Still doing ok, I think. I did eat 1/2 cup of sugar free pudding and a little cool whip. That is a gray area for me. Tasted like sweets, but it wasn't the cookies, cakes, ice cream and chocolate that are my real issues. I need to be able to eat some stuff on occasion that satisfies my sweet tooth or I'll crash and burn and it won't be pretty when it happens.

    Lori,

I wouldn't sweat teh gray area.

I personally don't eat the fake stuff because I don't like the taste of fake sugary crud. If it doesn't inspire you to indulge further, and it satisfies you, and you don't mind the incredibly fake crappy chemicals you're putting into the body that you're working so hard to get healthy and fit...well, go for it.

Well, I was sugar free-- not so fat free.

Had a doctor's appointment an hour away, had to take wee ones. Got a sack of dollar burgers since we were gone over lunch, then just shared a burger (and fries) with the hubster-- d'oh!!!!

Yummy though-- run it off tomorrow, I guess--

    Whaddyagonnado?

Hope it's not too late to get in on this no junk food stuff. I really need to do this. I have been doing good with eating healthy and exercise until the kids are in bed then i find myself fighting to stay out of the Halloween candy. This is a great idea!

Yesterday I slipped on that sugary trail I left with the cupcakes I made! Had 1. Then, I took the rest to hubbys softball game and fed them to all the kids there. I WILL beat this addiction. I have always said that I am not addicted to drugs or drinking and I now have my food and exercising under control the one addiction I still have is SUGAR!!! I will beat this!!!

    Good luck today!!

I'm in. Goodbye Mr. Vanilla Tootsie Roll.

So, does this mean on Thanksgiving I can have a big piece of pecan pie? OMG! So worth it.

Sam....It is an addiction. And a tough one, because there's nothing "illegal or immoral" about it-- nobody frowns on sugar, in fact it's pushed into FREAKIN' EVERYTHING--

One day at a time. Being mindful of it is half the battle.

katie-- welcome!! Did you say pecan pie??!! Gotta tell you, I plan on having just that on Thanksgiving-- I did well last year refraining from sweets until occasions. No sweets until Thanksgiving-- then until Christmas-- Valentine's Day-- et cetera.

I don't plan on NEVER having these goodies, I just can't let them invade my daily existence as I keep doing over and over and freakin' over again.

I feel so much better physically and mentally when I keep them under control.

So, my friends YOU CAN avoid them today. Be strong.

     to you all--

Jeannie- I don't think strawberry jam counts, but that's me. I didn't count my sugar free puddin and cool whip- my grey area.

Marla mentioned the 'fake' taste. I don't do much sugar free stuff cause I agree. I don't mind sugar free puddings. Sugar free jello is ok while I'm eating it, afterward, I want to scrape my tongue. Otherwise I don't buy the sugar free cookies or pastries.

Great job on the no sweets gang!

I was craving last night big time, but I didn't do it.

So, I went Monday through Friday without any sweets!!!

I did curb my cravings with some sugar free jello and I think that helped get me through it. My fiance even brought home some candy from work (mini-Snickers- YIKES!) and I didn't touch them. Yay me!

Tonight I'm going to a get-together and my best friend is making one of my favorite desserts. So, do I indulge and enjoy it or stay sweet free???

    Help!!

Not in my book. I'm talking cookies, brownies, cakes, desserts--

Uh, and cheese Danish, half of which I just ate. Flippin' husband.

The following is an excerpt from an actual conversation held at the Key City Diner in Phillipsburg, New Jersey--

Hubs: "Do you want to split this Danish with me?"
Me: "Ooh! Yes-- um, I mean,no, I'm on a no sweets challenge til Thanksgiving."
Hubs: "Oh, for crying out loud, eat the freaking danish."

Whaddyagonnado-- love, honor and obey-- ya know?

Heading out to run in a bit as penance.
