Confessions

I got some....

i used to go to places when they go 2 meals for a cheaper price deals and buy both, eat them both, I was past caring what anyone thinks!

Basically in general i lost any shame of peopleseeing what a pig I was, i wasnt able to hie it so i learnt to blank it.

I used to hide my food packets in my room!!

I used to eat KFC bucket by myself!

I get really upset if people mention my weight, i try to get the conversation away from that if it ever goes- I DONT LIKE PEOPLE TO EVEN NOTICE MY WEIGHT bu i fear they DO!

I sometimes felt weirdly proud of how much I can eat, like it is a skill.I still do in many ways. is that really bad?

Do you have them?

  • I totally understand! Sometimes I felt proud of how much dessert I could pack in!

When I went out to eat with friends, I would ask if they will finish her dessert so that I could have it and they would watch in amazement! But thats over. I want my new talentto be saying no and looking great in my news clothes!

I used to eat whole family sized bags of chips that my boyfriend bought for himself from Sam's Club. I'd hide the empty bags in the bathroom trash can so he wouldn't find them! I was like a bottomless pit!
  • I've eaten a whole medium pizza before. :/
I try not to order pizza anymore.

Also, when it comes to ordering Chinese food, I know that what I ordered is really meant to serve more than one person, but I would still eat it all.
So now I just try not to order out. Period.

i used to eat two containers of fried rice three times a week, every week >.> each container had like four servings....
  • I bought the drumstick ice cream pack from Costco and ate over half the box in one sitting

Sometimes for dinner I would get the family size bag of chips with a jar of cheese dip and eat the entire thing

I'm not sure how many Jack in the Box tacos I can eat, but so far 12 is the most I've ordered at one time

I've eaten so much, I have literally felt skin stretch

    And the list goes on....

I ate a whole half-gallon of Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough in 1 week! O.o That was the week before I started MFP, when I realized I could probably use some help watching what I eat. lol
  • I think the reason why I started gaining weight was because I was actually proud of how much I could eat...

family size LEmon Lays and Hot CHeetos with cream cheese all in one sitting at least 2 a month
cheesy gordita crunch with a quesdilla and a taco every day after work 5 times a week
two hamburgers when ever I would go out and eat burgers with french fries

    I'm emarrased to even continue.

One of my biggest confessions is that I'm scared to make this life style change. It seems so unrealistic for me.

We are all scared of this. I have lost a total of 42 lbs before MFP and 29 since joining. I quit smoking, the doctor has taken me off both blood pressure and cholesterol medication and the list goes on and on. I love myself now. I will never go back to the old me. Never!

Oh yes. I have them. I once ate a whole box of donuts. I used to buy king size candy bars and hide them in my dresser. Then eat them when no one was home and hide the trash. It has been years since I have had that behaviour but I think all of us here on this site have at least one confession.

If I'm alone with a large bag of potato chips, only one of us will come out alive and very thirsty.
  • I was so humiliated at one point I wouldn't go into Mcdonalds to eat with my family. I won't eat food in public, and if I do I feel like an animal in a zoo.

Whenever I'm in public I constantly adjust my shirt because my insecurity of my manboobs.

    Lol.

I exaggerate these ideas in my head for no reason, probably because I'm not somebody meant to be this size. I will never feel accepted as this.
  • sometimes if I binge, I buy stuff in several different shops so the cashiers won't judge me! as if being judged by a cashier is worse than eating a large chocolate bar and enough bags of crisps and full-sugar fizzy drinks to feed a family for a day :(

The biggest challenge to me eating healthier is the fact that my boyfriend is, too. I feel like, the better he gets at cutting out added sugar, the more compelled I feel to have sugar when no one is watching.

I also love the feeling of being completely stuffed, as opposed to just sated.

I ate an entire loaf of bread on Friday night. Because it was tasty and I was hungry.

