Sooooooooo happy for Antoine and Alexandra. Such a cute, loving couple. His words were so true. They are so lucky to have found each other. Ironic, that shows like The Bachelor and The Bachelorette supposedly fix people up, only 1 match. On the biggest loser, they're here to focus on themselves only and end up finding The One!. That is the way life should be. Focus on self first.
    Agreed!

Glad Danny won, but he kind of worked my nerves with all the crying he did every episode

 Nobody will ever cry as much as Mark did. (season 5 i think, black team with brother jay)

Oh, good Lord! He should've been the spokesman for Kleenex! Man up, already! :drinker:

Well, there's a reason why we get like we get. Weightloss is 80% mental and 20% work. (I think that's what I heard)

    Should be 100% mental

You have to put your mind into eating right and working out :)

NBC has revealed the 22 new contestants who will battle the bulge and each other when the ninth season of The Biggest Loser kicks off Jan. 5.

Fresh off its second-chances-themed eighth season, the forthcoming Loser season will feature "couples," though not necessarily in the romantic sense.

This year's token superlative contestant, who has the dubious distinction of being the heaviest competitor ever in the heaviest season ever, tips the scales at 526 pounds and partners with his Italian mother. Other root-for-them contestants include identical twin brothers who together weigh nearly half a ton, as well as a cancer-surviving mother who pairs up with her daughter in an effort to restore her health.

As always, Alison Sweeney returns to host the show, as do hard-*kitten* results-oriented trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper.

Here's the rundown of the 11 teams that will compete for the $250,000 prize and the title of Biggest Loser:

    • Sam Crutchfield, 30, human resources director; John Crutchfield, 30, senior marketing manager (twin brothers)

    • Sam Poueu, 24, youth football coach and security guard; Koli Palu, 29, football coach and head of security (cousins)

    • Melissa Morgan, 29, attorney; Lance Morgan, 38, rancher (married)

    • Patti Anderson, 55, business owner; Stephanie Anderson, 29, radio sales executive (mother-daughter)

    • Cherita Andrews, 50, homemaker; Vicky Andrews, 22, student (mother-daughter)

    • Miggy Cancel, 48, chef; Migdalia Sebren, 28, homemaker (mother-daughter)

    • Cheryl George, 50, store owner; Daris George, 25, salesman/deliveryman (mother-son)

    • O'Neal Hampton Jr., 51, U.S. postal service station manager; SunShine Hampton, 24, restaurant server (father-daughter)

    • Darrell Hough, 46, press operator/mechanic; Andrea Hough, 24, executive assistant (father-daughter)

    • Sherry Johnston, 51, nonprofit administrator; Ashley Johnston, 27, manager/esthetician (mother-daughter)

    • Maria Ventrella, 51, corporate travel agent; Michael Ventrella, 30, DJ (mother-son)

I am looking forward to see if Shay can meet the challange Subway gave. I think that was great of them to do so

Can't wait for the next season to start. Jan 05th is fastly approaching

I broke my ankle back in Oct. So I ended up watching them exercise and complain and I'm sitting there wishing I could trade places. I am finally getting around more learning to walk straight again is no picnic

Shay is no longer the biggest contestant.

Wow, Biggest Loser starts up again tomorrow night? Woo hoo! I LOVE watching how people start off looking so tired, so beaten down by their weight and then watch week after week their excitement as the pounds burn off. I get so excited for them. I love rooting for the underdogs too. Last season was so good. I love that Subway is giving Shay that awesome incentive to keep losing weight. Everyone looked amazing at last season's finale. I wish all of them the best of luck. They are an inspiration to all of us.

WooHoo! I can't wait until tomorrow... I'm so excited! I really hope this season is a good one, without nasty people like Vicky, Heba, Tracey, etc. I think we can all do without the nastiness and drama. Show us some good hearted folks who are changing their lives and inspiring us!

I would LOOOOOOOVE to see that but I am sure NBC will WANT some drama in there to keep the show juicy and their ratings up

I watched the new one tonight.. Season 9 !

Wow. I broke my record- i don't think i ever cried during the first show.. When they said they are sending two teams home right away i first somehow got mad .. and frustrated.. why.. why are they doing this to the people, they really need this, they came all the way there just to be sent back home without even doing anything ?
It makes me mad and sad. And deep down i was hoping that they had some kind of " surprise " for them ..
They sat in those limos= cried theire eyes out.. i just felt so angry and sad for them but when i saw bob and jillian jumping out and stoping the limos i just couldn't help it - had to cry right there.. i was so relieved that it wasn't " over " for them :)

Love the show- hardly ever miss it .. it just has always something new and good in it- and it always shows all of us that we all can do it.. .. comon if a 526 lbs guy can workout.. what the h.. is than our excuse who are way below that ??

I didn't like that Tracy.. she just ticked me off with her " player-attitude - .. just like that Vicky from the other season.. jeez that woman was just so annoying .. I'm glad that this two last seasons have not been like that- the " game-plan " kind of show, i didn't want the show to turn into a " gimme 250 grand kind of show.. if you want money go to " milionair or deal or no deal.. but biggest loser should be - what it is all about- losing weight- inspiring people and changing lives.. not about the grand prize ..

    Yeah, I cried already...

The orange guy with the curly hair who said he was always the funny guy who all the girls liked but never had a girlfriend...that was like a male version of me. And the purple girl who said she'd never had a boyfriend or been in love. Those two hit close to home with me. :ohwell:

I have never really watched this show before, seen the odd episode but I have to say I was touched tonight by so many stories. I hope they all are successul in their journey. I will follow the show this year!

I think the grand prize should be a lifetime membership in a gym and maybe a bunch of other new stuff, kind of like the showcase from the price is right only maybe on a larger scale.

Like maybe the gym membership, a couple of really nice road bikes, a couple of weeks at that Biggest loser fitness spa (or whatever it is), Maybe some kind of healthy food gifts (like free veggies for 1 year from the supermarket of your choice)...etc.
things that are still a great value but would keep them on the road to fitness. There's all kinds of things I can think of that would help someone, and really, nobody thinks about the money who's watching the show (well, not really), or at least nobody I know does.

Really, the grand prize is about being healthy at the end, not winning some money. after everything is said and done, it's really not that much anyway, I mean after taxes on winnings (it'll end up being almost 50%) you're talking about $125 K, it's a nice chunk (don't get me wrong it's a lot of money), but it won't change your life very much, that chunk wouldn't even come close to getting rid of my mortgage (and that's what I'd put it too!).

I'm so glad the show is back. I know there's those that either love or criticize it, but for me, it truly helps me keep my focus and each of the contestants (even the nasty ones) inspire me to better myself for one reason or another.
