I'm 4'11 (so an inch too short for this thread!). The Pic of me and my husband was taken 1 month after having my son and weighing around 120. I'm now 100lbs. Which I achieved through an all over weight lifting programme, 3 times a week. Going as heavy as possible with free weights. Goal now is to get totally shredded.2

I found the thread inspiring and just a tad discouraging! Most of ladies' starting weight here is my goal weigh! Oh well...slowly, but surely...

gemmamummy congrats! you look great!
how much cardio did you do while you were lifting 3x a week. i don't know if I want to focus on shedding fat right now or building muscle and THEN shedding fat.0 -
I'm 153cm, or a titch over 5'. Heaviest weight was 195 in January 2010. Got down to 157 in June 2010, then moved states and totally fell of the wagon.
Fast forward to January this year, I was back to 186 Have now gotten down to 144 and would like to lose another 15 pounds before deciding if that's enough or not
January 2012 - 186 pounds (84.5kg)
A couple of weeks ago at dog obedience training - 144 pounds (65.4kg)
Great job everyone!!!! Traciemc, love the doggie, I have a male, he is awesome0 -

@Wills820 - Thank you. I did 20 mins of cardio at the end of my session. 10 mins running and 10 mins on cross trainer.....I hate cardio. With regards to your goals; do you know your current body fat%?1 -

It's been a while since I've gotten the calipers done, but I haven't changed much. It's probably hovering somewhere around 21%0 -
This is my 1st post on here...started using the fitness pal app 18 days ago and I am so happy with how accountable it has made me. Im 33, 5'1 mother/wife to 3 kids. I began my journey at 190 lbs and at my 2 week weigh in, I had lost 5.6 lbs! I have signed up for my first 5k in May and am working on eating healthy and working out. My goal is to be arpund 125 and lose all this FAT that is sitting all over my body. I was small my whole life til I became pregnant 11 yrs ago and its been a downward spiral ever since. Beyond excited to be on this journey!!0

I was hoping for around 140, but that still leaves me 60 to go with 38 lost already - still it's our individual goal and who's to say that that will be our final goal.. once we are there - well who can say we have just got to go one day at a time and do the best we can today because tomorrow just might be the day we hit our goal xx0 -

I'm 5'1". It is a long story about health problems that got me to 238 pounds. And I won't go into all that, but suffice it to say that once I was able to normalize my health somewhat, I was better prepared to take on the weight and improve my health even more.
I started this journey with a BMI of 45 to see if I could stick to a 1200 calorie a day diet and walk every day to prepare for what I would need to do after gastric bypass surgery. I started to lose weight and lost enough for me to not even qualify for the surgery before the 6 month waiting period was up. I lost 8 pounds on my own and then started at MFP just over a year ago at 230. Size 22WP and 2XL.
Now I'm at 154. Size 12P. Size L top. BMI: 29.1. I've lost about 13+ inches at each bust, waist, and hips. I stick to 1200 most days, don't eat back my exercise calories, and try to workout everyday! I still have weight to lose -- maybe 24 - 39 pounds (I'll know when I get there), but I'm sticking with it.

I don't have any good pictures, but I'm in the 5'2" club as well. My build is unusual (I think), because my frame is small like my mom's (as seen in my wrists, shoulders), but I'm genetically pretty muscular (like my dad). So it adds up to my looking fine at quite a range of weights, but the second I overload my frame (this happens at about 140), I look like a completely different person.
Anyway, I'm 42 now. When I was 30, I broke my ankle and gained 40 pounds - that was the beginning of the end for my weight struggles - I have battled my weight my whole life, but this was the first time I had passed "curvy" and was squarely into "fat" territory. My high was 165, and on my frame, I was pretty huge. And everything hurt - knees, feet, back. The only benefit was that I had a world-class rack - I seriously loved my boobs at that weight.
After a few years of this, I was diagnosed with PCOS, got my thyroid figured out, and went down to about 125 (it took a year of struggling) and at least looked like myself again!
Had some personal drama (heartbreak), got down to about 110-115 by not eating. I'm a little too thin under 115 - my face gets drawn and I look significantly older.
These days (at 40+), I'm good in the 120-125 range. I'm exercising more than I ever did when I was thinner, so I think the number is deceptive. I don't think I'll ever see 115 again - I don't think I want to. I'm around 135 now, and let me tell you, after 40 it's been a struggle for every single pound.
I like talking to other short women about this - some of my taller friends look at me like I'm deranged when I talk about some of these numbers (like the fact that I am obese at 140 if I'm not lifting weights), but I have to remind them....five pounds at my height is a totally different animal than five pounds at 5'9".1 -
nice job lady's! keep it iup0
