Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was Cathe Live Get Stepping followed by Cathe Live Core and Basic Stretch. The step workout was from 2016 and, surprisingly, one I had never done. It was a pretty easy choreographed step routine, and it was perfect for my current rotation because it got me sweaty but I felt like I could go on for hours. No doubt I will revisit it this rotation when I am looking for a shorter step routine.

Thelma, great workouts. Doing the hip thrusts with your legs on a chair sounds tough. My hip flexors would probably yell at me if it did that for too long for sure. I haven’t checked our drought situation this week yet. But this is the time of year the dryness concerns me. I remember we talked about this last year because of the leaf burning that will start soon. People just don’t quite exercise their best judgement when it comes to fire and dryness. Hopefully it won’t be as bad as last year was, even with the burn ban.

Laurie, great workouts. I love the sound of your morning plan. I am praying for your mother and hope her surgery goes well. Your stress levels have to be off the charts right now. I am glad you are finding comfort in crafts. I just wanted anything that made me feel normal but I also needed it to be peaceful. I remember DH and I playing golf the first weekend after I got back from my mom’s death and funeral, and I think I spent the entire time just walking around and looking at the trees. I am sure I hit a golf ball as well, but I just took so much comfort from the setting. So find comfort where you can.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi ladies! Tuesday's workouts were walking, Travis Eliot Yin Hamstring Stretch and Tracy Steen Cardio and Core - No Repeat.

I had serious hamstrings DOMS today from Monday's workout! Wow! I'll definitely continue to do the hamstrings thrusts with my heels on the bench. I was exhausted from that workout. It's no wonder the program calls for an active rest day the day after this workout. I had to take a nap in the afternoon. I decided to do a cardio and core workout with Tracy. It was almost like a CG Hiit workout! There were all kinds of planks and burpees involved! Guess what tomorrow's workout is. Hiit!

We got literally a few drops of rain on Tuesday morning, then a little mist in the afternoon. It was cloudy and raw the entire day. It felt like fall, and it looked like it was going to snow.

DH and I will be married 21 years on Friday. We'll be going out to dinner, but not necessarily because it's our anniversary, but because it's a Friday! LOL. We are total hermits.

Laurie, great workouts. I think your body will love the Yin and core/mobility workouts. Someone asked on FB for hip/hamstring thrust modifications and that is how I got the heels on the bench idea. They also suggested feet flat on a wall for hip thrusts.

I hope your mom's surgery went well. I've had two friends get hip replacements. One's incision was in the back and her recovery was longer. The other friend's doctor performs the surgery from the front of the body and this method has a shorter recovery period.

Caroline does love her body work!
I am really surprised to hear that your area is also very dry! You got serious rain for a long time!

Laurel, great workouts! I can't believe you found an old step workout you'd never done before! Good job!

The hamstring thrusts with the heels on a bench is the same as doing heels on the ball. It kills just the same.

I am getting concerned about the wildfires. Thankfully there are none anywhere near here. I think it's strange that I've not gotten notifications from the forestry department about control burns.

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

My mom did well with the surgery, and apparently she has good bone structure. Now for the recovery. She was complaining before the surgery that she didn't understand why she will have to stay in one position for 50 min. with only 10 min. of standing. She is one tough lady for sure.

DH and I did Epic Heat Day 12 Opposing Upper Body. Enjoyed this one, but the rests where really short. :D This morning I just did a walk.

Laurel, Nice job with those workouts! Glad that you found a step workout that will be a repeat when you need it again. Gosh I would love normal right now, but I don't think that will happen for quite a while. My youngest DD has gotten into golfing. She didn't know that my hometown had a golf course, so I'm guessing next time she goes up there will be some golfing involved. :)

Thelma, Happy Anniversary! Great job with all the workouts! Guess that you really worked those muscles good doing your thrusts that way. I'm probably going to try that option next time we have a workout like that. Those one legged thrusts are killers, DH really seems to have a hard time with those. Not sure how mom's surgery was done, but she will be limited for at least two weeks. We are taking her to her doctors appointment when we venture up there in two weeks.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was 2.0 Giant Sets Total Body and a 20 minute spin. And mowing, which is next on my agenda. I’m really looking forward to DH coming home soon. :)

Thelma, great workouts. Sounds like you are really challenging yourself. We are fully back into summer this week with highs in the 90s expected this weekend. I am hoping this is the last of them, but I doubt it. Happy Anniversary!!! DH and I are total hermits as well.

