good morning.. checking in for yeserday..

Yesterday was a bad day. I did not eat right or exercise right, not to mention did not drink enough water and did not get enough sleep as I was playing nurse to my husband half the night. It is looking like my week is going to be null but, we will seem come Friday! smiley-shocked029.gif

Today will be better! smiley-face-sun-clouds.gif My son turned 17 today.. and missed the bus. so my morning has been thrown off a little but, at least I am back on track eating! I only work for a couple hours today as my DH is a the WORST patient and will not rest if I do not make him. smiley-face-stretcher.gif

Lildeb.. hang in there.. raising kids is an adventure! smiley-face-bouncing-008.gif God does not give us anything we can't handle and at some point you will look back and understand things! Believe me dear I have been there! My son was similar from acting out, not doing homework, being diagnosed with ADHD, diabetes to just being immature it will get easier! The counseling may just open some doors and shed some light on the situation. Just be patient and give her a hug! I know it is hard but in our case simply "listening" to what they had to say with an open mind really helped us know how to approach my son and what makes him tick! REWARDS are great, even if little. smiley-shocked025.gif When my kids were little I can remember making a REWARD sheet for the Fridge. It had things on it from picking up their toys to doing well in school, not having an accident (peeing at school). For each day they did well they got a sticker. After they had X amount they were able to pick a small prize from a box (crayons, race car, coupon for trip to the park, or favorite snack (gummys)) It really helped them stay focused on the good things and the immediate things. Good Luck!

Calories - 1520 (under) woohoo 1st time all week.
    water - 3 cups
    exerceise - none :(
    proud - not too much...

I think my daughter doesn't like this challenge this week. Everyday this week she has woke up at 5:15..she always gets up eearly but not sure why sooo early this week...i feel like crud too ...so i could really use that extra hr of lseep.

Oh no! As soon as we get a sleep challenge our kids and our bosses just "know"!!!!! Yah, I missed sleep because of a work meeting set at 6:30 in the a.m. when I usually go into work at 9 a.m. But I do think kids can sense things... like if I was on the phone when Rosa was little, suddenly she would need attention.... before that she would be fine!!!

    Check in:

    Calories: Under very nicely
Exercise: 55 minutes of hiking along with 1 hour or so of vocal practice
Water: still low, I loves me my caffiene
Proud: that I took a risk and went hiking with the coworkers
Sleep: approx 5 1/2 hours cuz I had a work meeting

Well I thought to myself, "self, we have a work meeting at 6:30 a.m., which means waking up at least at 5:30 a.m. which is approximately 2 to 2 1/2 hours earlier than we usually roll our lazy hienie outta bed..." so instead of going to bed early to make up the time I decided it would be easier to wake up early if I completely messed up my sleep schedule and went to bed an hour late.

This allowed me to watch an hour of TV and a bit of the basketball game, do full vocal practice including warmups and obsessively trying to perfect one of the songs I'm practicing, and take a nice bath, as well as having a little time on Facebook .

So I do not regret it, except I'm super tired now. The work meeting went well and was well worth my time to attend as my boss is going off on a vision and also had background info he heretofore had not shared with me.

Today's food plan included a hearty breakfast, light lunch. Followed by snack at home when I get home early. Then I will package up a mailing for the P.O. and gather library books to return, and make sure I have a list of sundries needed, and sally forth to go to P.O., library, and minor shopping. I need cat food and I am always afraid they will eat me if I don't feed them.

Then I plan on dancing a little at night, some belly dance drills because I'm not hiking or walking today. I'm working through my 8 hours from 6:30 to 2:30 and jetting this popsicle stand to get those errands done. After dancing, I will make sure I do enough laundry to make it a few more days, and do vocal warmups and hopefully obsessively practice my other two songs rather than just getting stuck on one song. And I will during this time frame eat some roast beef with brown rice, steamed veggies and a salad.

Oh dear. I will be officially retiring these pants tonight. :embarassed:
Apparently, keeping them up when I walk is a near impossibility. Both my hands were full walking from the water fountain *at work.* And, well, I lost them about halfway down my hips (thank goodness for quick reflexes, long enough shirts, and empty hallways).

Guess I need to go thrifting this weekend to find some transition pants. My aunt says she has several pairs she has outgrown that she wants me to go through this weekend but I know she's a big fan of pleats and I can't handle those (exactly why should I want my wide hips to appear wider?).

Goodbye, size 20 pants. You won't really be missed.

They're these pants, by the way. You'd think I'd know better after being able to take that picture *last* week. But, I'm a glutton for embarrassment, apparently, so I wore them again today.

If I weren't so cheap I'd burn some of my big pants! I've been giving them away as fast as I can. It's weird to see my coworker wearing my size 20s around:embarassed: (I was never that big right?) Although she's the most beautiful size 20 you could ever imagin!

