Hi there.... I am a friendly female that would love to loose over a hundred pounds long term goal... I had the lapband about 7 years ago and it didn't work.... I gained the weight plus a whole lot more... Looking for friends to help with motivation when I need that friendly comment or push to see that I'm doing it and not to give up... Also can someone please tell me how to add friends or add me just can't seem to get it.... Lol3

@Crista792 Welcome friend!
@ladycopnh1- Love your sense of humor. If wishes accomplished what we want then I would weigh 50 pounds less by mid July (having an Echo Cardiogram then to see how my heart is doing now) but realistically 30 pounds is far more within my doable scope. Any weight loss is, at the end of the year, better than NO weight loss.
@CandiceStokes - Unfortunately I know too many people who have had poor results with baratric surgery and a only a few that have had good sustained weight loss, so you have lots of company but hey you still can do it the old fashioned way! And enjoy it here with us on the same journey! I sent you a friends request and a message about how to add friends!1 -
There was a former member of our group who had surgery and lost 130 pounds and looked fabulous the last post I saw from him. I sent him a note and asked him to dropped by and encourage us. His name is @pneschich. I hope he will. He is very encouraging and very honest about his struggles!0

Ok, so I maintained. Which is honestly an accomplishment, with having more than a couple bad days in there. I refilled the fridge and cupboards with fresh healthy stuff (hubby and kids left to their own devices while I was gone and basically there was nothing left when I got home, haha) and reset myself yesterday. These 3 weeks of maintaining are definitely a bummer, BUT- this is a mind game- and I'm working on retraining this grey matter of mine. In the past I might have given up, but something is clicking this time around and I'm finding it way easier to get back on track. Doubt I'll make my initial goal since there's one week left so I'm shooting for 272 next week.6 -
Karen- great job! I know you really wanted to get into the 240's and you made it!
Gabe- great loss this week!!! You are just dropping pounds like crazy since this challenge started- so awesome! You are SOOO close to the 200s, too- keep on keeping on!
Margie- what a great week! Congrats on meeting your goal! I love seeing your little turtle on here- you are always so sweet and encouraging.
Buxbert- Woohoo for compliments! And great job this week!
Barney- Holy smokes you're doing awesome!
Mayve- You inspire me! Thanks again for doing this challenge.
Stewart- the 200's!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!! What a great accomplishment and I know just how good it feels to see a 2 in front instead of a 3. Keep it up!
I think that's everyone who's checked in so far this week- if not, my apologies (and great job- you rock! ) I love this group and have found it instrumental in my successes lately!
For all the new faces- welcome!!! Keep coming back, check in, tell us who you are, how you're doing. Give progress updates, talk about your struggles, talk about your victories! We are all in this together and accountability and support are key components to long term success. I've requested a couple new people- but if I didn't get to you- feel free to request me! I keep an open food diary and am pretty vocal.
Everyone have a superb weekend!6 -
Hi there! I’m just starting on my journey (again) and know that in order to be successful I will need motivation and support. Love the posts I’m seeing in this thread!!5

Slow and steady! I only went to the gym 2 days this week so far, I plan on going today to make it 3. I have a cold or something, so I don't know how well I'll do.
Great Job everyone! Yay to those who met their goal already!4 -
@kbeyer23. Katrina, keep at it. Your breaking through that mental wall. As well by being honest about it, your not regressing like I have so many times in the past. I would say so many times, ah I can start tomorrow. Add up 10, 20, 50, 100 etc... tomorrows and they never really come, but the weight sure came back and with a vengeance.
Good work to @buxbert, @b_lisieux, @moodybear2003,
Welcome @Yennyboops,
Never give up! If you do, you never know what good surprises you might have missed.

Wow, I'm really impressed with how well all the challengers are doing with weight loss and good mental strengthening! That mental part is so crucial to weight loss. That is the part that I am learning about now. The not giving up, not panicking when you have a bad day, week, or month...s like me! Stay the course, do your best and keep in mind that it's a journey, not a trip and nothing can really derail you if you just keep on making the effort! I'm down 5.2 pounds so far this week. I've added carbs like pasta and oatmeal this time so that I don't have the starved idea in my head and my blood sugar is more stable. I've even had ice cream and my addiction (Crunchy Cheetos) and just tried to stay in the calorie goal for the day. I haven't started back walking on a daily basis but I have upped my steps, and increased my water, so I'm happy! The weekend is upon and it's sunny here, so I plan to be out and doing things and that will surely help!
@Yennyboops - Hey girl, you'll love this group, it's so encouraging and inspiring!5
