Love the challenge, awestfall! Though I already failed, too, because like Cogirl, I weighed myself this morning and WOOT, I'm glad I did! Down 1.8 from yesterday. I think I retain water when I ovulate which I think happened earlier this week. So, it appears my body likes my new idea on eating (more protein, fewer carbs, more calories overall). My VD goal is within reach again. Anyway, it's going to be *so* hard for me to stay off that scale (which I suppose is why it's called a "challenge").
01.29.10
Calories: 1220
Exercise: 30 minutes stationary bike
Water: 88oz, at least
Sleep: 6.75 hours!! Yay! I almost made it.
Proud: I'm so proud of all you ladies! :flowerforyou: We're doing an *awesome* job! :drinker:0 -
Hi Feeny, welcome! You'll love this group, I know I do!
Checking in for yesteraday...
1-30-10
Calories: Spot on
Water: A little under, maybe
Exercise: Yes! 20 minutes eliptical, 30 minutes strength training
Proud: So VERY proud that I took everyone's advice yesterday and went to the gym! I feel so much better, and my muscles ache (I love that feeling) and my depression is history! I love that high you get when you're finished with a great workout. I am also extremely proud that I did the eliptical machine at medium intensity for the WHOLE 20 MINUTES. I didnt complain, I didnt hurt, my feet didnt fall asleep..my endurance is definently getting better! I'm so pumped! :smokin:
Also I just so happened to step on the scale this morning (Sorry awestfall, I didnt get to read your post untill after! no more cheating for me. *hides her scale*) and It showed me as a full two pounds + under what I was yesterday! I want to thank everyone here who helped push me out of my impending depression and made me feel obligated to go work out. I'm succeeding, and I really think having all of your support is the key to success! Yayyyy! :drinker: Thanks everyone, I love you all.0 -

:blushing:
Especially after I made fun of the "VD cookies" comment earlier this week!
I guess my VD goal would be to NOT have VD, so yes, it turns out I do have a VD goal!0 -
jlb123: Way to go down 51 pounds! The pounds seem to be melting off you.
awestfall: Yay for being this weeks biggest looser! It is nice to have your hard work pay off this week. Great challenge!
lstpaul: Three days in a row on eating better is terrific. Keep it up! You can do this and results will follow.
MariSama: Good job on getting yourself to the gym. The endorphins help get you out of a funk. You are doing great.
Feeny: I haven't seen Feeny in ages, we used to watch that show regularly. Welcome to this great group of ladies.
Llowry: Congratulations on your sons wedding. It can be stressful for the mother of the groom depending on how much you had to do. I hope you have had a lovely weekend celebrating.
Momma2four: The scale moved down for you!!! Super Duper.
Until later:-)0 -

Calories: yes 1300
Water: close
Exercise: no
Sodium: 1670
Proud: that I have been busier than I like to be and have been able to stick to healthier eating even when away from home.0 -
I love the challenge because here lately I have been sneaking peeks and that doesn't work for me, personally. I dwell on it too much and forget to enjoy life! I am also VERY proud that awestfall is the BL this week!
Mari - so darn proud of you for going to that gym! You made me smile when I read your post telling us you went! :flowerforyou:
You know, first commando, then VD. Oy! What are ya trying to tell us, jlb?! hee hee
check in:
notsogoodnotsogoodnotsogoodnotsogoodnotsogood:embarassed:
calories: over my normal amount but just to the top of MFP
water: 64
exercise: nada - well, about ten minutes of walking but that's it
proud: could have been worse! My father took me out to dinner and we ate like kings. I had a...gulp...16 ounce steak. I am literally sick to my stomach and can't sleep. Guess I'll be up for awhile paying the price (which is ironic since the dinner was free - my dad payed!) :ohwell:0 -
AHHHHH!!!!! Home sweet home!! Well, the wedding is over and all is good! (except my diet). I'm ready to get refocused and back on track. The first part of the challenge is gonna be a tough one for me but, I've got it figured out! I'll turn the scales over to my husband and tell him to hide them. Maybe the withdrawals will not be too bad! Everyone is doing such a great job! keep it up!! And have a great day!0