Laurie, so glad to hear your mom handled the surgery well. She does sound like a very strong woman. Great workouts. Give yourself time to grieve. It took me many months after losing each of my parents to feel like myself again. I am glad your DD is enjoying golf. DH and I haven’t played at all this year because of his schedule and it is driving both of us a little crazy.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi ladies. Wednesday's workouts were walking and CG Beastmode Day 4 - FULL BODY. Thank God it wasn't a Hiit day!

A few years ago I purchased two skorts and they were way too small for me. A few months ago I put them in a 'to give away' bag. Today I decided to dig them out of the bag and they fit me!! I never imagined I would be able to wear them! I also had three pairs of size 6 pants with the tags still on. They also fit me! Of course, these size 6 pants from 5 years ago. I'm sure today's size 6 are super tiny. Isn't that weird how clothes makers change their sizing to accommodate bigger figures at smaller sizes? Now that I think about the skorts and the pants were probably 6 years ago and they still have their tags on. I've gotten better at returning things on time!

Thank you so much for the anniversary wishes ladies!

    Laurie, great workouts!

I am so glad your mom's surgery went well! How long does she have to follow the 50 minutes in one position and 10 minutes of standing protocol for? That would has got to be hard to do. You know how it goes, the moment they tell you not to move, you can't sit still!

I got my hamstrings good the other day. For hamstring thrusts you dig your heels on the bench, and for hip thrusts you put your fit flat on the wall/knees bent. Thank God there were no one legged thrusts in that workout.
BTW, I swear CG loses counts of her sets in this Beastmode program! I am pretty sure sometimes we do 5 sets.
It sounds like your mom may have had the rear incision surgery because the friend who had the front incision was walking right after the surgery.

Laurel, great workouts! You are so good about mowing that lawn! I would not do it.

If it weren't for pickleball and yoga DH and I would never get out of the house. Compared to the people who live here, we are total hermits.
We are going to be in the 80's through next Wednesday, then the temps will drop into the mid to high 70's.

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

Our workout yesterday was Epic Heat Day 13 ISO & PLYO Combo. I was dreading this workout because it sounded tough, but I really liked it. She did 3 sets of 30 seconds, and the majority of the workout didn't use weights for the isolation moves. The plyo moves where doable, and I did do the low impact option when I needed to. DOMS in the legs this morning for sure. With that I did some Yin Yoga with Travis this morning.

Laurel, Great job with the workouts, and the mowing. I don't blame you for wanting your DH home. Not just because he will be home, but giving back the chores will be so welcome I'm sure. I have noticed the you haven't been golfing all that much this year. I hope that changes for you, but it sounds like your DH is doing a lot more traveling with his job.

Thelma, Nice job with the workout! Yes CG does do 5 sets in some of the exercises, so she either on purpose or forgets how many sets she has done. The second week of Beastmode was my favorite week out of the two. Nice that you where able to pull those clothes out of the give away pile. You can replace them with items that are to big for you. ;) My sister was calling my Mom a sassy patient. I have not asked what type of surgery she has gone through, guess I will find out in a few weeks.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was ICE Rock’m Sock’m Kickbox, which is always a fun one for me. I followed it with 20 minutes of Peloton yoga.

Thelma, great workouts. And yay on clothes fitting! I spend most of my life in my workout clothing anymore (see our hermit discussion) but every now and again, since I don’t weigh or measure myself, I will pull out a pair of shorts or jeans or something to see if they still fit. It always makes me feel good when they do. Somehow, I find that more satisfying than knowing what my actual weight is. DH and I go out to run errands and such, but if you can believe this, outside of travel, we haven’t eaten out since before the pandemic. We both prefer sitting on our deck, eating something off the grill, and if we want wine, not paying $15 for a glass. We talk about eating out…..but we just never do.

Laurie, great workouts. It is always nice when a workout that you are dreading a bit turns out to be a good one. Unfortunately DHs travels do involve a lot of weekends so between that and our yard/house duties, we have had little time to hit the golf course. His job is changing a bit at the end of the year, so I have my fingers crossed it means more weekends home so we can get back into the golf routine. We both really miss it.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi ladies, Thursday's workouts were walking and Gina B Hiit. I just couldn't get myself to do a CG Hiit workout. It had been a long day and while testing a new vacuum around the house my back started to hurt.

My yoga friends and I took a friend out to lunch to cheer her up because she broke her arm. I wore denim shorts and for the first time in at least 20 years I wore my t-shirt tucked in. My upper abs have flattened out enough for me to feel comfortable wearing a top tucked in.

