Something to consider is that not all jobs allow visible tattoos. I work for a company like that. You can't have visible piercings or tattoos - even on the ankle/wrist. I work in a hospital, and sometimes you have to have your hair up, but still can't show tattoos. You would need to cover them with bandages. So that's something to think to about. If you ever want to join the corporate world and move up, then visible tattoos could be a disadvantage.

I have 11....yes 11 there all very special to me and I don't regret any of them, I planed each out carefully an made the sure I went to a reputable artist. They are all concealed and unless I wear a tank top you can't even tell I have ANY. As long as your careful with placement (for career purposes) and with artist choice ( so u get what you want how you want it) you'll be good :)

I love my tat! I got it when I was about 37 and don't regret it at all. There is no personal meaning behind it, but it is something that I thought on for a while before I actually had it done. I do want another one, but I haven't come up with anything that sticks for more than a month or so, and I don't want any regrets. Right now I am contemplating another on my right shoulder blade, but I am giving it time to be sure the interest in it doesn't fade. Do yourself a favor and don't make any rash decisions.

I have a full color Siberian Tiger head on my left hip. WARNING!!! They are addictive. Am ready for my next one. Old teddy bear holding balloons. Each balloon I want in my kids and grandkids birthstone colors.. Think why you want one and what it represents to you before making the leap.

go big or go home. my tattoo artist suggested for my first tattoo to go bigger than i originally visioned and i'm so glad i did, became a half backpiece. so i'd say go bigger and get more detail. and make sure you go to a good artist. and never ever pick something off the wall!

Yes..but then when it comes to tattoos, no one else's opinion matters, at all. I'm nearly 42 and currently having a full sleeve done, to add to the 8 tattoos I already have...Its a personal thing, I didnt have them done, to be fashionable, in fact when I had my first tats it was highly unfashionable specially for women. I had them done because I have loved tattoos since I was a child.

Personally if you have to ask for opinions on whether to have one or not then I would say dont bother, its not something to get done if you are not totally thrilled and excited about the idea. I have never had to ask anyone if they think tattoos are a good or bad idea for me, I am having tattoos the rest of the world can lump it...its a longer commitment than most marriages these days so you have to be totally convinced that its what you want. Agree with other folks, if you are getting one then go to a really good artist, check out their work, make sure they can do the style you are interested. My sleeve is based on a comic book so I went to an artist that specialises in new school and comic book tattoos, kinda obvious really I guess.

    I have a tattoo...medium sized but it's in a spot where you can't see it 24/7.
I like tattoos to a point, I don't like when people cover every inch of their bodies in them.

As girly and conservative as I appear I have a tattoo. Its a private one that I got for myself but with my family in mind. Hubby wanted me to get a butterfly, I wanted flowers on a vine and kids wanted me to put their dad's name on there. We're married over 20 years so yes I put his name on it. Its a small butterfly on a vine with 3 flowers (one for each child) and under the vine is my husbands name. No one can see it but me and hubby  Kids told me much later that it was a tramp stamp to which I was mortified BUT its not like I wear low rise pants and show it off or anything. Although I would love to moon my uptight snooty relatives some day lol     I joke that hubby's name is there since he's always on my *kitten* anyway lol

I also like tattoos. I have two and want one more. I have my sons name and now I want my daughters name. I have a Phoenix too but everyone thinks it's a sparrow or something. I want that one removed. Shouldn't have had my dad tattoo me when I was 19 lol. But I think tattoos on men are hot. I guess it gives that bad boy look. You know the one lol.

However, I saw a girl at Walmart with her neck all tatted up and I thought it looked....well stupid and ugly to be honest. It all depends how they're done I suppose. IMO anyway :)

Tattoos are for lower class individuals. I'm not just talking about those born to underprivileged families, but specifically about people who are just "trashy" deep down inside. They are ugly and will merely serve to let the rest of the world know what kind of scumbag you really are. Oh yeah, you will also likely go to Hell.
