    Way to go, Ivy!

Day 2 on the stationary bike and I can't wait to graduate to the elliptical - my butt hurts!

I've been putting off the 20 min run because I'm scared. I made it through the 8 minute intervals no problem but running 20 min straight sounds so scary to me!

Way to go! It's not as hard as we make it out to be. Mind over matter.

Aw, I'll talk to you!!
I felt stagnant -- just being able to run longer and longer times, but not being able to run faster, really. So I kicked my butt into gear and now I've started going back through C25K with 2 running speeds. I was jogging 40+ minutes at like 3.7mph. I'm going through week 3 again at a jogging speed of 3.8mph and a running speed of 5.1mph -- I add a couple more intervals to it so that I don't lose my endurance/stamina. Much better! The "I'm gonna puke" feeling is back and it feels great. I feel a lot of improvement with every speed workout. So far, I recommend this as a way to work on speed after completing C25K. Then again, I'm definitely no expert.

I finally got back off the bench! My knees are doing better so I redid w2d3 yesterday, and I'm psyched to start w3 tomorrow. Plus, I found a training goal! There's this race in New Yor this October, that's a regular 5K plus obstacles. http://www.downanddirtymudrun.com/ny.cfm It sounds like a lot of fun, and it supports a great charity, so I'm going to register for it once I finish C25K. (I want to make sure I can do it before I pay $40)

W3d1 delayed... I was supposed to go to the gym after class, but instead I spent two hours running around my campus looking for my cell phone. At least someone found it, and I'm getting it back tomorrow.

Normally i can't find time to work out on Wednesdays, but today I didn't have any homework and decided to go to the gym instead of dinner... Good choice! I did w3d1 and I managed to run the 3-minute cycles solid, in spite of myself.

That is awesome! I would have chosen the dinner:laugh:

W8D1 finished. Only 5 more runs or jogs left. I will be out of town next week and away from my treadmill, I'm scared I will lose my mojo. Does running in circles around the room count? I thought about running outside but I've never done it before and don't want to do it. Maybe I can find an indoor track? Perhaps I'll just do the leslie one mile jog dvd and hopefully that will keep me on track. I'm rambling. ... to myself

Google maps can help you find a school with a track nearby. Type in your location and "search nearby" for high schools, colleges, and universities. Start with the nearest one, and switch over to street or satellite view to see if it has a track. I'm running on a track while I'm home this weekend.

W8 Day 2 done. It's amazing how much easier it becomes at the end. I feel like I can do the rest of the days back to back but I won't push it.

Wrapping up week 3 today after class. I'm excited! I feel like I might have to repeat this week though. I bought a heart rate monitor over the weekend, and i was shocked to find that my max heart rate was 192, in the red zone. I'm going to try slowing my pace a little and see if that helps.

Finished up week 3 today; slowed down for the longer runs, and it worked out pretty well. Looking forward to week four!

Did W4D2 today and burned 346cals. Definately think I am going to have to do this week over again. I can't quite do the whole week without some modifications. Can't quite seem to jog for 5 min the second time through.

I had to slow it down in week 4 too. I was at the max heart rate also. I did week 4 for 3 weeks and jlb mentioned I move on and slow down. Doing it on the treadmill you feel like you should keep up a certain speed but sometimes you have to slow down. Endurance is more important than speed at this stage.

I am not at home so I probably won't do week 9 until next week. My allergies are killing me. All thsese cherry blossom trees are a nuisance.

W4D1 kicked my butt today. I managed the first two runs, but during the second 3-minute run, I got a stitch in my side and I had to slow down just to keep breathing. I got that under control, but it killed my second 5-minute run. I just couldn't do it. I tried, and took a break, and tried again, and then just walked the rest of it at a 2% incline. I know exactly why I couldn't do it, though - everything bloomed this week, so I can't breathe real well, and last night I made some bad decisions in the weight room, from which my legs have yet to fully recover. Note to self: only do leg work on Fridays, when I have Saturday to recover before my Sunday run.

Completed week 4 today. I acutally was able to complete all of day 3 without any modifications. Not sure if I will redo week 4 or give week 5 a shot. Will decide on Sunday.

I walk at anywhere from 3.5-3.7, and job anywhere from 4.5-5.0.
