Poll: Do You Wear Makeup to the Gym?
Replies

When I go to the gym I wear mascara and lip gloss. I like being able to look in the mirror after sweating and still look good; I find that sometimes if I look worn out after the gym it gives me less motivation than when I have that "after work-out" glow.0

I do not wear makeup to the gym. My main goal is to sweat and work as hard as I can and I don't want makeup sweating down my face.0

No makeup. I feel gross sweating with makeup on!0

Yes0

I usually go right after work so I already have makeup on, but I don't put on makeup specifically to go to the gym. I'm gonna sweat it off anyway so what's the point?0

I go after work, so I have makeup on. I don't wear a ton of makeup anyways, and I do sweat off what I have on, but I'm not going to wash my makeup off just to go to the gym.

I wash my face before going, no make-up, unless chapstick counts. My hair is also a hot mess as it's shorter and wavy, so I clip my bangs out of my eyes and by the end of my workout...? it's a frizzy mop! lol0

Even if I come from work with makeup on and head to the gym I'm taking it off before I workout. There's no need to keep it on for it to run down my face and get smeared across my face from wiping my sweat off my face. I sweat entirely too much to do that.0

Depending on how my skin looks that day, I might wear some tinted moisturizer. I almost always wear concealer under my eyes, waterproof mascara and tinted lip balm. No I'm not there to impress anyone, but I just feel better with it on. I began suffering from acne when I was like 11 years old, and was teased mercilessly for it all throughout junior high and my early high school years, so I'm really self conscious about my skin, even though it's nice and clear now.
If I workout after work, I generally don't take my makeup off before I go. But by that point, most of it has faded off anyway.0 -
I never even think about what I look like at the gym ha. I honestly couldn't care
I aim to sweat as much as possible so make up would just be an epic fail for me.
I feel the same way as far as make-up is concerned. If I am working out hard whats the point of doing a full face of makeup when I will just sweat it off? However I never leave the house without a lip gloss, thats always a must. Even though my make-up isn't don't doesn't mean you can be sexy at the gym, that's where your cute gym cloths comes to play. I refuse to go to the gym looking a hot mess, but on the other hand I am not there to impress anyone; I am there to sweat and burn calories.0 -
I am usually wearing make-up, only because I go right after work. Otherwise, I don't bother. I will be washing it off in the shower after my workout anyway. I'm not there to impress anyone.0

Yes! I do!
It makes me feel good wearing it. I think I look alright without make-up, but I love the way I feel when I wear it!
Hell, I've even worn it when I was milking cows during my internship... The farmer kept asking me why I even bothered:noway: . I answerd that the cows probably wouldnt mind some eye-candy LOL...
Just do what makes you feel happy!:flowerforyou:0 -
To me, it seems counterproductive to glob crap on your face right before you purposefully begin sweating. :huh:0

No, I don't. I know I'm going to the gym looking less than great with my under eye circles and uneven skin tone but I HATE sweating. So, sweating with makeup is just so much worse. Since I am engaged, I'm definitely not trying to appeal to the men who are there. If anything, not having makeup on and staying focused helps me because people know I'm not there to play and they leave me alone. No small talk allowed.0

The only way I wear make up when I workout is if I go during my lunch hour. Any other time, I wash it off...That stuff burns when it gets in your eyes!0
-
i only wear makeup to the gym if i already had it on from my day but even then i will rinse my skin off avoiding my eyes..no point in adding to breakouts! If i am going before work or whatever then heck no. :happy:0
-
No. I usually don't wear make up at all so it would be really weird to put it on for the gym0
-
I go to the gym directly from work most of the time so - yes. I look purrrty at the gym... for about 10 minutes. Then I start to look a little scary. :blushing:0
-
I do if I go after work, but I don't if I wake up early and go. Sometimes I like to just blend in, and not be noticed, .. not yet at least, maybe 100 lbs from now.0
-
No never... wait... :bigsmile:0
-
nope! i used to not go anywhere without make up on, but now i have 4 kids, so if i find the time to go to the gym, i'm not going to waste any of it to put on make up.0

Ahhh No! God could be sitting next to me and I would not see him !
I am focused and go to complete my weightlifting for me, Don't care what anyone else is doing!
I get on that freaking focus train and ride!0 -
Ladies....allow me to add a male perspective. I am not completely sure what cute workout clothes are but at the end of the workout you still are sweaty. What impresses me is not what you are wearing, it is the intensity of your dedication. There is a lady at my gym who wears baggy shorts and tank tops. She comes prepared to work out...and she does. She has an amazing work out ethic and is beautifully toned. My point is this, if wearing coordinated workout clothes gives you motivation then great. Obviously if you are wearing something form fitting we will notice. But what is more important....how look while you are working out or how you look when you are out in the world? I have been married a long time. I still think my wife is the most beautiful when she first wakes up. You love the person under the make-up. I doubt that anyone cares whether you have make-up on or not. Besides it is gone by the end. One final point....I understand that no one wants to smell badly at the end of their workout, but the pleasent scent that you have at the beginning of the workout can reach toxic levels by the end....especially for thos of us who have allergies or asthma. Take this words as you will. Keep on with your goal. I respect you all.0

No make up for me. I feel it wouldn't be good for my skin. I think it's better to keep the pores clean when sweating, it would also really mess up my towel!
I don't wear waterproof mascara - so even then I'd end up with panda eyes!
Also no perfume - it makes me feel nauseous traing when there are people near me with strong perfume0 -
Hell no! And if I work out after work, I wash my face off first. I'm not letting that crap clog my pores!
I second this! If I go to the gym after work or run around my neighborhood, I wash my face first. And when I get up in the morning, all I do is wash my face,(brush my teeth) put my contacts on and I'm out the door. I don't care if peole think wow she needs makeup on cause my face is going to be red from working out and sweating so no, I dont' wear makeup.0 -
If I am going to the gym from work yes, but I don't put make up on just to go to the gym  I just sweat it all off anyhow! I do however wear earings, just cause I hate not having them on! :glasses:0

I wear very minimal make up to begin with. I usually go to the gym later in the day, so if I have make up on that day it's probably still on when I'm there, but I would never put any on to go there. Mostly because it's going to sweat off anyway. I do however like to wear cute work out clothes, and having them on makes me more excited to go to the gym.0
-
Heck no, I don't wear makeup to the gym?
It's pore clogging and when you start sweating it feels heavy and caked on. It always strikes me as 'off' when I see someone fully made up at the gym0 -
Hell no! And if I work out after work, I wash my face off first. I'm not letting that crap clog my pores!
This. I work out at home, so, no make up. In my early 20s , when I was a gym regular, I never wore make up either.0 -
I haven't in the past, unless I was already wearing makeup that day. I think because my skin is light brown, I worry that my coverup will wind up streaking color all down my workout shirt! How do you keep from messing up your "cute clothes"?
Maybe if I knew how to manage that, I would be more in the mindset to wear some. I do like the idea of feeling cute and sexy while at the gym for added motivation.0
