I'm 5'8 and the BMI chart says I should be below 165, but my goal weight is 175. I've been that weight before (briefly) and the last 10 pounds is all butt and thighs and I'm NOT interested in losing those.0

Um no 5'5 should not be 120, I used to be 114 at 5'6 and looked horribly skinny. Even at 125, too skinny on my frame. Ideal body weight for a woman at 5'5 is between 117 and 155! Most of the weights that people are shooting for on here are too low!
I get what you are saying. But this really depends on the person's frame and where they hold the weight too. I am 5'4" and would like to be about 112-117lb. I look good there not too skinny provided I am healthy and strong (not just unhealthy skinny). I am at 130 now (well within healthy range) but I have a small frame so it doesn't work for me. So I'm doing something about it0 -

oh for sure, it totally depends on your frame. I have a med-large frame so like I said, me personally at my height 120 too thin. I was 130 before kid number four and I would be happy getting back down to 140. The older I get, the harder it is!0

I'm 5'1" and before gaining weight in my mid 20s I was between 98-105lbs. Looking back at some pics I don't think I looked too skinny, I still had hips and butt, but now that I tell people I would like to be 115lbs, they think I'm crazy and that I would look sickly...That discouraged me for a very long time, but now i try not to care anymore.0

I'm 4ft 10.5 in, and I don't really know what my ideal weight is. I've been really skinny(5st), I've been really big(7st 1lb), well I am at my heaviest now but I want a middle ground and I want to get there the right way this time. I guess I'd love to be 6st again but I think how I feel matters more to me than a number on a scale. The scale has determined my mood for far too long and maybe it's time to get rid.
You're in exactly the same boat as me. I'm 4ft 11" and weigh 6st now. I've started out at 5.5st. My ideal weight is 7st yet even if I get to 6.5st, that will be great. I'm in proportion to my height and feel healthy yet I know I need to gain those few extra lbs in order to look and feel even better.
7st would be a healthy weight for you given your height, HOWEVER, whatever makes you FEEL healthiest is also ideal and as you say, its not just about a number, its about health and what makes you feel healthiest and happiest.0 -

I started MFP in March and have lost 29 pounds so far.

I'm 5'4.5" (have to add in that extra half inch, haha) and I have reached my goal weight! I fluctuate between 114 and 115. Good luck to you all, you're doing something extraordinary.0

Currently weigh 68kg (150 lbs)
Goal is 65kg (143 lbs)

Ignoring BMI because it says i'm obese (i'm a size 16) i'd like to be 80 Kg (176).
I do a lot of karate and kickboxing, my lightest ever as an adult is 75 Kg and I was a size 10 then (BMI still had me at 'overweight').0 -
I'm 5'5 and my ideal weight to be comfortable is 135. I have about 57 lbs to lose to get there. I am staying motivated and sticking to my portion controlled regimen. Been battling stage iv metastatic breast cancer since 2008, but it will not consume me as I have a great ZEST for life. I just got back into the swing of getting myself back into shape. Was never sick from chemotherapy, but have battled the "yo-yo" effect with weight my whole life. Time to get to where I want to be to feel better about myself and then to maintain my weight.0
