    Just spotted this and think it's awesome that you're all doing this! I haven't read The Hobbit since middle school, but this makes me want to pick it up again, just so I can understand the challenge and destinations. Does anyone know if there are maps like this for any other pieces of literature?

    The same author did an "Atlas of Pern," but as most of those adventures involve flying and/or teleportation, there aren't as many distances and pathways in that book.

    181.76 miles to Bag End...Land now slopes slowly downhill away from Weathertop. Continue northeast on the Road at a comfortable pace.

    378 miles-Cross a small stream. Road bends more northeast. The steep ravine of the Bruinen also runs east-northeast not far to the south.
