Would you pay for MFP?

They'd have to fix the screwed up food database, exercise calculator, and figure out how to keep MFP online and running smoothly. At that point - maybe. But there are so many free sites...probably not.0

I don't understand why the adverts cause people so much upset, I don't even notice them :ohwell:0
-
I wouldn't because I don't use it very much! But if I was an everyday user then I would consider it only if I saw great results from it. Lets remember people pay for a whole lot of other things they probably shouldn't. Later!!!!0
-
Heck no - I would go find another free service.0
-
I love this site and am addicted to it, I log my food every day. But would I pay for it? No. I would be sa if it started costing, because I would have to leave. The whole reason I tried it out was because it is free!0
-
Nope!0
-
No because there are too many other apps out there that are free. I'd start using my fitbit account for all the stuff I log here. I wouldn't pay for this.0
-
Yes I would. Even if it were an upgraded membership to remove ads, and maybe "members only" forums.
I'm a developer though, so I'm definitely biased against the "yay we have the Internet, everything is free now" mentality. I think it's ok to charge for things, especially if it's an upgrade to something that's offered for free.
What Ben said.
Except I'm not a developer. I can point at a computer and say it's not a toaster. Does that count?0 -
If there was an SLA, transparency in upcoiming features and bugfixes, and access to export my data, then I might pay a nominal fee.
^^^^^^^ this0 -
No I would not.0
-
Nope. I'd just log the old fashioned way... that is, I'd write down what I eat and how much I think it is in calories.0

Yes. Unless it is, indeed, a toaster. Then it doesn't count.0 -
would not pay(im cheep like that)0
-
There are other free calorie counters. I'd move on to one of them.0
-
No..too many other options available for free.
BTW, you can get rid of the ads by installing AdBlock on your Firefox or Chrome browser. I haven't seen an ad in years, here or any other site.
Omg, best advice I've ever been given. Just installed it. Thank you!0 -
I love this site, but no. That is why I joined, it is free.0
-
no way0
-
Flat out no. I enjoy and appreciate this site but there will always be one to take its place without a monthly fee.0
-
No, I am cheap.
^^this^^0 -
Would you pay for MFP if the app was no longer free? How much would you pay monthly?
No. Because I can't afford to pay. It's why I don't go to weight watchers or use their site.
To get what we get on here on weightwatchers.com you have to pay for it. I like this site
and would hate to leave it but I will if ever it goes pay0 -
I might pay a couple bucks a month if they made the following improvements....
i.e. no ads, forums on the mobile apps, being able to change what meal a certain food was on the mobile apps (instead of deleting and adding to another meal), being able to edit multiple items on the website (instead of deleting one by one, which you can do in the app), macro graph on the website, being able to copy a meal to any other meal on the same day or any other day (right now it just copies to another day at the same meal, but what if i want last nights dinner for lunch?), searching in a specific forum, searching just in your recent or frequent foods, sorting search results by # of confirmations, etc
those are just some of my ideas.. lol0 -
Geez let's not give the owner of the website any bright ideas!!!! I have come to rely on it so much now that I just might. Or I'd find another calorie counting site that was free....0
-
No.
I would have done the WWonline but it is $$. That is how I found MFP and LOVE IT!
If I had to pay, I would just find a new free online calorie counter.0 -
Nope. I'd just find another free app.The reason I joined MFP was that it was free. I HATE monthly/yearly fees. If i had to pay like two bucks to download the app, i'd probably keep it at this point, but I'd be annoyed.0
-
Don't be giving them any ideas... shhh...0
-
Yes I would...it's the only thing that has worked for me in years...0
-
No. Maybe it would break my addiction.
Too many other free sites.0 -
No. I would not pay. I love this site and have lots of friends on herem that encourage me just as I encourage them. I have left one website [along with several of my friends]. We found each other here. My computer was down for a week and I had to track my calories and sodium of paper. No fun. I love MFP.0

Nope there are too many other sites out there which are free so its a matter of hopping from one to another.0
