Is there anyone on here not looking to be a size 2?

Only if you are a child. My daughter is 14, a size 0, and weighs 130 pounds. But she is solid muscle from being a ballet dancer and taking ballet classes 5 days a week.
I don't think size 2 is right for most adults, unless you have a super small build.
So apparently if we aren't a child, then we shouldn't be a 0,2 or 4? Awesome.
You did say a key thing though.. she has a lot of muscle. Muscle is smaller than fat.. so if you strip away the fat, and are just muscle then you prob. will fit into sizes smaller then you intend to.
Happend to me.. and I'm ok with it.0 -
Just want to look and be healthy, would be nice not to jiggle when I run! Size 2, no way0

...meaning i'm 5'5 and my goal weight is along the lines on 175, maybe 170, I see a lot of people on here who are my height and they are starting from 170 and trying to go down to 140-130. I'm not looking to be slim, just a more toned flatter stomach version of me? I always feel like the outsider on here, I feel like I have totally different goals. But I know its great to be different  .
I guess I'm just curious as to who else on MFP has a remain curvy goal? my worst fear is losing too much weight in an area I would not want to lose weight from -_-
Not sure a 5'5" female at 140lbs would be a size 2 to be honest. I am 5' 7" tall, 137lbs and am a size 10 (UK) - 6 (US). 1.2lbs to go to reach my goal here.0 -
lol, size what????????? Girl no size 2 is for 9th graders......I am a real woman!
I'm a size 2... and trust me, I'm a "real" woman (whatever the heck *that* is supposed to mean). I also happen to be only 5'2", so it works for me. I didn't set out to be that size -- in fact, when I started I thought I'd be happy fitting into a size 12 again. I couldn't care less about what my "size" is as opposed to how good I *feel*.
And I feel AMAZING!0 -
Check out http://www.mybodygallery.com ! At 44 5'5" & disabled I will be happy if I get below 150. It can be discouraging to see other people starting out at where you want to end but looking at that website just drives home the fact that we are all unique! Hang in there! Not to be obese or even overweight and in plus sizes will be so great. I don't knock anybody for where they feel good - I just cannot imagine personally trying to maintain a size 2. But time will tell - never say never! See what your doctor says. Since I had a stroke and my independence is pretty well shot, I realize how nmuch this is about health & not just asthetics.0

I am not looking to be a size 2. I just want to feel good about the way I look. I want to be toned and feel like my clothes fit me properly.0

I have never thought a thing about what size I want to be. But at 5'6 my original goal weight was 130,now its 140.What ever size I am then im cool with.0

Draenei bumms are too big for a Size 0. Besides, where will you fit your tail?
Shhhhh... don't give my secret away. Blizzard offers race change now0 -
I personally don't think the size of clothes you wear should define you. I've seen people post here that say that anyone who wears a double digit size is settling for being fat and I've seen people sneer at the size 0s and 2s.
I am at my first goal weight with my ultimate goal weight 13 lbs away. I am a comfortable size 12 and will likely be in a 10 when I reach my ultimate goal. Either way, I think I look good and I definitely feel good, and that's what matters to me.0 -
I am 5'2 and want to be around 140...Hopefully about a size 7...Right now I am 175ish and a size 120
-
I am 5'5", and a size 8/10. That's where I wanted to be at, and that's where I am at now. I dropped 72 lbs and I am extremely happy about that. If I would loose more the bones would start sticking out and my hubby would not be too happy....lol.0

Im taking my weight loss one dress size at a time, see how I feel about it....
But I have no intention of wanting to be a size 2! I love my curves, but dislike my jiggly walk!
So as soon as I reach a shape with the right balance of curve vs toned then Ill start with the maintenance.0 -
Most definitely NOT! Enjoying not being in the outsize dept any more but as to where I am going it is towards health & not bones!!0

No, I'm 5'9" goal 175 maybe size 10/120

I am NOT....I want to be able to fit into my old clothes from 2 yrs ago..40 lbs will get me there....HEALTHY AND FIT...:)0

Sometimes the clothing size just kind of picks you, you know? I'm a size 2 and at a healthy BMI for my height and perfectly fine. Did I start off wanting to be this size? No, just wanted to get into better physical condition, honestly. I have no trouble maintaining this and don't eat bird-like meals either. I'm not a stick but feel I look fit now. Just my two cents.0

What is a size 2 in the UK? I am 5'6" and aiming for 150 which is within the range for my height (114 -154). I am currently 170 down from 205. I know from experience that 146 is about as light as I can be without looking scrawny. I will retain curves but be slim at 150. That puts me at a size 14 top and size 10/12 bottoms - UK sizes. Given I was at 22 top and 18 bottoms when I started I am already pleased. Currently 16 and 12! This probably makes no sense but if anyone can convert to US I would be interested!
Looks like a Size 2 US is a Size 4 UK and so on. You can check it out at http://www.onlineconversion.com/clothing_womens.htm. They have a pretty cool Size converter.
Thanks Steffie!
According to that, you started at 20 top and 16 bottoms, US. And you are now 14 and 10, US.0 -

