I'm a lefty born to two right-handed parents. I believe there is only a 3% chance of that happening. My five year old son was right-handed from day one but I have an almost 2 year old daughter that uses her left hand a lot so there is still hope for her!

I too, am a lefty with two right handed parents! My 2 year old shows every sign of being left handed himself! My husband is the lone right handed person in our house.

    Lefty here!

I use my right hand for sports, such as batting etc. My left for everything else :)

Lefty here! Tried to "make" my son left handed, when he began picking up crayons and such I would put them in his left hand. Didn't work.....he always switched hands!

    Woo Hoo, left handers unite!

I use my left-hand for everything but mousing. Makes working on a computer so much easier...mouse with my right while I'm writing with my left! Let's see a right handed person pull that off!

I wish I was a "great swimmer" though. God gave me left-handed-ness but I sure as heck can't swim. I only dog paddle.

My almost 4 year old is left handed but uses his right hand for many things as well.

Me being a single right handed parent finds it hard to teach him how to write. Lol.

Being left-handed is a unique trait that less than 15% of the worlds' population possess. There are more men than women left-handers. Left-handers are creative, inventive and athletic. Left-handers can actually see more easily underwater and are excellent swimmers. We also excel in sports such as tennis and fencing. Not to mention - we have the advantage in fist fights. Our opponent can't see that "left punch" coming.

Some famous left-handers include: Female - Nicole Kidman, Julia Roberts, Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johansson and Angelina Jolie
Male - Tom Cruise, Bruce Willis, Sly Stallone, Luke Perry, and Jim Carrey
Not to mention - Leonardo da Vinci, Michaelangelo, Mozart, Beethoven and Albert Einstein
I won't list any Politicans, since they're all idiots!

This is really cool - National Left-Handers Day is August 13!

So, are you left-handed? Do you use your left-hand for everything? Or, do you also use your right hand for some things?

I am left-handed, but I do use my right hand for scissors and most tools. I bat with my right, also. I use both hands in tennis. I also, use my calculator with either hand. But, I am a proud left-hander!

I can't swim and never have played tennis, but I'm a proud leftie.

It's nice to have someone post this! But you also failed to mention that unfortunately we have:
    1- a shorter life expectancy
2 - and while we're also athletic, we are accident prone - due to the world being tooled for the right handed world.

but I've always been proud to be a left handed woman, and I do everything left handed! ( except scissors ) But, I do believe I"ve inherited my nickname from being a left hander - "calamity Jen" haha!