No signs of rain in our future.

Laurie, great job with those workouts. I am amazed at how Caroline manages to give us DOMS all the time!

I think Caroline loses count of the sets because she explains at the beginning of the workout that we'd be doing four sets of each exercise. I definitely need to donate some clothes!

I love that your sister is calling your mom a sassy patient! So sweet! I hope your mom is feeling better.

Laurel, great workouts! Rock'm Sock'm is a fun workout every time! I spend most of my life in shorts and t-shirts or sweats and t-shirts.

I don't think I could ever stop weighing myself in every day. I keep track of the weight.

We only started going out to dinner on Fridays since we moved here, but even that, we don't do every Friday anymore. We probably go out to dinner once or twice a month. I can't imagine paying that much for a drink, but I don't drink. DH may have a drink every once in a blue moon.

    Have a great weekend!

    Morning Ladies,

No workout yesterday, I was so tired when I finally got home from work. We both agreed that we would do the full body workout when I get home. Had plenty of sleep last night, and I can tell I'm feeling way better today. This morning was mobility/ab work with Heather.

Today is my 25th Anniversary at work. Now it's time to start preparing for retirement. o:) We even had a little rain this morning.

Laurel, Love that workout! I can't wait to spend more time in my workout clothes. That is usually what I'm wearing on the weekends. :D Sitting outside and having a meal is a great way to end the day for sure. I will keep my fingers crossed that the change in your DH's job is for the best possible outcome for the both of you. We do have to tackle our yard this weekend, those walnuts need to get off the lawn before they start to rot.

Thelma, Great job with the workout! I don't blame you for changing that hiit workout. We did do that workout, but it wasn't one that we enjoyed. Nice that you both where able to cheer up your friend, hope that she heals quick. I did chuckle at the shirt in the waistband, that is a great accomplishment. I was a bit surprised that I had doms since that workout didn't involve weights. All those moves where holds, which tax our muscles in a different way.

    Have a great weekend!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS 2.0 Supersets Total Body followed by Cathe Live Cardio Core Express. I have to admit that I was dreading this week of 2.0 total body workouts, but I enjoyed these workouts this week. I will repeat this week three more times during my rotation and that thought does not have me grimacing, which is a relief.

Thelma, great workouts. I am glad you skipped the HiiT since you were tired and your back hurt. No need to push it for sure. How sweet of you to take your friend out. I hope she heals quickly. We used to eat out once a week (a habit we started after DH left the military), but I have never really enjoyed eating out. That fact combined with how much DH has to eat out when he travels with his job is really why we just have never gone back to it. Happy Anniversary!!

Laurie, I am glad you skipped the workout yesterday and let yourself rest. You’ve had a week (or two) for sure. Great workout this morning. Congratulations on your 25th anniversary at work. I’ve been wondering if you are thinking more about retirement. Not having to dress for work is one of the best perks of not working. :) I was reading outside yesterday afternoon to a constant sound of nuts falling off the trees, so I will be back out there this weekend as well. Not my favorite autumn activity.

    Enjoy the weekend.

Hi ladies, I hope you had a great weekend. Ours was super busy getting ready to receive my BIL and SIL. We're in serious deep cleaning mode.

Friday and Saturday were incredibly hot around here. All of a sudden, the sun is feeling very, very hot.
A hurricane is expected to hit the FL panhandle on Wednesday, and it's expected to bring us much needed rain on Thursday and Friday. So much for taking my in-laws to see the mountain views at the usual tourist spots!

My workouts on Friday were walking, yoga and Tracy Steen Standing Abs.
    Saturday walking.
Sunday walking and CG Beastmode Day 6 - Back and Bicep. I really, really loved this upper body workout!

Ladies, thanks for those healing wishes for my friend. Poor thing had to deal with cancer and the brittle bones are the result of a cancer medication. She also has to take one maintenance cancer med that makes her dizzy, which is the reason why she fell. It's a sad situation.

Laurie, good job listening to your body!

Happy 25th work anniversary! I'm so excited about you planning for retirement. I highly recommend it! LOL

I am always surprised when I get DOMS from Caroline's workouts. You'd think that after all this time we wouldn't get DOMS, but CG manages to find ways to challenge the muscles.

Laurel, great workouts! I am glad you enjoyed the total body workout!
Skipping CG's Hiit workout was definitely the right call for my back.

