I may switch back to the Fage yogurt - even though it has the sugar, only because it seems to keep me from craving / wanting other sugary treats.

I don't know how it compares to fage but our local stores here sell a brand call ZOI and I am a hardcore addict. I just love the flavors. The calories are a tad high(er than other lowfat yogurts) but so worth it! It packs a bit of extra protein as well since it's greek yogurt.

What kind of Fage yogurt are you eating that you are worried about the sugar? I only eat the plain stuff made with 0% fat milk and here are the stats for 1 cup of yogurt: 130 cal, 0g fat, 9g carbs (all sugar) and 23 grams of protein. Personally, I think that is the perfect ratio for sugar and it is way less sugar than other yogurts out there.

I haven't heard of ZOI, MyM0wM0w, but I will have to look for it. Thanks :)

nicholsvj- I get the kind with the tasty jellied fruit... I enjoy the plain, with fresh fruit, but have a hard time with the prep... <insert nice way to say how lazy I am, here>. I did try a couple of other things, and decided to stick to my guns about the Fage with fruit. I found a yoplait greek that someone had mentioned, and will give that a try. OR maybe I will end up being less lazy. ;) I really enjoy the flavor of the Fage plain.

Kelley- I finally got the chance to check out http://theconsciouslife.com/ and wow! Very interesting and helpful! Thank you! :) Refined flours are on there too... my theory about sugars and flours may be spot on. For years I have been in pain and wouldn't it be silly if all I had to do to get rid of it was to change my diet?

mnwalkingqueen- YAY on the house!!! I'm excited for you. Congratulations. :)

Jana - I know you CAN do this. You have the tools to be whatever you want to be. You are already heading in the right direction. Just breathe and move forward. If you trip over a rock, kick it aside and step a little more carefully on that part of the path. You got this. Have fun at your family reunion and take some healthy snacks with you! :)

Lana - TERRIFIC on the smaller size! I bet that felt awesome! Keep going! :drinker:

Christine - It sucks to have to slow down, I know! Good job listening to your body and doing what is best for it. I am usually pretty bad at that and wait until I am in too much pain to walk at all. Keep going- you are doing terrific and I am so inspired by you! :flowerforyou:

yeah, I find it hard to find yogurts that I really like. I have tried several fat free yogurts and Fage is by far the best flavor and texture profile I have found! I really love the Greek Gods yogurt, but the fat free one is gross and the good stuff just has way too much fat to make it worth while for me!

I like my plain with a tablespoon of raw honey (mostly for my allergies), fruit and some walnuts. My favorite lunch!

I started doing local raw honey for my allergies also... but find that it triggers allergies for me instead of helping. Have you done that long? I am wondering if maybe I just have to use less.....

Feeling pretty frustrated and stressed tonight. The scale hasn't moved in nearly 3 weeks. I pulled my food logs and checked to make sure stuff isn't sneaking in. They have some slips but overall I've been not terribly bad. I know I need to move more but 3 weeks and not a single lb? WTF? What's the point of this if all these changes aren't making a difference?!

    Ugh! Annoyed!

MyM0wM0w - Stay strong!!! Maybe it is your excellence at sticking to plan that is keeping things as is... what can you do to mix things up a bit? Change up the veggies and fruits (or add more), perform a different exercise activity, or maybe your stress levels are higher than normal? Don't let that silly number on the scale get you down... you are worth much more than that number.

Take care of you and everything will work out. ~hugs~

I forgot to write down who had the losses and bought smaller clothes. Whoever you were...YAY!!!

@Vinsohn - me personally, I picked a pace in between my walk and jog, (I walked at 2.5 and jogged at 3.5, so I put 3 for 30 mins.). I know, probably not the best way, and I may not do it that way tomorrow, but I was lazy. :blushing: Wrapping your ankle could be a good idea. But maybe waiting a bit to run and working up to it to strengthen it along the way may be good too. Awesome job on the program though! Isn't it exciting?

@MyM0wM0w - You've lost 93 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How awesome is that! Plateu's are part of the process. Look at how far you've come and realize how much of an inspiration you are to the rest of us! Keep it up! Change your workout routine. That could be all it'll take. Your body is used to what you're doing, so change it up. But don't get discouraged! You've lost so much, and I can't wait until I'm as awesome as you are!

