Taking a break on Sunday since today was gym day. Will do L1D8 and C25K tomorrow. How is everybody else doing? Haven't really noticed any weight loss yet but my husband keeps saying that I look smaller. Maybe I am building some muscle?? See you tomorrow.0

I have only lost 1 pound this week but I ate out twice and missed exercise completely one day. I definitely can tell a difference in my endurance. I can now make it through the jumping jack/jump rope cardio without stopping to rest. I can tell that my legs are toning up. I really enjoy the workout. Twenty minutes is easy to fit in.0 -
I started the shred on the 1st at 210.6 and yesterday I weighed 207.4 for a loss of 3.2 pounds! I also do 45-60 min of additional cardio though, because I'm on winter break and really trying to jumpstart my weight loss again! I did take a rest day one week into it to give my muscles a break and I noticed I came back much stronger with better form (and went down a whole pound) after a rest day, so don't count those out!0

Today I definitely need to shred... I skipped yesterday to give my muscles a break!! I'm not only doing the shred... I also have a strength class and a cardio class at the gym I do...
Today, I was bad at lunch so instead of sitting around and beating myself up about it, I'm going to SHRED!!!
This will be L1 D5 for me :happy:0 -

Tamelab- Are you still burning 210 calories or was that just when you started the Shred?
I ordered the 30 Day Shred & can't wait to start. I just got into my routine on Jan 4th, & have been riding the bike 7days a week & doing upper body every other day & I do the Wii Fit 45mins everyday just for more cardio.
I have some questions about the program though. Am I correct when I say that the Shred comes with 3 DVD's, 3 Different Levels & each are 20 mins long?
Are we supposed to do each level for 7 Days or are we doing it as long as we see fit to before moving onto the next level?
I am going to continue riding the bike & lifting weights on alternate days & will add in 3- 10 Min Trainer workouts in until my 30 Day Shred arrives.
Any feed back is appreciated, thanks!!!!0 -
I am loving the shred so far. its good and Ican definately see an improvement in my endurance as well. I find the jump rope/jacks to be the killer too!
I am also starting to run again this week. Its freezing uphere in Canada but I was running up to 5km and now I definately need to get back to that. I found that running 3x a week and doing the shred gave me the best results...nothing like fitting into a size smaller jeans
Im glad that everyone else is seeing improvements!!! Keep up the great work everyone!!!0 -

Hey there...I just go by what MFP says I burn right now as far as calories go, which is 214 for my weight on the circuit training for 20 minutes. My heart rate is definitely still up there and I am soaked when I finish, so it is probably pretty accurate. I hope to get a HRM soon that will give me more accurate calories burned. Several people have recommended the Reebok HRM for about $40. There is just one DVD in the case and it has 3 different workout levels on it. Each workout is 20 minutes long. When you start the DVD it will give you a choice of workouts to choose from a list. I plan on doing 10 days of each level. I have three more days on level 1 and then will move up. I watched level 2 and it looks terribly hard so I'm in no hurry I know with some of the DVD's it is an add-on workout where you add level 1 to level 2 and keep going until you are doing all 3 levels at the same time. From what I can tell so far, they expect you to complete level 1 and then move on to level 2, then level 3, only working out 20 minutes each day. Hope this makes sense and helps you out. Good luck!0 -

I am trying to start running. I have never been a runner but am currently doing the Couch to 5K program. I am on week six. You do a mixture of running and walking until you can build up your endurance to run a 5K. I can now run about 20 minutes without dying. When I first started, I could not run the 90 second intervals. I find that each time I run I enjoy it more.0 -
I just started a few days ago...did L1D3 today. The arm part is SO hard! I don't have a problem with anything else, but I find myself having to just do the leg movements without lifting b/c my arms are on fire. Does this get better??
Oh and I have a hrm and it gives me variable cal burns each time, anywhere from 280-308 (today). I was surprised it was so high, because I consider myself moderately fit. Yay for burning that much in only 27 minutes!!! :bigsmile:0 -