Thank you for the anniversary wishes!!
It makes sense for you to not want to eat out when your DH travels so much and eats out all the time. I'm sure he appreciates those home cooked meals.
We had stopped eating out in MA because people would not discipline their kids at restaurants. We just can't deal with screaming kids.
We started going out here after we met a bunch of very social people. We don't go out every week like we used to, and we could take it or leave it. I do like going out with friends because we always have a good time.

    Have a wonderful week!

    Morning Ladies,

Had a very nice weekend. Saturday we took the 442 out on a cruise with friends, by the time we where almost home it started to rain. We where going to sit outside and chat, but with the rain it wasn't going to happen. We decided to watch the Nascar race. It rained all day on Sunday, which we really needed and now the temps are nice an fall like.

Our workout on Friday was Epic Day 14 Unforgiving Full Body. This one was tough with only 10 to 15 sec rest between exercises, but DH and I both agreed that it was a good workout. We didn't workout at all this weekend. Neither of us seemed to want to attempt HiiT, but that will be done after work today. This morning was Yin Yoga with Travis.

Laurel, Great job with the workouts, and of course knowing that you are good with this type of workout week in the future. LOL about the sound of nuts falling out of the trees while you where reading. I'm sure that sounds is way different than our nuts. They hit the ground with a thud, and you are always thankful that you are nut under the tree when that happens. I have been pelted with a walnut one or twice. I'm sure that our workouts will get back to normal after next weeks visit with my Mom. I'm looking forward to a somewhat more normal time before Christmas.

Thelma, Awesome job with the workouts! Glad to hear that you are enjoying the Beastmode rotation. I think that you said you where going to repeat it. I was thinking about doing the same thing, but like you did nix the HiiT workout for something else. Have a great time with your DH's family this week. Hope that you get rain, but that it lets up enough for all the tourist things you would like to do.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. My weekend got better when DH got home on Saturday. :) The three weeks he was gone felt very long this time. The only thing we did on Saturday was take a long walk which was nice despite the 95 degree temperatures. Yesterday was all day yard work since we are getting the lawn aerated tomorrow. It was downright hot yesterday and didn’t at all feel like the first day of fall. The temperatures are supposed to go down this week with, like Thelma, the chance of hurricane rain by Friday.

For workouts, on Saturday I did a 20 minute spin into STS 2.0 Mobility 1 & 2 premix. Yesterday was ICE Chiseled Lower Body Blast, Core 2 and 30 minutes of yoga. Today was STS Meso 2 Disc 13/Chest, Shoulders and Triceps and a 20 minute spin.

Thelma, great workouts. I so agree about the sun this weekend. It was brutal. I am hoping for rain from the hurricane, but I hope the surrounding storms aren’t too bad. From the latest model I just saw, it definitely looks like it is tracking right over you with us here on the outer edge. Rain would be good. Tornados…not so much. I am so sorry your friend is having such a difficult time post-cancer. She must be so frustrated. I am so glad she has a group of friends looking after her. My biggest issue with eating out is that I don’t particularly enjoy the food. B) So if there is a social aspect, it’s great. Or, as I said, when we are traveling. I love being able to try new stuff when we are somewhere else still.

Laurie, great workouts. I am sorry rain interrupted what sounds like a great Saturday. But it must have been nice to get the moisture and feel a little autumn air yesterday. We have some walnuts in the yard that hit with a thud. But most of our nuts are acorns, so you can hear them skitter through the tree on the way to the ground. Our neighbor was picking up nuts in his yard yesterday wearing a bicycle helmet, so I am thinking he might have gotten hit by a falling nut last week. I don’t blame him for protecting himself because I know during the storm we had week before last, I was actually pretty concerned about walking through the yard and getting hit on the head. But I don’t have a helmet, so…

    See you tomorrow.

Hi ladies, Monday's workouts were Walking and CG Beastmode Day 7 Lower Body. CG hit everything really good. There were way too many Bulgarians for my taste, but I kept saying to myself, you need these ones! LOL

My BIL and SIL couldn't have picked worse time to come visit. We are expected to get hit hard. We are in the 4-10" rain range!!!! The winds will be strong as well. You know we're going to lose power! In my mind I'm worried about our guest, how are we going to keep them busy? What are we going to feed them if there's no power?
I am sure everything will close around here starting Thursday afternoon. BIL/SIL should be getting here sometime Thursday afternoon. The big storm is happening on Friday, so there's no way we'll be going anywhere.

We are going to have to protect all my planters around the deck. I have mums everywhere!
The chickens will be in the garage in large dog crates. There's no way I'll leave them outside.