Wed wish.... that I had more time to read all my homework assignments and to still be able to go for my walk everyday.

Thurs truth... I hate sharing a house with my sister. That's just been on my mind today and it was the only thing I could think of to write.

Here's hoping tomorrow is a better day and that my teacher doesn't give me too much crap for the paper I quickly wrote tonight so i would have something to show tomorrow. HEhehe. Ever the procrastinator.

    Til next time...goodnight!

MyMowMow... hang in there and like others have said just try something new. Try a fitness class you always wanted to try or go swimming, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, or even just take out one thing that you have been unable to let go of ( if you even still have one) Just keep at it and it will get better.

I hope I get to see a 93 lb loss too one day. And if all else fails know that you did that.

    Morning all!

Wednesday Wish - That I didn't feel so tired. I get plenty of sleep and I sleep really well, I'm just tired all day. I'm really trying to workout more too.

Have you had a sleep study done, might be sleep apneia (sp) I was that way and needed CPAP and oxygen.

Yes I have. I think it's just because of all the hours I've been working screws up my schedule. I'll be happy when things slow down here. It also doesn't help that I dream about work and I come up with solutions in my sleep.

Haven’t heard much about the weather this morning---I did hear hundreds of thousands are without power. Hope this storm is over soon, everyone stays safe and the power is back on soon for those affected.

@KellyLyn4 – I hope the interview went well! Hoping for good news for you soon regarding the job.

@janak2004 – try to enjoy the reunion and the suggestion to take something healthy along that you can eat is a great idea. Sorry to hear of the leg cramps. I hope next time you work on the C25K program this does not happen.

@Morgori – screaming computer update! Happy gaming to you.

@naceto – how are you feeling now? I hope your hip is not troubling you and that you will succeed on all goals you set before you! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrowl.

Lana – super that your clothing size is SHRINKING. Love it!! That is wonderful news.

@nicheven – yes, I hope it does cool down; it’s almost September for gosh sakes. Don’t know where you are located but we’re spiking back up as well here in Iowa. They are warning perhaps upwards of 100 degrees today. Schools are planning on early dismissal again today.

Christine – you are doing a great job and also are so sensible. You know when you have to scale back your walks a bit and don’t try to push through it and cause yourself harm. That is very wise of you. You are doing great and even if you do your walking in 10 minute increments (which I know you are not) I heard a podcast about women and exercise which indicated that women are in general quite successful long term but doing multiple segments of exercise each day rather than one long session. I’m sorry I cannot find the documentation for that.

    @vidvox – enjoy your time away---that doesn’t happen often.

@CathyEsth – hoping you do feel better soon. Coughing just wears a person out. You’ll get everything fit in once you’re on the mend. And glad you’ve overcome the allure of that banana bread!

Back later I hope. Meanwhile, wishing everyone well.

Thursday's Truth: I have really been not taking time out for me which means no walking and I hate it. Just seems like there is never enough time in the day since school started on Monday.
My teenager is out of control with lying, respect and core values. I know part of it is he is trying to find himself but I feel he is turning into a pathalogical liar. Seems like shrinks don't help probably because he sugar coats things to them to be the victim.
To the nurses out there here is my question- When my partner was in the hospital last week the lady drawing blood messed up think she put the needle through his vein. Now when he get mad or angry the spot where she missed grows into a big bump and hurts. I am concerned about this he is not - should he be?

So, it has been crazy with my oldest son starting school. (kindergarden) its been so different at home with out him and just me and the younger 2 but its been nice. I have been trying to stay commited to this and I have not been terribly bad even tho I have not been able to be on here much. My husband finally decided that he was on board with helping me lose weight (it has only taken me 6 years of asking) and someone at work with him wanting to lose weight too, but none the less he is doing it. He even got his own page on mfp so that was an encouragement. well today i will go take the boys and the dog for a nice long walk before it gets to be too hot. and this weekend is my anniversary so i dont think i will be paying too much attention to what im eating but im not going to go crazy. we are just goning to enjoy what ever it is that we decide we are going to do. hope everyone has a great and fun weekend

Wishing you success in your studies and with your sister. After my husband died I shared my home with 1st my MIL, then my mother and SF then my sister and her 2 children. I was much happier when they all moved on. It is good to help people out, but it is also good to see them move on with their lives too.