Remember- next time you wear a pair of too-big pants make sure you're wearing cute underwear!

Good Morning Girls, Thanks for all the sweet support. I appreciate all of you!!! I feel better today. I actually weighed myself this morning, and I weigh the same. I am not going to let it get me down. I took my measurements and I have lost 1 inch from my thighs in the last 2 weeks. Not sure how much from my waist but it is a grand total of 7 inches lost, hips also 7 inches lost, arm 1.5 inches, calf 1.5 inches my grand total on the thighs is 3 inches. I am down 3 pants sizes and soon to be 4. That made me feel good. I know stress really keeps you from losing weight and I am trying soooooooo hard not to stress. My 16 yo is flying to Washington DC from CA and she has never flown before, so that is weighing heavy on me, then my little guy has a meeting to determine if he should go to mainstream kinder or as his speech therapist put it speech delayed kinder:huh: C'mon lady I am not an idiot just call it what it is special ed kinder. I just think instead of relaxing which I should I am really letting it stress me. Which is wrong. So today, I am giving all of this to God and I am moving forward. I am thinking about changing my ticker, but part of me likes seeing that I have lost 40 pounds:blushing:

Here are my stats for yesterday

Cals: Over:frown: (maybe this is the problem, even though they weren't over enough to gain weight just over for losing 1.5 pounds a week, more like the cals for losing 1 pound a week)
    water: Good
exercise: Yes, I did Pilates, walking, and a ball workout
sleep: 7-8 hours each night this week so far except Sunday which was only 6 hours
I am proud that I have lost so many inches

Remember- next time you wear a pair of too-big pants make sure you're wearing cute underwear!

Got that covered today! I've moved into underwear I bought a couple years ago that was WAY too small but I was too embarrassed to return. Yay!

Speaking of underwear issues (didn't I mention I'm a glutton for embarrassment?)...
When I run, I have to do it, ehrm, "commando." It's like my underwear will find any reason to crawl up my posterior. So, when I'm running, my underwear ride up and my pants fall down and it's the most uncomfortable and irritating situation ever!

Anyway, any suggestions for a solution? I mean, other than doing what I'm doing? I keep thinking it's a size issue but I have a huge array of underwear sizes in my drawer and they all do it -- Too big, too small, just right. It's all wedgie city for me.

Shortly, I'll be confident & less jiggly enough to run at my favorite public walking place -- a strip that runs right between the Broad River & the Cola canal. And, well, losing my pants while running commando in public and then being arrested for indecent exposure or public nudity doesn't sound like the most fun way to spend a Saturday morning. :indifferent: So, any suggestions will be much appreciated.

I took out my size 18 jeans last night and hung them over the door. I am currently in a size 20.

Its TOM for me and I was hoping to reach 240lbs by the end of the month. Currently I am at 244 so it looks like I wont be making it. :grumble: Im still very proud of myself- I am down 11lbs since Jan 4 (so less than a month) :drinker:

checking in for Monday & Tuesday:

calories: Monday over by a lot ... Tuesday over by a little
exercise: Monday none, Tuesday an hour of step in the am
    water: bad both days
sleep: doing well at this challenge - I've been trying to get 8 hours sleep for the last few months to try and stay healthier, many nights I go to bed when I tuck the kids in and read until I'm sleepy ... otherwise if I plant myself in front of the TV I will eat and stay up too late.
proud: that I went back and tracked all my calories for the last 2 days this morning and I'm reading all the posts trying to get motivated.

momma2four: I TOTALLY understand where you are at ... I have been stuck for the last few months up and down around the same few pounds ... I hit 20 pounds lost in September, and almost immediately gained a few back and now have lost my motivation to eat right.
I think you can feel really good about how much more you are exercising and how much better shape you are in, even though you haven't shown loss on the scale for awhile - you are healthier and lost inches! good for you for measuring. I really need to do that, I know things fit better and that I'm a lot healthier than I was before. But to get the scale moving again I know I need to start trying harder to stay within my calories and eat healthier.

awestfall: great advice to momma2four, I am going to try to take your advice too and concentrate on eating better. I too have been exercising well and I think subconsciously telling myself that is good enough and I can eat whatever I want ... but that is why the scale isn't moving down anymore. I know we can do this!

jlb123: I LOVE your picture with your big pants ... you are really inspiring!

Thanks everyone for being here and have a great day!