Laurie, I'm glad you had a nice weekend!

Great workouts! That Epic workout sounds tough with so little rest between exercises.
You got pelted with walnuts! Did it hurt? DH calls them squirrel grenades. LOL

I've been telling myself that I'll repeat Beastmode a lot! LOL
I don't think there will be anything touristy to do around here on Thursday or Friday.

Laurel, great workouts! I'm so glad your DH is back home with you!
I thought it was me who was feeling how hot the sun felt. I'm glad you're confirming that! Yeah, the storm is coming our way. When we were looking to buy here, I asked if hurricanes came this way, and I was told no. What happened? We moved here and now we have hurricanes and tornadoes.

My friend is really frustrated. Every time she starts to feel better, something happens and sets her back.
I hear you about eating out Laurel. Three weeks ago, we went to a restaurant, and I loved the food, so we went back there for our anniversary. I didn't hate the food, but it wasn't great.

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

More rain this morning! Epic Heat Day 15 Sequenced HiiT Full Body. She hit every area of the body with this workout, and of course it was all bodyweight cardio. She did two exercises, and you did four reps of each. It was 40 sec with 20 sec of rest. Each of those double exercises was done two times. It was a tough workout, but it was one that we didn't mind doing. This morning was standing ab work with Heather.

Laurel, Glad to hear that your DH made it home safe. Great job on your workouts! I feel for your neighbor, and I have to admit that he has a great idea. I don't have a helmet either, but now I just might have to invest in one just for being under the trees. :D It sure is nice when those temps go down, we had our screen door open last night.

Thelma, Awesome job with the workouts! I totally agree on the Bulgarian lunges, sometimes enough is enough. :D I'm sure that your in-laws will enjoy their time being with you and your DH. Guess you may have to pull out those board games or cards for entertainment if the electricity goes out. I have had walnuts hit my shoulders, so that is fairly close to my head. Once I was hit on the butt, because I was bending over. :D I love the squirrel grenades.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was LITE Cardio Party with the Calorie Crush, Abs, and Extended Stretch. Such a fun no-dread workout.

Thelma, great workouts. I’m so sorry you have guests due to arrive during the middle of a hurricane! I would be pretty anxious about that too. If you have a grill, make sure you have stuff you can cook in that. And lots of ice is you need to store stuff in a cooler. If the hurricane goes east of you, you will be better off. But I don’t think you’ll know that until closer to the day. We are starting to get storms over night tonight, so it may be they re-think the visit tomorrow. I don’t know how they are arriving or from where, but traveling in and out of Georgia the next few days is not going to be easy. This is a very weird hurricane how it is tracking east then west. But I agree I never would have predicted the eye of a hurricane going through Atlanta, much less Blue Ridge. Stay safe!

Laurie, great workouts. I am so looking forward to the days when we can have the windows open again. Our lows are still in the 70s and humid, but there are some forecasted 50s for next week. And if that happens, I will open the entire house up. :)

    See you tomorrow.

Hi ladies! Tuesday's workouts were walking and CG Beastmode Day 8 - Chest and Triceps. Awesome workout. CG had my triceps crying for mercy!

We got .1" of rain on Tuesday morning. We've had a little off and on rain on Tuesday night.
We are now under a state of emergency. Wednesday is supposed to be rainy, but the forecast calls for 100% rain on Thursday and Friday. Some weather images I'm seen show Helene's bullseye right over our area. It looks like we're still in the 4"-12" rain range.

We are going to be putting my planters in the garage along with the chickens.

    Laurie, great workouts!

CG had too many pushups in the upper body workout I did today. Four sets of each is way too much for my hands, so I did two sets of pushups and two sets of tricep kickbacks.
You should wear a helmet when you're under the walnut trees!
We have plenty of board games, but I don't want to have to be forced to that just to entertain our guests. When we have bad storms the last thing, I want to do is play games. I want to be alone praying for our safety.

Laurel, great workouts! I love those no-dread workouts!

DH told his brother to get here as early as possible on Thursday. They are driving from MA. They'll start the trip on Wednesday, and they'll stay overnight somewhere, then will head this way on Thursday. I wish they'd rethink their visit, but it doesn't sound like they will. It's not going to be fun for me. I hate having to fake that I'm having a good time with people. I am getting cranky just thinking about it.

I hope the hurricane changes its mind about coming this way.
We have plenty of easy to cook food. I got all kinds of snacks, too. We are not going to starve.

