My god, has no one heard of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, Immortals After Dark, Demonica? You know, books that are actually worth reading? And yes, I've read 50 Shades. Its a poorly written book about a girl with too many split personalities and a billionaire with a sex fetish. Next please.

I have read the Black Dagger Brotherhood, well some of it anyway. Working my way through the series between other books. I haven't read the other series you mentioned though! I'll have to look into them. Authors?

it's written in crayon...double spaced. I couldn't even finish the first one.

^^^ This. I started reading the first one, found it so completely lame, poorly written, and lacking in characterization that I realized I didn't want to waste a single more minute of my life reading something so grossly over-hyped. Normally I love romance/racy books, but this was horrible.

My friends write much better fan fiction than this!!!!

@ Scandalist - I have read 50 Shades of Gray series and Black Dagger Brotherhood series and I agree Black Dagger is better written.

^I agree too. Now if I could just get my husband to read any of them....... :blushing: Maybe I should read the good parts to him? LOL

I read the first couple chapters, and it was so poorly written and melodramatic! I just could not bring myself to keep reading all the way to the juicy stuff...which I'm sure would have made it more interesting. But I felt like I was losing brain cells so no go.

It is twilight fan fiction that took on a life of its own.. the first book is basically twilight with more sex... it is poorly written crap to be honest. And no I have no read it I downloaded a free preview on my e-reader, got 2 pages in and deleted it - and i NEVER delete books ... EVER.

If you want good erotica, the taking of sleeping beauty is fantastic... but there are so many other well written books some of which have been mentioned by previous posters.

The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty is 10x worse than 50 Shades of Grey.

Hmmm.... is it atleast better written? As in not using the same phrases and adjectives multiple times in a row?

Anything HAS to be better written than 50 Shades. Seriously. And you aren't kidding about the same phrases over and over again..."Oh my poor fifty" and I was REALLY tired of hearing about what her "inner goddess" was doing by the end of the first book. I mean seriously...who has an inner goddess that glares and does back flips? LoL

I completely agree with this. Again, I loved the steamy scenes and the email exchanges.

    But:
    Wanton.
    Oh My.
    Laters, Baby.
    Inner Goddess.
    REPEAT!!

I agree the emails were the best bit. The bondage stuff was pretty light really, I was expecting it to be a little more intense. It is very mills and boon tries BDSM. Readable but not worth raving about.

Hated it, couldn't finish it. The girl's a complete ho, and the guy's a creep.

Hold on...she's a ho because she had sex with ONE person? lol she's a virgin until she meets the guy! She's a ho because she was attracted to a man and had sex with him as a consenting adult? Umm...ok....A girl isn't a ho just because she has sex with someone lol.

I read all the books. I personally found it entertaining in a guilty pleasure type of way. If you're looking for an intellectual orgasm from the book, then NO it's not for you but if you can enjoy a corny romance novel with tons and tons and TONS of sex, then yea, go for it lol.

The "foil packet" part was annoying to me. WTF why can't she just call it a condom like a normal person? lol

No, she's a ho because she meets this guy, goes to his place on a second date, and signs a contract to be his submissive along with a dozen other girls. She's eating, exercising, dressing, and bathing according to this contract, and getting 'paid' in clothing, gifts, and sex.

He kept mentioning that she might 'run for the hills.' I'm guessing that the other sensible young women who he lured home actually did.

    She's a stupid ho.

If you liked Twilight and don't mind graphic sex scenes, give it a read. It was originally a Twilight fanfic that somehow (via the magic of the internet) became a real, standalone series, and because of this it follows the same general character types.

It is highly disposable erotica, as it is not written with any more skill than the Twilight series. But some people dig that. :V

The Beauty trilogy is written under the name Anne Rampling, I believe. Much better stories, imo.

50 Shades has NOTHING to do with Twilight!!!

It's Twilight fan fiction. It was developed from the Twilight books. It has everything to do with them.

I thought this said "50 Shades of Gay". Now I'm seriously dissapointed.

In all seriousness, the reason it's like a "poorly written Twilight" is because it IS A POORLY WRITTEN TWILIGHT. It was written as an INTERNET FAN FICTION of Twilight. The names were changed to avoid copyright issues. *facepalm* So if you like melodramatic women with self esteem issues clincing to overbearing and controlling men with some porn/lol/ thrown in - this book is for you!

*snort* yeah, definitely NOT reading this book.

Twilight fan fiction. Names changed for mass publication. Underdeveloped characters. Writing is only slightly better than the Twilight acting. Sleeping Beauty trilogy is much better.

Honestly I didn't really like those books. I read the first two and found that the second one was pretty much like the first only in a different setting. I thought it was very redundant and stale. I figured the third would be pretty much the same as the first two so I never bothered finishing it.