Thanks for the good advice awestfall !!! I realized last week that the chicken breast I have been eating is actually bigger than a serving size. So I am trying to be very aware of a serving size. I am going to stay away from the chips because I do fit them into my meals at least 2-3 times a week. I will make sure the calories that I am eating are " Good " for me.

lstpaul, thanks! Your exercise ticker reminded me today to go back to keeping track of my exercise mins. Remember when we all got those tickers and we would add mins each week? You have never quit doing that I am going to start again.

Cris, glad things have improved for you and the bf. Somethings just take a little bit of time to fix fully!

jlb123, congrats on losing your pants at work today!!!

    Good afternoon!

Jlb: Congrats on the needing smaller pants! I'm with you on the difficulties of underwear when running, but I've found that bikini or boyshort microfiber underwear work best for me and I can buy them just about anywhere (lingerie stores, Walmart, Kohls, Target). Good luck finding what works for you and have fun shopping for smaller pants!

Mstahl: Your dinner at Great Lakes Brewing Company sounds fabulous! My boyfriend and I are fond of visiting breweries and trying new beers. Every once in a while you have to have a big calorie day. Believe it or not, it always helps me get past a plateau. Weird, huh?

All that being said, here are my stats for yesterday 1/26/2010:
    Calories: Stayed under
    Water: Only 40 oz.
Exercise: Kickboxing video for 47 minutes, burned 480 calories.
Sleep: 6.5 hours, but I typically get 8 so I'm not going to be too hard on myself.
Proud: That I'm wearing my new size 12 jeans today and they look and feel good! Woo hoo!

The scale was also very kind this morning with a 1 lb. weight loss, bringing me to 197.4! I realized today that it might be possible to get into size 10 by my birthday in April. When I graduated high school I wore a size 10, so that would be so terrific. I'm feeling a sexy today because of my smaller jeans and the cute thong I'm wearing; I typically don't wear thongs but I have a few for special occasions and figured being proud of my progress was a special occasion.

I hope you're all having a great day!

Welcome and glad you are here!!!!! Here some things that we do just to keep ourselves on track we answer some questions each day.

Have I stayed within my calories today?
Did I drink at least 64 ounces of water today?
    Have I exercised today?

We also share something we are proud of about ourselves. We weigh in on Fridays and the person with the biggest percentage of weight loss wins and picks a challenge for the week. This weeks challenge is getting at least 7 hours of sleep each night. Right below did I exercise today put Sleep:X amount of hours you slept . :flowerforyou:

The lowest size I have worn in pants are 14, I am a pear shape and I look so thin on top but my bottom is always HUGE. I would die to be a size 10! heck, even a 12!! I could wear size 10/12 dresses but that doesnt count!

so it seems like everyone's doing well...good! I'm starting to feel better myself. Today is gym day and I plan on working out three times this week for the first time. I'm actualy looking foward to it!

My scale still isnt budging though. Its like I'm stuck. i tried eating more fiber and less salt, I guess I'm still retaining water from the exercise I've started doing. i wish it would go away, i really need some motivation right about now! I feel like wanting to quit is hovering a little too close to me right now. *Sigh*

    Anyway Yesterdays check in:

Calories: just a tad over, but I had to eat to get all of them.
    Water: A little under
Exercise: took the stairs all day

    Proud: I'm gaining more endurance

Heather -- size 12 is awesome!! Congratulations! My bff is a size 10/12 at 5'7" or 5'8" and I don't consider her big at all!

I had to get some new pants for my 2nd job because, in the words of a coworker, I was giving customers "pizza and a floor show" because my pants were slipping down at highly inappropriate times. :noway:
I went to Walmart on my lunch break on this mission: cheap, comfy, khaki. Last time I tried on pants at Walmart it ended in tears (and I don't mean tears of joy). I couldn't come close to fitting my fat butt in size 20 and I refused to try on a size 22. Today I bought a size 16P. P for petite... 'cause I'm a shorty (the pants are still too long... :grumble:). 1st bit of awesomeness was the fact that I shopped in the REGULAR section, not the plus sized section. 2nd bit of awesomeness is -- do you see how freakin' insane my butt looks in these pants? I'd be willing to bet money that I make better tips tonight than I have in a LONG time.

Sure, they're a wee bit tight through my hips, but I'll shrink into them in a week or 2. It's not like they're inappropriately tight, just a lot tighter than I'm used to (especially lately). I had taken 3 sizes into the fitting room. A 40x30 in men's pants, an 18W and a 16P and I left with the smallest size because the others were too big. I think that's the first time that's ever happened. When I picked up the 16 I thought "yeah right" and then just decided to try it on to see how close I was. When I pulled them on and buttoned them (plenty of room to spare in the waist) I said "Holy *kitten*!" Out loud.

Oh, last night I was talking to the manager of the pizza place where I work & asked him to order me a smaller shirt. I said "I think this one is starting to be way too big" and he shook his head immediately in agreement.
