When I started with MFP back in November, I would hit the 10K step goal about once every three days, on average. This was partly due to lack of stamina, but more because I would often blow off the daily exercise routine. When I realized this was significantly slowing down my weight-loss progress, I decided I needed to renew my commitment to hitting my daily walking goal. May was the first month that I hit the 10K goal every single day. So now that I've done it, I need to raise the bar a bit.

I've got a number of goals for June.

Daily: A minimum of 12K steps and 10K aerobic steps every single day.
Monthly: I'm shooting for roughly a 10% increase in my cumulative totals from the month of May.
Other: Complete at least two 10-mile walks during the month. (I'm thinking about signing up for a walking half-marathon in the fall.)

    6/01: 17,754 steps; 11,873 aerobic steps (100 minutes); 8.12 miles

Thanks I appreciate the feedback. I have been looking at those watches that track multible things but I don't know im not excersise equipment savy lol

It pretty much depends on what you want to track.

I bought my Omron a couple of years ago - all I needed was steps, mileage and calories because all my exercise is done on the treadmill or walking outside. It was quite cheap compared to a lot of other equipment but it is reliable and reasonably accurate and it's still going strong. I *might* replace it with a Fitbit when it packs up on me because a few of my MFP buddies have them and say good things about them - or I may just get another Omron lol

If you think you're going to need something more sophisticated to track different types of exercise then HRM monitors are probably the way to go. There are lots of discussion threads about those, the Polar range seems to be very popular

 I have an Omron HJ-720ITC.......I've had it for over a year and I love it........it does all the usual stuff and can be connected to my computer to download the data so I can see my steps back to when I first got it....I can track averages for the week, month, year. and how my steps are spread out hour by hour during the day to see where my sit down and active times are.

    Daily Goal+17,000 steps
    My Daily Challenge+20,000 steps

    June 1-22,309

I'm leaving soon to drive two hours to an all day line dance workshop (8AM to 10PM) staying overnight and driving back tomorrow.

In again this month! Definitely gonna work harder!
This month has started out bad. Last Sunday, I woke up with pain in my left ankle.....don't know why. It has continued to hurt, so yesterday I went to the doctor. Basically, the ligament is inflamed. So I am wearing an air cast and need to rest it some. I still have the okay to do my lifting program. I will be resting over the weekend. But try to get back on track on Monday!

Awesome I have been looking at the fitbit also I like it because you can just throw it in your pocket and not worry about it. My pedometer is always falling off or I sit it on the counter and walk away from it all the time....... im ocd with a side of blonde :)