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

Our workout after work was Epic Day 16 Tangible Triceps and Delts. Those two body parts are talking to me today. DH was feeling it this morning also. :D She did two shoulder exercise each done for two sets. After that she did a staple of tricep dips and a tricep exercise. She only gave 15 sec rests between sets, so this was a real endurance workout. This morning I did Yin Yoga with Travis. Yesterday someone posted on a Cathe fb group that she has some workouts on youtube that are one on one. Sure enough she had some basic step and a couple of other workouts on there.

Laurel, Absolutely love that combo of workouts. Cardio Party is a party. I had the screen door open again last night, of course it is easier to have it that way when I'm grilling. I'm hoping that these temps stay around for a while, it sure is nice. Hopefully your area starts to cool down soon.

Thelma, Great job with that workout! DH has done the same thing with the push ups. His wrists hurt him, so I have had him doing the kickback's. Didn't realize that your in-laws where driving. Hopefully it's all rain and the winds have lost some of their strength by the time they get to your home.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Meso 2 Disc 14/Legs followed by Cathe Live Cardio Core Bootcamp. My legs are fried. I see a lot of stretching in my future today. :)

Thelma, great workouts. I’m glad you modified the push up. My wrists have good days and not so good days, and I really try not to push them too much because I need them for everything else in life. I don’t blame you at all for not wanting to entertain through a hurricane. Hopefully the storm passes through pretty quickly (the meat of the hurricane that hit us in Florida lasted about 6 hours) and you are left with electricity throughout. I would imagine during that time you will all want to be hunkered down someplace safe and quiet. But I know for sure I couldn’t pretend that a hurricane was not passing over the top of me, so I hope you don’t feel you need to do that at all. But, as Laurie says, hopefully the fierceness of the storms is over before it ever reaches you and you are left with a lot of rain but none of the violence. Take care.

Laurie, great workouts. Thanks for the info on Cathe’s YouTube workouts. I hadn’t heard about those. I would imagine she is having a difficult time reaching a new audience for her workouts and competing with all of the free YouTube content out there, so it is probably wise she does this. We have expected temperatures in the 70s for the next few days! Unfortunately the highs and lows are identical because of the cloud cover and humidity. But it is good to have cooler and wetter weather for a few days.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi ladies, Wednesday's workouts were indoor walking and cleaning. I was pretty much a slug today. Everything took longer to do. I just have last minute dusting and vacuuming left to do. I wanted to bake some sourdough goodies for them, but who knows if I'll feel like doing much tomorrow.

Helene is supposed to make landfall as cat 4 hurricane. It's a fast mover, so it will enter GA as a hurricane 4. Some weather people are saying that our area will be hit Thursday night into Friday morning. I just looked at a different app an it shows the bulk of the storm hitting us Friday morning. Pretty much all morning.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. It's going to be bad.

DH tried to convince his brother to change his vacation plans, but he wouldn't have any of it.

Great workouts Laurie. Pushups are hard on the wrists and after all the cleaning I've been doing, I needed to give them a break.
The in-laws are driving. They are spending the night in VA. They're 5-6 hours aways from here.

    Laurel, great workouts!

I try to modify the pushups when they're too many for me.
The storm is supposed to stall over us! I hope it loses strength long before it gets here. We could see gusts of wind of up to 70MPH.

    Have a great weekend!

    Morning Ladies,

Our workout yesterday was Epic Heat Day 17 Effective Leg Day Collective. This was a very doable workout, and she hit every part of the legs in this one. It reminded me of a classic Cathe leg workout. This morning I decided that Jessica needed my time, so I did a Fusion Sculpt workout using light weights.

Laurel, Love the workouts! I'm sure that you will enjoy stretching when you get the chance to do so. I kind of hope that Cathe puts out more of these workouts. She actually commented on the post, so maybe she will. One of them was a cardio workout for Seniors, guess I'm one of those now. :D

Thelma, Sounds like you are ready for your guests to arrive. Take care, and hope everything goes will for all of you. Your DH's brother is a very determined person. ;) You all will be in my prayers for safety.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 45 minute spin followed by 20 minutes of yoga. My legs were feeling sore and heavy as I went up the stairs to do the spin, but on the bike they felt pretty good. Hopefully the yoga will prevent any further DOMS from yesterday’s STS leg workout.

Thelma, I am thinking about you! I hope your in-laws make it there safely. Please let us know how you are doing when you can. I will be worried about you.