Let's see - I used to finish off my friends' meals when we went out after eating all my own, though I never put on weight then, I couldn't do it now.

I smoked on and off for a few years.

At one point my idea of a Saturday night in when my OH was away was a bottle of red wine, a large packet of Kettle Chips and a tub of hummous, that was after eating my tea, as someone else said only one of us came out alive, although didn't feel quite so alive Sunday morning.

I used to go to beer festivals and drink 8 pints in a night.

I will still, if put in front of a buffet at a party, pig out on cheese and biscuits and bits and pieces of quiche and pies, because if it's just lots of different things it doesn't countr, right? Wrong. I have to try and avoid buffets.

There was a time in my life when I was able to eat an entire DiGiorno's pizza by myself. I think there was also a time when I was able to eat an entire Costco Pizza by myself. I am not proud of those moments.

One time I went to eat with my friends at a Pizza place, we all shared a large. I had maybe 3 or 4 slices. Then promptly walked across the street to Burger King for a triple whopper. Also not proud of this moment.

Then there was the time I went to a sushi place that was all you can eat. They refused to serve me anymore tako (octopus) after eating about 30 or so (including rice, nori, and the octopus on top).

That was only a few years ago, I'm making a change for the better.

Please don't call yourself a pig. You are a person with overeating problems as are many of the people on this site. You are dealing with those problems as best you can by joining the site. Calling yourself insulting names won't help you deal with overeating. Best of luck.
  • At eater time I would eat tonnes and tonnes of chocolate on a daily basis without a care in the world.
Even things like having two large bowls of pasta followed by a large bowl of ice cream and topping like once a week.
MFP def opened my eyes up to how much I was really devouring!!
  • for a few months i was eating the entire package of DOVE CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM BARS- THATS 3 bars every day...& if i happened to buy 2 Packages that day i'd eat all 6 sometimes! baaaaaam

oh & i could & would & used to easily polish off a JAR OF NUTELLA WITHIN 24 hrs!!! looool,,,and i'm damn proud of it!

Gluttony is one of the seven cardinal sins for a reason. We use food to fill up our cravings, to the point that our health is compromised. And then we die young, of all kinds diseases cause by our uncontrolled appetites. There is a spiritual side to over-eating that we can't afford to overlook.

Wow confessions...am I brave enough to admit this...?

I have been known to get a large Wicked Zinger Tower meal from KFC drive through then go to McDonalds drive through and get a cheeseburger and a McFlurry when I was hungover...more than once :blushing: I convinced myself it was ok because it would fix my hangover...

Getting 2 meals from either McDonalds or KFC isnt unheard of either...I would get one diet coke with the small meal and a regular with the large meal and say "I think thats all he wanted" as if I was buying it for my other half...I dont have an other half...!

Eating a share size bag of doritos with salsa or cream cheese on an evening was fairly standard...with a couple of beers of course. I would have that instead of tea as my justification to myself.

I still miss eating huge amounts of KFC...it's my own personal demon!!

Oh wow, just evertyhing anyone says about eating things by the packet! I try now to buy things not in big packets but it is hard as the seldom come in individuual packaging. It is just that I always was terrible at umm... LEAVING food. If there is a packet, I wanted to empty it; he food always run out before my appetite!
I know right mrshoneydew... please don't tell me I'm the only one here who did the old 2 cans 'trick'... I order 2 cans of pop with my takeaway as it was clearly enought for at least 2 and I was trying to trick them that I wasn't going to eatit all myself!!!

Batsheba I am the same. I like being really full and I like eating loads. I am trying to get over that but in hinesty that is still my feelings.

Grassette, I am a Catholic and somtimes I worry about the sinning side of things but I try not to think about it because I ccan't deal with that thought that I might be being immoral. I can't copewith that,I'm a good man and a good Catholic, am just trying to get on with the health side of things.

Guess we all have to say something in this thread, but... how exactly is that helping to our cause?
    Not being sarcastic, just curious.