Good morning all, it is a beautiful morning out there, even a little cool. I want you all to know your encouragement and comments are very helpful, thank you all. I know I don't do personals as much as I should, but do the best I can. Thursday truth - I am worried about my 23 year-old son. He has ADHD and was fired from a job in the spring and became suicidal. After getting help and finally getting another job after 3 months of being out of work he found one that he loves. Now he has received 2 warnings and if he gets another he will be fired from this job. I am praying he is able to focus more and I am going to talk to him about getting back on adderol.

Praying everyone has a blessed day.

Thanks all for the encouragement/support. It means the world to me. :flowerforyou: I'll keep on trucking, I don't have any other choice. I can't go back. I will join the local aquatic club and add swimming to my exercise. I got my suit out of the mailbox this morning. I'll try it on tonight and I'll be able to pay to join in about two weeks. At the very least it'll be good for me to get out of the house and do something. Work, grocery shop, and home are about the only 3 places I ever see.

Thursday truth - I truly and honestly miss being able to ease my sorrows with an entire bag of cheesie puffs, a pint of Hagan Daz, and a good movie. I know there are substitutes and I'l never go back but they were like old friends. :noway:

I am so far behind in this group. Darn night shifts really messed with my sleeping/eating/exercising/posting but I think I'm back on a normal schedule now. Will try to get back on later but for now...

Wednesday Wish - That I could keep up with this group. I love it here but I feel like I'm doing everyone a disservice by not keeping up. I want to be able to offer more encouragement because I know I appreciate getting it from others.

Thursday Truth - My trainer is on vacation and I have absolutely no motivation to exercise. I went to the gym once this week and will go again tomorrow but I'm not looking forward to it.

linder - so sorry to hear about your father's fx. hip - take care of him and take care of yourself while away. Hope all goes well.:flowerforyou:

vanimelda - have yourself a Happy Anniversary without too much worry about calories. Just try to shave a few hundred calories here and there from lunch and supper in the days preceding the dinner so you have some leeway to indulge without fear it will damage your overall calorie count for the week. You'll do great that way!

Christine - I will keep your son in my thoughts that he keep his job. He does have to learn that even though he has the diagnosis of ADHD he can't fall back on it when he gets written up at work. He has to own his mistakes. Its a hard lesson to learn and I don't know his particular situation, but bosses just have little tolerance for excuses of any kind, so he has to become super vigilant as a way of life if he wants to hang on to his job. Perhaps if he were to talk over his routine tasks with you it would help imbed them in his mind better and make him better at his job.

MyMowmow - Ah, I morn your old friends too. But your swim suit sounds like it could become your new best friend - and swimming your new love! I'm excited for you. Remember, think of it like play!

walkingqueen - so happy for you - finally a home of your own for you and your new family!

tungsten - no need to apologize - we'll take your presence when we can get it!

@Linder - I'm in Socal, but im originally from Canada, so I'm already not use to this high heat but definately not with this wave thats been going through.

@Walking - I did that too when I was in middle school, lied and stole from my parents. They caught me one time and for some reason out of all the times they had talked to me, that time broke my heart. I think it was the look on my dad's face..the hurt there was too much. Hopefully your son will come around soon.

@vanimelda - eat whatever you enjoy, don't worrk about one day or one weekend when its a celebration and not an all the time thing. Gotta have some spoiling now and again :D

@Monarchris - prayers that your son does better. You might suggest to him as well to see his dr about nutrition on top of the medication, I had a friend who's ADHD was aggrivated by her body not processing certain foods properly. Once they got that and the right meds she became a lot more focused. It doesnt necessarily help everyone but might be something to look into!

@Mowmow - Swimming is a fantastic exercise. I really want to be able to add this in too, I just hate my body so much right now I don't want to be in a swimsuit. You're very strong to be able to do this and keep away from your old friends. My inspiration!