The only thing I have a problem with is the push ups .... I HATE THEM!!!!! But I do them anyway... I have to take 5 second breaks throughout though... I don't do as many as they do on the DVD... I'm working up to it though... I'm doing a little more each time...0 -
yeah, I really don't know how anyone can do this 30 days straight! I'm thinking Jillian intended this to be a 30 day shred...meaning do this workout for 30 days...period....not necessarily in a row...sorta adjust it to work for you...so...with that being said...I finished D7L1 today! I feel great! I weighed in on Friday...and I was down 2.8 lbs!! YES!! I also purchased Jillians 5 disc box set "The Biggest Winner"....and I did the 1st DVD....and it was, to me, very similar to the shred...meaning...she does the circuit training there too...just for longer periods of time! i am so excited going into week 2!! have a fabulously fit week ladies and gents!!0

L1D7 it felt good to be Shredding again after the weekend off. After reading everyones posts I'm starting to wonder how I can fit in my cardio (walking/running) and shredding. I'm thinking next week I might start cardio MWF, shred on TU, THR, Sat.
I haven't done any measurements/weigh, I probably won't till closer to the 30 days, I only do it about once a month.
 Shredding:flowerforyou:0 -
L1D8 done! Definitely getting easier - I upped the weights today to keep the sweat up. I think I'm about ready for L2, but will do L1 2 more times at the higher weight.0
-
Just finished L1 D6 !! I am feeling GREAT!!! I can really feel my arms and legs getting toned!! Sticking with the shred this time0
-
Just finished L1D8. It is a lot easier and I have increased my weights. I will do 2 more days on this level (Wednesday and Friday) and then I will move to level 2.0
-
Well, I moved on to level 2 today....and it KICKED MY BUTT!! it hasn't been 10 days on level 1...but I really felt I needed more of a push...so I'll maybe do 12 days on Level 2...I definitely know I'll be feeling this tomorrow!! LOL!!0
-
I did Level 2 today!!! I wasn't sure I could do it, but I did it! It's definitely hard, but Anita is still there with the modified moves (and I needed them!) I'm blogging about the whole experience. Check it out if you get a chance.

I just "followed" you on blogspot so I could read it later..... When when you see this random person now following you, you will know who it is! congrats on pushing yourself!! :drinker:0 -
I did Beginner's Frontside yesterday, a few hours after doing the L1D8 of the Shred. It was pretty much the same thing as the shred, but twice as long and doesn't flow as well. But if you're looking for extra, it's not a bad supplement. I was still sweating buckets when I was done.
Be back later....0 -
Thank you Tamelab for the info. I ordered a HRM & got me a new pair of sneakers so when my 30 Day Shred comes in I am ready & in full effect.
You ladies have me so amped over it I can't wait to feel the pain you all are feeling. I am riding the bike & doing the 10 Min Trainers until it arrives.
I will be following you to Emily!!!
Keep up the great work everyone!!! :flowerforyou:0 -

I seriously need to get an HRM !0 -
I did L2 D1, I did it by accident, played the wrong workout and it wouldn't let me go back without listening to Jillian talk again. I wish I could skip that part, after hearing it once I don't need to keep hearing it.
Level 2 was not to bad but I did stay with Anita, I don't think I'll ever be able to do some of those moves like Natalie does!
I'm going to check out emily's blog,

L1D9 done! After reading posts about it, I'm downright scared to start L2 on Thursday! Friday's my anniversary and I don't want to be L1D1 sore!!0

You are welcome. Which HRM did you choose? Do you mind me asking what you had to pay for it? It sounds like you are ready to go. Keep us posted and good luck!0 -

No problem at all Tammy! I bought the Polar F6 for $90 from Amazon. I saw it before for $119 at Walmart & Target so I am happy with the buy. I will definitely let you know how it is once I get it. :flowerforyou:0 -
