    Definitely marble floors. My last apartment had marble throughout and it look and felt great. If marble isn't an option, definitely go with a large, ceramic tile (laid on a diagonal, of course).

    Another reason to not have carpet. Who wants to eat off a carpet, clean or dirty. You'd get lint in your mouth :sick:

    Hard wood. No static, and better if you have pets. Plus, they last forever.

    Yes.. MY point exactly.. Dirty carpet & floor = Dirty mouth..

    All of you saying that carpet is cleaner..I can't help but wonder what the hell you are doing on that carpen that is making it so dirty a little carpet shampoo won't clean. Perhaps I simply don't let enough people walk on my carpet. I will work on that.

    I think it is best to have some hardwood next to carpet...just seems to make for a happier home. :smile:

    I agree with this.


    I actually like a little of both. I vacuum and clean my house regularly so I am not going to obsess on what exactly is in my carpet. I'm tough like that. :)

    Oh I don't have ALOT of people walk on my hardwood.. I was saying that if u spill on carpet u have to blot it up with hardwood its just one good swipe..

    Hardwood on the well traveled areas (easier to clean), and carpet in bedrooms and livingroom (soft of the feet).:smile:

    Hardwood! It's so beautiful and shiny. I especially love it just after I mop and it has that gloss to it. Not to mention, sliding across it in your socks is too much fun!
