Tested my fasting blood sugar this morning and had a normal reading for the first time. If I keep up good work of exercising and paying attention to what I eat, I may be able to say that I am not "pre-diabetic" any more. Not yet, but sometime soon!

Took my daughter to Wendy's. Only ate a side salad and had water to drink.

(A week ago it would have been a Baconater with fries and Pepsi.)

    I've got a few:

1 - Had to buy a couple of new belts because my jeans keep falling down
2 - Found out I was wearing bras that were 2 cup sizes too big (typically, that's where I'm losing most of my weight...a bit annoying, but hey, it's a sign that my body's getting smaller  )
3 - I had the confidence to workout at home wearing just my workout bottoms and sports bra 2 nights in a row - it's so much more comfortable (not having sweat sticking to my tops) and liberating  I highly recommend it!

I forgot my lunch, so went to Subway (only choice here without driving somewhere). Normally if I go to Subway I get a footlong something, but I decided I wanted chips, so I chose a 6" sandwich instead so I could have chips (instead of what I used to do which was get the footlong and the chips, too).

Got back to my desk, ate the sandwich...I'm fine. I didn't really want the chips. So I put them away. It's 3:30 pm now. I still don't want the chips. They're freaking *Doritos*. I've been known to eat an entire big bag of Doritos at one sitting, and right now I just don't want even this little bag of them. I should have gotten the apple slices instead. Next time I do believe I will.

I went to walmart at lunch to pick up a few groceries (only place within walking distance from my work). and just out of curiosity, I grabbed a couple size 12 (TWELVE!!!) pants (capris) to try on just because I thought 'you never know'. See, a couple weeks ago I got a 'fitted through the hip and thigh' pair of size 14's that is getting big in the waist already - has that gap at the back! and...
THEY ALL FIT!!! mind you, they were a little snug when sitting down but I had no problems doing them up at all. And one pair, which I didn't realize til after I took them off and I felt they fit fine, was slim in the thigh (or whatever the terminology was)).

I didn't buy any of them...just wanted to try them on :)

This morning I grabbed a pair of size 36 jeans to wear to work. I didn't grab my belt because I don't need them for size 36, just 38.

Or so I thought... I'm gonna spend the whole day hiking up my pants :)

That same thing happened to me last week when I put on a size 12 pair of jeans!!

Pulled out a pair of size 24 white jeans thinking "if I can just get them over my hips I'll be happy." Not only did they go over the hips but buttoned with no hassle and I can sit down and breathe in them. And did I mention they are white? I haven't worn white pants in years for the obvious reasons. Woo-Hoo! What a great Wednesday!!

My first NSV was a couple weeks ago when my coworkers started complimenting me on how much weight I'd lost and asked what I was doing (really sticking to my South Beach Diet combined with Insanity).
My second NSV occurred this morning.
I was getting ready for an interview for a new position at work and decided to wear my gray suit, which I got when I still wore size 34 pants (way back when).
They're a little snug, but they fit!

I went to a party last night and received several comments on how I looked like I lost weight. One guy noted that I look like I have so much energy. I replied, "One word: exercise." He gave me a high five and said it was clearly doing me some good.

Also, I saved back 600 calories for the party and only had two beers, half a glass of wine and a brownie bite. When I got home, I logged my calories from the evening and had almost 300 left. I wish I had eaten two more of the brownie bites.

Yesterday was my daughter's birthday and I was really proud that the cake and goodies didn't even tempt me. My three girls (25, 22 and 14), and husband were enjoying food and watching the Olympics and I was in the living room exercising doing the 30 Day Shred Level 3! My family all said they were proud of me. I'm actually proud of me now too!

This is from last week. I saw my next door neighbor one evening when I got home. He and I were talking and he made this statement. "You look different. You look like you are changing your shape." OK, so he is only my neighbor, and I thought the comment was a little funny, but from a guy, what can you expect???

Anyway, I believe he was trying to give me a compliment, so that's the way I took it!!!!
  • My NSV: I'm fasting today and 6 weeks ago would never have been brave enough to try it. I would also have never had the desire to try and feel what real hunger is. I feel like this is a turning point for me!

Bought new yoga pants to workout in yesterday; size M (12-14) . I feel great.
  • New workout shoes and trail shoes - now size 11 and not size 12 and when I was at largest size I should have been13 but crammed those plates into 12 wide.
  • Managed to fit into the jeans I managed to buy in a size to small in January time (bit of a dumb moment, tried them on, decided I wanted them in a shorter length and picked up same length/smaller waist by mistake)
I wore them twice, with a hair band over the button to make them stretch a bit at the waist and give up cos they just plain hurt.
Today for the first time- they actually fit!!
