So, after last night at the gym being asked "Aren't those weights too heavy for you? Bc that's the weight Im using"

Now, see... I would have taken that as a compliment.

My husband is proud as hell that I can lift "like a man."

Oh, so is my husband. I don't take that as a compliment because it was a pretty condescending thing for him to say. I am glad to take a compliment from someone any day.

"Why do you think you NEED to be strong?" asked one of my male coworkers once.
I guess he had a point. There's nothing in my life that requires any strength from me. I can always just ask my husband or some other man to do it all for me.
    /sarcasm

But please don't tell my husband that lifting weights will turn me into a guy. He doesn't know yet. Right now, he's still proud that I can do more pushups than he can.

I have literally heard every reason under the sun. Including "your uterus will fall out." True story. This is my mom's #1 concern.
Also that lifting weights will increase my testosterone levels to the point that I'll grow facial hair.
    And that I'll "bulk up".
And that "you'll never be as strong as a man anyway."

As I put down my 200lbs.
And put on a pair of jeans 2 sizes smaller than I used to be able to wear.

    1. Stop worrying what other people say and do.
    2. Lifting will make you grow a penis.
