Short and simple;
keep looking for a job, find side jobs, have your BOYFRIEND find something to help you guys out as well, and ask your uncle if you can borrow the money and you will pay when you're able to!
Is that a real picture of you? Cuz holy *kitten*.0 -
Just steal it from him.

Be honest on why and sincere about it and hope for the best.0

Never borrow money from a relative. I suggest you find other means some how some way.
^^^^^^THIS. IT IS NOT WISE TO BORROW MONEY. SEE IF YOU CAN GET A PAYDAY LOAN OR A TITLE LOAN OF SOME SORT.
Are you serious?! This girl is already in a financial hardship. Taking out a payday loan would put her in even worse financial hardship and is extremely difficult to recover from. I know this from experience. I would NEVER advise someone to try to get a payday loan! :noway:0 -
Thanks to everyone who gave a decent answer. I can't believe how judgmental some of you have been in this thread, you know nothing about me. I was telling you all not to give me advice on how to save money, because I'm already past that point! I've been cutting back as much as I can, I use a calculator at the grocery store so I spend exactly what I can.
By the way, my boyfriend and I only have ONE CAR. I don't know where you all fabricated another one. Also, I work at FedEx, in the summer the shifts are short since it's very hot outside, so I can't do longer shifts.
It's not a harsh reality that I will need money next month too, but guess what? I just got the call back from the grocery store today while I was at work, so when I call them tomorrow they'll tell me that I have the job. And even if I don't get it, I've applied at places all over my town and expect to get something. I've also applied at a temp service so I might get a full time job.
I understand how to manage my money, I've done it all myself since I turned 18. I don't expect to have to go to my uncle or anybody else for that matter over and over. I didn't have enough money since February when my boyfriend and I had to move out of our cheaper living arrangement (with a roommate) because our roommate unexpectedly wanted to move in with some other people. We also couldn't find a replacement roommate so we had to come up with $940 for our safety deposit and first months rent.
We've been trying to catch up with everything, and it's been hard. So if you can't understand that, just go away.0 -
I'm sure someone has pointed this out... You don't "borrow" money to someone.. you lend it to them.
May I borrow $5 from you?
Will you lend me $5?
Like that.
Okay, my advice. Don't borrow money if you have no idea of when or how you will pay it back. All it can do is alienate you from the person you borrowed it from and if it's family, this is not good.
And, just keep trying. When I was your age, I remember a time I checked the couch, under the bed, all through the car and everywhere else I could think of to gather $0.42 for a can of tuna so I could make a tuna casserole to last the 2 days until payday. Later, in my career, I was glad I had to experience being stone cold broke. It helped me manage my life better.. all the way around.0 -

How do I ask my Uncle if he will *loan* me money?
As the aunt who has GIVEN money to my niece and LENT money to my sister, brother in-law, and friends, I've vowed to never lend again. It only ends badly because
(1) borrowers rarely pay back as promised,
(2) they resent the fact that you know about their financial problems,
(3) you have the money to lend them so you don't have financial problems, AND
(3) they always come back for more
I agree with the recommendations to NOT ask a relative or friend for money. If you have any type of problem, you should be able to go to your uncle for ADVICE and counsel. If you can't go to him for advice, you should never go to him for money! He may help you in money management and after hearing your situation, may offer to GIVE (or lend) you some money. You can then plan to REPAY him and it will be a pleasant surprise if you do.
I've never borrowed money from anyone. ** My parents did pay off all of my bills after I got a doctoral scholarship and couldn't take the scholarship with my financial obligations. Years later, I GAVE both of my parents double what they GAVE me.
**(This doesn't include the $5 here and there when I didn't have enough cash for tips or whatever.)0 -

Just say "Hey, do you remember that time you told me if I needed money, you'd borrow it to me? We're in a tight spot, can you help out?".
Agreed. Keep it simple and honest. He has already given you the option.0 -