Laurie, great workouts. It has been awhile since I have done a Jessica workout as well, and I miss her calming influence. I didn’t remember to look at those Cathe videos yesterday, so thank you for mentioning she has a cardio workout for seniors. I definitely want to see that one. You made me laugh about being a ‘senior’. Last year when we were in Canada, we were paying to go into a museum, and the lady taking our money pointed to their sign and asked us which age group we were in. Adult was 18-59. Senior was 60 and up. I keep telling my DH that, per that sign, next year we are no longer adults, and I will act accordingly. :D

    See you tomorrow.

Hi ladies! We are safe and Helene moved east, so we got speared. Thank God and thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.

I didn't to post last night because I was convinced it was Saturday!

My in-laws got here safely yesterday afternoon. They are serious board game players. They came with a custom made board, the kind you use marbles with, AND a duffle bags with gsmes! I'm screwrd! LOL

DH talked with his brother before they got here and told him that by the time they got here, they'd be able to EAT off of the floor! HAHAHA! I made him work hard in deep cleaning the house.

DH moved my plants and chickens to the garage and secured the deck furniture, too.

I made my Neapolitan pizza dough for them and made them pizza for dinner. I also made a sourdough banana read. I had no idea my BIL loved banana bread! He was very thankful for the special treatment and had tears in his eyes when he was thanking me.
I'm going to make my cinnamon raisin bread for them today.

Great workouts ladies. I got an indoor walking workout in yesterday. I might be able to get a short workout in later on today, but dought it.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    Morning Ladies,

Yesterday's workout was Epic Heat Day 18 Diamond Chest & Core. This was an awesome but challenging workout. This morning I tried out another new instructor. I did a Beginner Stretch Flexibility Routine with Tom Merrick. Even with it being a beginner workout, it was a very good routine for the hips. Will be trying some of his other options for mobility improvement.

I will probably not be on next week. We are heading up to my mom's early Monday morning, and not coming back until Thursday.

Laurel, Awesome job with the workouts, even with the sore legs. I don't feel like a Senior, but if they give discounts for that option then I'm all for it. Just can't stand the fact that my body wants to protest things that I took for granted just a few years ago. I will be concentrating a lot more on the stretching/mobility work from now on. It really does help. I think that Jessica will be in my morning rotation a lot more. She can hit those areas that other instructors seem to miss.

Thelma, Glad to hear that the hurricane isn't going to hit your area. Sounds like some very good food that you made. How nice that your BIL was so appreciative of your making that bread. I'm sure that you will get your workouts in when you are able.

    Have a great week ahead!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Meso 2 Disc 15/Back and Biceps, STS Medicine Ball Abs and Cathe Live Kick, Box and Sweat.

Thelma, I am so glad to hear you were spared the worst of Helene. I had my fingers crossed you would be when I saw it shifting to the east. What a horrible storm and my heart goes out to the people who have lost so much. To have a hurricane barrel through four states that quickly is a little horrifying. Even here in south Alabama, we had some power outages. We missed the bulk of it where we are at. It has been rainy and pretty windy, but that is not a complaint at all. I am glad your in-laws made it safely and are appreciating your baking efforts. I hope you can relax and enjoy your time with them this weekend…..even if they do beat you in board games. :D;)

Laurie, great workouts. I agree about the rapidly changing body. I am amazed at how much mobility I am losing, and I workout daily and focus in mobility quite a bit. I just can’t imagine how I would feel without it. :o I hope all goes well with your mom next week and you can return home to a more normal routine.

    Hope you enjoy the weekend.

Hi ladies, I hope you had a nice weekend. Ours was good. It's been rainy, drizzly and cloudy. We got 6.5" of rain from the cold front and Helene. We got .3" more this weekend.

OMG ladies, what a horrific tragedy in NC! My heart breaks for all those people. DH and I had decided to live in Ashville or somewhere in Maggie Valley right before we discovered Blue Ridge. We discovered BR during one of our Ashville vacations.

Our main supermarket in this area is Ingles. Ingles Supermarkets are headquartered in Asheville, NC! Their operations and food warehouses are there! THAT is affecting us big time. We've lost part of our food supply. If you go to that supermarket you have to have exact change.
Their pharmacy system is down, so no prescriptions can be filled.

On top of the NC situation, I'm hearing the port workers are going to go on strike. I guess we'll be hurting for food here pretty soon.

My in-law's visit has gone well. I have not played a single game. I just can't and won't. The dread factor is too much for me. They and DH have played games for hours at-a-time. I've kept myself busy doing other things including baking a daily dessert. Their visit has been extended and I'm totally on board with that as long as they leave me out of their games.
I resumed my normal exercise routine on Sunday afternoon because I've only been squeezing walks in.

