIC - where do you get that Sorbee 0 carb choc bar? Is it 0 total carbs, or 0 net carbs? I'm interested!

SASSY - Lady, thanks for the charts! I agree w/ everyone here, I KNOW how much work it is to keep that stuff up - THANK YOU for taking time outta your day to keep us all on track!:flowerforyou:

Hannah.....you are too funny! I love reading your posts!! Get back on the wagon and hope your tongue feels better!!

LEO --- let us know how you feel after Billy Blanks gets hold of ya!

RES --- Congrats on your 2nd day of the Couch to 5k. I just don't think it's for me....I was so sad I only burned 93 calories!!! not worth it...LOL! And, I know my Polar F6 HRM is accurate for counting calories burned. I can do things I like better and burn more calories. And, NOT look like a cartoon character in slo-mo at the park! LOL GOOD FOR YOU!! You go girl!

ClassiC --- thanks for the Courage quote. NEEDED that right now!!

I was UP a pound today...and don't know why. VERY frustrated right now...feelin' like eating the entire kitchen...but I won't. Perhaps it's TOM since it should be time....but who knows with me. Going to hop in shower and try to gather my usual cheery mood for the day!! Back later......:grumble:

Well, I am so out of shape that I could only do part of it without being severly out of breath. Now my legs feel like mush and are going to be sore, sore, sore tomorrow, or later today. Ugh!!!

Oh well, no pain, no gain. Right? I also did the stretching portion of my Pilates cd. So, that helped some what.

    Hey!

in the chocolate aisle at the supermarket:blushing: it's 0 net - it shows the calculation breakdown on the package per the sugar alcohol....it's 190cal too. i try not to have it too often b/c i've read the alcohols as sugar replacements can stall weight loss (LIKE I NEED MORE OF THAT:grumble: ) but ok in moderation, as with all things and helped that chocolate craving during TOM! lol...:flowerforyou:

    go LEO!!!! woohoo you!!!

cheer up Sassy:flowerforyou: "Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!"

For anyone that is interested, here is the coconut oil I use...........

    coco152.jpg OR jar_coconut_large.gif

Also, for those of you that subscribe to Mark's Daily Apple, he was talking about Palm oil yesterday. I use this also, the Jungle brand. Here is what it looks like:

Thanks for the coconut oil pics....helps me out!!! :flowerforyou:

From PHOTOBUCKET.....all I do is copy the IMG code exactly as it is in photobucket....then paste it here in the thread BUT make sure you change the IMG on the front end and back end to small letters....just overtype the IMG in caps to img (small letters) and it will work just fine.
  • SassySouthernGirl

EXAMPLE: I TOOK THIS FROM YOUR EARLIER POST and changed the caps to small letters on the front and back end IMG to img. That's it.

    30.gif

AND IT WOULD HAVE WORKED BUT WHATEVER IMAGE THIS IS HAS SINCE BEEN DELETED FROM PHOTOBUCKET.

Thanks for the honesty in your story and sharing it. I read it at the right time because last night I had a meltdown/ backslide/ "old me appearance" and I didn't even have a tongue bar excuse. It helped me recommit that today will be a perfect day of food and exercise. Hope you jumped back on your wagon.

Sassy - You are amazing, thanks so much for taking the time to make us gorgeous charts!! :flowerforyou:

So ladies, I am going to share my learning experience *cough*failure*cough* with you. Last night I discovered that my tongue had grown over the bottom of the barbell of my tongue ring. I couldn't push it back through (tried... a lot) because the scar tissue was just too tough. So this morning I made a dentist appointment. They removed it just fine, but my tongue was swollen and painful afterward. I also hadn't eaten so that I could avoid the nauseous feeling I get when I get within 50ft of a dentist's office.

We then drove from the doctor to go get lunch before continuing on to visit family. Stopped at Mcdonald's and what did I order? 2 double cheeseburgers plain with no bread. Okay, not terrible. What else did I order? A small Mcflurry :embarassed: Then rationalized it based on the fact that the cold felt good in my mouth (which it did - my tongue stopped hurting!).

So we visited for a while then went out shopping, tongue started to hurt again. DH, wonderful and caring man that he is, bought me a Coke Icee from 7-11. He then proceeded to buy me another one a few hours later at Target because I could barely talk. Yes, the cold felt great but I was terrified (and more than a little sick to my stomach) from all the sugar.

So I nibbled and ate all sorts of things I shouldn't have today. What was the result, you ask?

Over Calories by: 1239 (I doubled what I actually should be having)
Over Carbs by: 298 (Holy crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) :noway:
    Over Sugar by: 155
Fat, Protien & Sodium are all right on or a little under.

So if you ever feel guilty about having that little piece of chocolate or a sip of wine, just think of me and feel better! Because what am I going to do? 1) Not eat anything else tonight & drink LOTS of water 2) Hop right back on the bandwagon tomorrow.

Nothing can stop you ladies, not even 300+ carbs!! :drinker:

I got mine from my Neighborhood Coop. But I have used the Hershey's cocoa before and it is just as good.

Ohhhhh BAMABABY.....Nooooooo Mario Kart probably doesn't burn a whole heck of a lot of calories!! LOL however I do get carried away with my little 'air' steering wheel and I jump around a lot ...so that's moving. I should do the step and some of the things with my handy dandy polar f6 heart rate monitor on...it'll tell me how many calories I'm burning then I can tell you. Of course, it's programmed for my old age and weight...but it shouldn't be too far off...since we're not all THAT far apart.....HA!