I too am 5'5" and my goal is 160, down from 189. I would be quite happy anywhere really between 175 & 160 if it meant i am actually in A shape other than round0 -
I want to get to a weight/build that will mean I no longer have to take diabetes medications, and I am healthy enough to be pregnant.
To me, I envision that being around 160 (on a 5'2" frame), however I'm going to see how things are around 175-180. I'm not sure what size that correlates to in terms of clothing, but I know it's not a size 2.0 -
ME!! Im looking to be about 160 and a size 10/12.0

yeah, my goal for now is a 10.....probably wouldn't go lower than a 8 though... :flowerforyou:
YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

I want to be healthy. Just because you are a size 2 doesn't mean you are healthy. I am with you on this...I still want my curves (in all the right places), to be healthy and tone...by eating right and excercising. Of course yesterday was a co-workers birthday and danishes were provided. All I can say is...I ate well beyond my suggested caloric intake  . Oh well, it will happen once in a while, just as long as I don't continue to eat like that every day. Best of luck to you!0

I am 5'5" also and bouncing around between 150-155 now and have met my goals. I would like to lose about 5-6 more lbs but not really worried if I don't, as long as I stay healthy. But even if I dropped to 130 I would not be a size 2. Not even close.0

Your post made me chuckle. I am a 44 year old woman. On January 12, 2012, I tipped the scales at 321 pounds!!! (I cried) I was in a size 30-32 pants. (I cried) Today, I am down to 264 lbs, in a size 26 pants, but even those are loose, but don't have the courage yet to squeeze into a size 24. When I graduated high school, I was 5 ft 9 and weight 145 pounds. Of course, I thought i was fat. I was in a size 12 pants cause I had nice "child bearing hips". I will never be a size 2, nor would I want that. My goal is to get down to 180, and even at that, I would still be considered "overweight". I am slowly working my way to that goal. I just want to be able to buy clothes off the rack that actually fit me, and not have to worry about wearing "frumpy" clothes. I want to be healthy and have my dr's crap themselves when they see how much weight I have lost! Baby steps.....I didn't get this sexy over night and it isn't going to come off over night. I personally think that people who are a size 2 don't look healthy at all. Stick with what YOU are comfortable with and don't let anyone tell you any differently. We are all beautiful in our own ways. Good luck to you! YOU CAN DO IT!!! Paula0

It may be cultural. White women tend to want to be much thinner than women of colour. I am not one of those white women..lol. but...most white women I know your height want to be 125, not 140. Weird huh? I dunno...I think Beyonce had the perfect body IMO...I see Uma thurman and think she looks sickly?
White women need to be taking lessons from our sisters of colour and love their cuves more IMO.
I'm her height & 140 would never do for me. Been there already. I carry most of my weight in my belly & my butt just isn't there. It barely was there when I 185. I could never look like Beyonce. I'm not a pear. It's hard for some ppl to get rid of their belly unless they go down 2 125lbs.
true...you have to work with your natural shape that's for sure. If you naturally are an apple...its much harder to look "thin".
My body is weird. I carry my weight in my belly, but I'm pretty sure I'm an hourglass. Ppl who have seen my pics, call me one. My waist is 29.5 & my hips are 38. Pretty sure that gap is too large to be an apple. But u def have to work with ur shape.
I am absolutely the same way. I carry most in the lower belly (and upper thighs). I am shooting for a goal where my belly is small enough!.0 -
I'm in the UK so your dress sizes don't mean anything to me but I'm heading for chunky rather than fat but have no wish to be thin.
Just add 4 onto the sizes to get the UK size:
US 2 = UK 6
US 4 = UK 8
etc, etc.
I think America also has odd-numbered sizes, but I've never been able to work out what they mean for the life of me.
The odd sizes are "juniors" clothing. Basically the stuff for aimed at teens and young adults. They basically line up between the even sizes, in the hips, but are cut straighter in the waist. So let's pretend a typical garment has a 10 inch gap for waist and hip, a juniors one will have about an 8 inch gap.0 -
I'm 5'4" 126lbs, I'm 6 on the bottom and 4 on top. I think its appropriate, I was a size 10 at 140lbs so its difficult for me to believe some of these stated heights and sizes here. I dont want to be any smaller but now that I'm at this size, I'd like to stay here.
There can be quite a range in weights/sizes. People can carry things really differently. Personally, size 12 = 180 for me, and I am a tiny bit taller than you. And just reading through the forums, I see people who weigh 30 pounds less or more than me and where my size. (So it is realistic to think a 10 would be in the 160s for me. And 140s would be 6-8)
It is always helpful to take a look at www.mybodygallery.com just to get an idea how different the same weight can look at the same height.0 -

I am 5"1. My wt. goal is 135. I don't know what size that would be b/c different people built differently. I don't want to be size 2.0