    Thursday - Saturday - walking
Sunday - Walking and Tracy Steen Sexy Arms. I did a Tracy workout because I was too tired to do a Beastmode workout.
I'm going back to my yoga classes tomorrow morning.

    Laurie, great workouts!

I hope your mom is doing better. I'm sure she'll appreciate the time you're going to spend helping her.

My in-laws are really appreciative of everything we've made for them and for the time spent together. My SIL came here for the mountain views. She's yet to see the view in all its glory because it's been super cloudy.

    Laurel, great workouts!
Did you read Cathe's update on the new program. I think she's hoping to be able to ship them out in October.

OMG Laurel, we are so lucky the hurricane changed its path. I am terribly upset over the tragedy in NC. It really is horrifying to think of all the damage one hurricane caused. They're saying another one could potentially form next week. It wasn't very windy here at all, but a few people lost power.
I'm so glad you missed the bulk of the storm.

I've enjoyed the time with my in-laws because they're nice and they've not pressured me to play games.

    Have a great week!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Ours was pretty good. We had rain both days, but it cleared enough on Saturday to give us a chance to clean up after the storm and do our yearly overseeding and fertilization of the grass. It is still pretty cloudy today, which is surprising.

For workouts, on Saturday I did a walk with Jessica Smith and Cathe Live Yoga and Mobility Stretch. Yesterday was STS 2.0 Lower Body 1 and 4DS Lower Intensity Step and core. Today was 2.0 Upper Body 1 and a 30 minute spin.

Thelma, great workouts. I am glad you enjoying the time with your in-laws and you have been able to skip the game playing. I agree about the devastation in NC. One of DHs co-workers and his very pregnant wife were in Asheville when the storm hit. DH finally heard from them yesterday and they had a place, food and water but left to head south to Hendersonville this morning. That is as far as they could get in their gasoline. So DH and another co-worker are driving there now with gas (and tons of water for anybody who might need it). It is just horrifying what is going on. We have plans to go to Asheville for New Year’s Eve this year, and I doubt that will happen. It is just so sad for that community. Then, like you, I just read about the longshoreman strike and another new storm, and I kind of just want to go back to bed. :/ Your grocery situation sounds alarming, to be honest. I hope it doesn’t get much worse with all of this other stuff going on as well.

But, as you said, there is good news from Cathe and the new series. I am very anxious to get these workouts because I think they will be perfect for my current rotation.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi ladies, Monday's workouts were walking and Warm Yinyasa.

Laurel, great workouts. How nice that Cathe has live mobility workouts.

I'm glad your DHs coworker and wife are OK! How nice of your DH and co-worker to be going to NC with much needed supplies.
We also are mobilizing here in BR with supplies to be driven up to NC.
It doesn't sound like your trip to Asheville will be possible given the devastation.

We have a Walmart and a smaller supermarket, but I hear they're getting slammed now. No one wants to go to Ingles and be bothered with having exact change.

I am looking forward to receiving Cathe's new DVDs.

    See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was LITE Rev’d Up Rumble, with Cardio Crush and Core. It was good for today.

DH’s trip to NC went well, but they decided to go there and back in a day, so he didn’t get home until 2:30am. The couple they were rescuing were lucky to have friends of a friend with a house just north of Greenville SC that was empty and a place they could spend the day. They had no electricity but at least had water. They also had only about 10 more miles of gas in their car. Their experience was far more harrowing than expected with them escaping mud slides twice. He lost all of his luggage in one mud slide. And, again, she is seven months pregnant. So I am very happy DH was able to help them and they were on the road home last night.

Great workouts, Thelma. I don’t know what it means for stores now that the strike is happening. I think there will be some panic buying, especially because these storms and the impact they have already had. I couldn’t think of a worse time for these workers to go on strike, especially since it is just an east coast strike and six states on the coast have just been hit but one of the worst storms in recent years. But…..there you go. I just hope it doesn’t last too long.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi ladies! Tuesday's workouts were yoga and walking.
My in-laws will be leaving on Thursday. I can't wait to resume my workouts.

Laurel, your DH and his co-worker are heroes! I'm glad your DH is back home safely.

Our supermarket shelves are empty now from what I've heard. I don't know if it's because people are buying food to donate to the NC hurricane in NC, or if this is panic buying. Some people say the port strike will not affect our food supply.

    See you tomorrow.