@tungsten - life has a way of sneaking up on all of us, I'm sure none of us minds if you only have time to pop in now and again. You're still here and truckin along!

My Thursday Truth - I'm lazy. I havent been going to the gym as much as I should and I know it. My knee has been bothering me a bit but I feel like I'm using it as an excuse and I should still be going, but somehow I still don't go. I've skipped 2 of my scheduled gym days this week so far. *sigh*

Thursday Truth:: This past week or 2 I have really just lost focus. Especially this past week I have been eating whatever whenever and I've noticed I'm eating when I'm not hungry. I haven't exercised in a few weeks either. WHAT is wrong with me? I don't know.
But I do know this. I'm stopping this now. I am getting back to eating and tracking and exercising. I have to. I WANT to. I know once I start doing it all again I will be happy. I have been depressed feeling lately and I believe this is a reason why. I hate my scale right now. I have gained. As of this morning since my lowest tracked weight it says I've gained 10lbs. Yeah I'm not letting that fly. That scale will go down. And I will get back to it. I'm starting with the tracking. I'm going to try and get some exercise in tonight, think my daughter and I are going swimming after I get off work. Either way, sorry for being MIA. But I'm back.

I had a cookie my daughter had put in my purse, and it looked good and smelled good I almost ate it. But I threw it away. That's a start at heading back in the right direction. I can't believe I have let the food win this last week/weeks. I can't believe I could even eat like that. But I'm done now. I will lose. I am 24lbs away from "onederland" I HAVE TO AND WILL GET THERE.

I was supposed to have started my workout schedule back up this week. But it didn't happen I had my alarm set on Monday and just hit snooze until I had to get up and get ready for work. I want to get my workouts done in the morning, means I have to get up early. WHATEVER it takes.

It's like my mind is telling me to get back at it and so is my body then my mind goes to wanting to eat and say screw it. It's conflicting. But my will to lose weight and be healthy will always win over the alternative.

    Have a wonderful Thursday!

Tina - re-committing is so darn hard! I've been there, and sometimes it takes a lot of false starts. Throwing away that cookie was an excellent choice on your part. You've been "off" or down for quite a while now, and I wonder what's really bugging you. Are you wearing baggy clothes? Is someone in your household eating unhealthy snacks in front of you? Why is your daughter slipping cookies in your purse? I still think you need some kind of commitment ceremony to really strike home that you're back on the wagon. Maybe you need to go to the Goodwill and get some skinny clothes and give up something baggy that you've been wearing around for a long time. Holding out for that Coach purse I think is not enough reward for you right now. Its become somehow mythological. Not really "real" enough for you to work toward. I hope you find the lion or tiger inside you to get on the exercise bandwagon again. You've always been an inspiration for me, but perhaps that is too big a burden for you right now. Maybe you need to be an inspiration to yourself right now.

Thursday truth: I am not feeling great today. Even my boss said that I don't look like I feel good. I am trying to get through the day but I am so sluggish and can not concentrate. I've almost fallen asleep here at my deck a few times only to be stirred by the phone. My right eye is super droopy as well which means my headache is only going to get worse. The good news is that my rash thing on my neck is starting to go away. I am very thankful my mom offered to go to the store for me when she gets off work to get the stuff for my yumtastic tortilla chicken rollup because i dont think i could have done it. I think when i make it this time im going to wrap it in cabbage (<3) instead of a tortilla to cut down on calories and carbs. I am going to put it in the recipe maker and find out the nutritional value and maybe tweak it a bit to be healthier. I'll post pic and recipe later or tomorrow if anyone wants it.

@Lamypie. I've always had ankle issues and always will. I think wrapping it would be my best option and getting better shoes. I ended up kicking mine off half way through and my ankle did much better with no shoes. I think if I had started with no shoes I would have finished it. I am going to a specialist running shoe store most likely tomorrow to get fitted for the proper shoes and to find the best way to wrap my ankle. Thankfully they do that there too and that they are super close. (Sorry if I got you name wrong i forgot to jot it down)

    Have a great Thursday

    ~Lana
