I prefer hardwood because with alot of kids and grandkids carpet in my house after awhile starts looking like chocolate chip cookie dough. Not a good look for flooring......LOL

I have a lot of allergies, so I prefer pretty much anything to carpet. I like how stained concrete looks, but ceramic tile and hardwood floors beautiful too. Carpet just holds in too much dust and stuff underneath the pad.

Hardwood. But a little strip of carpet or runner is a-ok with me!

Hardwood throughout the house with the bathrooms and laundry room being in tile. Easier to keep clean.

There are entirely too many people here who missed the point. Please keep your kids and grandmother away from my carpet. Thanks. Also, GMF has been here. Thanks.

You know when I was a younger lad I only liked only hardwood floors in my house. However as I get older I tend to like just a little bit of carpet. Not much but just a little bit makes it look so much better.

Hardwood, because it's impossible to slide in your socks on carpet

Hardwood just seems so much more hygienic. Easier to clean and no chance of friction burns :)

Definitely marble floors. My last apartment had marble throughout and it look and felt great. If marble isn't an option, definitely go with a large, ceramic tile (laid on a diagonal, of course).
