@kbeyer23 12 pounds is fantastic!
@dignow96 Amazing!
@b_lisieux Excellent! I hope you'll be around for future challenges. Have a great summer!
@EmergencyGraphics You still came out ahead. I was in the same boat for this challenge. I could've done much better with more effort.2 -
Think Spring! Challenge
Hooray for this spring challenge!!! I didn't hit my goal, but when I look back and consider what I've been going through during this challenge it's pretty good, considering! Losing 12lbs is a fantastic accomplishment! So I'm very happy with it even if it's not what I initially wanted. Onward!! (For those not in the know- my stepmother lost her battle with cancer March 19.)
Not going to lie...I have tears in my eyes as I type this. Here is proof that despite circumstances, we can choose to live a healthy life.2 -

Start Weight (Mar 01, 2018): 273.4
Goal Weight (Apr 27, 2018): 257.4
Weigh-ins, week of
Mar 09: 271.0 I will be out of town for the next two weeks, but I will eat to plan. I won’t have access to a scale at a predictable time or date, but I am still working my plan and in on this challenge.
Mar 16: 267.0 I am using a borrowed scale and I don’t completely trust it.
Mar 23: 268.0 Still out of town, and spending a lot of time in a hospital. Food and water have been issues, as well as the borrowed scale which reads a different number every time I step on it.
Mar 30: 268.0 My mother is dying. I can’t preplan and prepackage meals now. I’m hoping to just maintain for now.
Apr 06: 265.2 I am writing this on Sunday the 8th. My mother passed yesterday. I did still weigh every day.
Apr 13: 264.0 I am doing my best to log but don’t have internet access where I’m staying. I log in from my dad’s or my brother’s house as I can do so. Hate that my daily login streak broke, but what can I do. Service is tomorrow, and I’ll be here another week after that.
Apr 20: 262.2 I will be home on Sunday. I’m surprised given the circumstances.
Apr 27: 260.2 I didn’t make my goal, but considering all I’ve been through personally during this challenge, I am relieved to know I can stay on a healthy plan even with stress and grief.
Let’s do this again!

Not the result I was hoping for this week, but not surprised either. I had to re-weigh my self several times this morning because it didn't seem right.
I am proud of myself for sticking it out, and it's 9 pounds I don't have to carry around anymore, so it's a win! Congrats to all who met or exceeded their goal!6 -
Hmm, not sure why all of my "challenge" results didn't copy over. I stayed the same this week. I'll try to re-copy it here again. Sorry 'bout that. Congrats to all who finished the challenge!! No matter how much the scale changed in those 8 weeks, you won, just for being aware and mindful!
@birder165 Thanks for the kind words. I'll still be around this summer. Just will be gone some of the times and won't have access to a scale, plus just being away is harder in general, but I can still make decent choices. Eating out all the time is tough! I'll still have my laptop and will read and post when I have time.

We have so many people participating in these challenges. It's hard for me to keep up with all the names. I guess that is my age showing. I do want to congratulate all those that have lost or maintained their weight. For those that had a gain. Don't give up. Things will get better. If I can do this, trust me when I say this, anyone of you can do it. Cheers.5 -

@Birder165 Thanks Karen. Your doing very well yourself. Keep up the good work.
Just a little insight. Whenever I have gain large amounts of weight, the first 20 or 30 go quickly. Probably because my body in shock for not getting all the food it use it. Then it starts to slow down.2 -

I understand. Anything over 250 comes off pretty easily for me. I'm at the weight right now that I've settled in to for several years and it's a bit of a fight to get under but it's a goal I'm committed to. I haven't weighed under 200 pounds since 1994 when I quit smoking. I intend to get there by the end of this year and to goal next year sometime.
Everything about this attempt is different for me, mostly my attitude, so I'm very confident I will be successful.
I hope You and Everyone here has Success!

I kind of forgot about this whole challenge so I haven’t been good about the weekly post. Didn’t quite hit my goal of 285, but I did get to 288! So 20 lbs down for this challenge. Hope y’all are doing well!!

I liked this challenge! Not sure if it was it or the fact that my one year of effort is coming up on June 11. I really wanted to be under 200, now I want to be at 50 pounds down, which should be doable if I keep up the same pace.4 -
Monday: I've lost 1lb, I feel like it's not much at all, but its better than nothing.
Tuesday: I need to make some mini goals to reach, but I'm not sure what.
Raven, my only caution is to make this realistic and sustainable. Though I'd like to have all my weight off now having been at it this time for nearly 11 months, realistically my body and my ability to sustain the effort only works at +/-1 pound per week. Occasionally, I'll get a bigger drop, but it is rare. The wisdom I actually settled on is I didn't put it on in a year, why should I expect to take it off in a year. So, now I've settled on trying to do it over 3 years. Congratulations on getting this started and striving to get down for the Disney trip. I hope you'll join me on this long walk back to health.8 -
