    Hey guys,
I have been searching everywhere for a good banana muffin recipe for a while, because I LOVE banana bread and wanted something similar. After searching and finding no luck, or what i did find was disgusting and tasted like cardboard, lol, I decided to create my own and I think they came awesome. If you like banana bread, you'll love these. So I wanted to share the recipe here.

    Ingredients:
1 cup mashed banana (usually 2 small VERY VERY ripe bananas)
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 cup flour
    1/2 cup old fashioned oats
3 tablespoons all while liquid egg whites, or 1 large egg white
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1/4 cup cinnamon applesauce
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    1/4 cup of sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a muffin pan or use liners ( I found when you don't use the liners they come a little smaller and flatter). Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Bake until golden brown about 15-20 minutes..makes 12 muffins

You can top with some fat free cream cheese, they are delicious. If you want you can add chocolate chips or peanut butter or even walnuts, of course that would change the nutrition but do whatever you like. After entering my recipe into MFP here is the nutrition:

    Makes 12
    Serving: 1 muffin

    Calories: 72. Fat: 0. Protein: 2. Carb: 11. Fiber: 1. Sugar: 3

Hope you guys like them. :)

Thank you! I was going to make banana bread but was worried about the calories so I think I will try this instead  I don't have cinnamon applesauce but do you think if i just add cinnamon to my apple sauce that might work?

I'm going to give these a try. I may substitute splenda granules for the sugar, which would bring the calories even lower!!!! Thanks for coming up with this!

sounds great....is the flour all purpose or self rising?

It's all purpose flour .. you can even cut out the flour all together for those of you watching your carb intake and just use all oats..although the consistency won't be much like banana bread but hey, if it tastes good, who cares