Hello everyone! I'm back from my weekend at the uhm... (harrypotter) winter ball!
Reporting for Friday
Calories - under a bit
Water - under a lot! :ohwell:
Exercise - Nope. Let a co-worker talk me into sushimi instead of my walk at lunch. (omg GOOD though LOL!)
Proud: I made it through Friday. Not proud of crying at work but I am proud that I made it through and in a weird way, I'm proud I left work at 5 even though I didn't have my project completed. I've started to get my priorities right...
Reporting for Saturday
Calories - WAY OVER Just the piece of Prime Rib was tons of calories, but I was careful to eat only the lean parts and I didn't get any corn or salad, rather LOTS of green beans and a half cup of mashes.
Water - nope. I was at the farm in the morning and the water there isn't great. Hotel later and I did drink a few glasses but nowhere near enough.
Exercise - YES!
Proud - I took 90 minutes before lunch and headed out into the six degree weather for a walk to the pond and back (at my parent's farm) it's about a mile round trip with a nice uphill walk at the end that kicks every one's butt! My dad wanted to come with me (74) so I took him and avoided the road - we cut uphill to look at some young trees (Maples) that need trimmed- then down through mixed timber to the pond. We talked about the dam holes (hee hee) and evil muskrats etc... then I took him the WAY long way back to the house by walking up to the highest part of the farm through oak, beach and sycamore forests (which kept my HR up pretty high according to my HRM) then along the fields back to the house. About four miles and 90 minutes. Poor dad! He'll never ask to tag along again! Actually he seemed super happy that I knew the different trees and could talk about which ones were good lumber prospects vs. the scrub and "firewood" trees. Yes Dad - I was listening on those walks we've taken over the past 40 years!:grumble:
Sunday -
Calories - a little under but not nearly enough to make up for Saturday!
Water - under under under
Exercise - none - except I did help undecorate the ball room and carry loads of stuff back and forth... (the castle is on a hill!)
Proud - came home to a freshly baked loaf of bread. My husband kneads roasted garlic and rosemary into the dough - you can't really see the garlic when it's done because it's incorporated right into the dough - soooo GOOD!   I only had a bit of the crust :ohwell:
BlueNote- I love that you're walking up the big hill every day - that just rocks! I start a stair counting contest tomorrow - I'm hoping my co-workers will start catching me in the stairwell rather than the elevator
Jenn - sorry for your stomach bug - hope you get better soon and hope your body decides it might as well burn body fat to cope with the crisis
Lisa - glad you're home and can get some rest!
jlb123 - I am getting kind excited thanks to you, Jenn and Heather - but you mostly! OMG I might be able to run one day? I ran down to my car for something at the farm, and sprinted back up to the house (up-hill) and I was a bit winded but trust me - two months ago I would have been gasping after WALKING up the hill!
Chris - you joined a gym? THAT'S AWSOME! I'm seriously thinking about doing that if my hot flashes haven't improved by the time my garage warms up! I really can't imagine trying to work out with the level of heat I feel, in a 75 degree room. If I haven't fixed the hot flashes I might join a gym to swim laps for my aerobic workouts! I also have a coworker who is trying to convince me to do a mini triathlon in September... I would join a gym for swimming and biking
Awestfall - I love the new challenge! I've already decided how I'll do it! Since I track my weight daily and I have a Biggest Loser contest on Wednesdays - I'm going to have a co-worker read the scale for me each day and write down the number and I'll enter them into my spread sheet at the end of the week! Last year I never knew my weight the entire event
Colorado Girl - hope all is well with you!
Snowflake - thought of you this weekend when I kept going "OMG snowshoeing must burn a TON of calories!"
cds2327 and Airan4self - I hope you two had a good weekend!
motherofabishai - thinking of you too!
Momma - you know how awesome you are right? You give me so much inspiration!
Solandra - where have you been? Hope all is OK - love your website (I think we have MUCH in common!)
LilDebbie - This week will be a good one for you! You'll get your exercise in, and your little girls will be healthy and maybe you'll get some answers!
Renea_Kay - I hope you're able to come up with some easy FUN ways to build more great healthy foods into your diet so you can start seeing the results of your work! You don't have to be hungry to do this! You CAN DO THIS we are all here cheering for you!
Rororosie - I hope the friend/ bf timing went well this weekend and that you were still able to carve out the time you need for YOU!
Positively_Me - It's always nice to read your posts!
1stPaul - THREE DAYS IS AWESOME!!! You didn't GAIN before so you KNOW that ever day you eat at target your body is burning fat! YOU BURNED FAT the last three days! Isn't that awesome???
MariSama44 - you had better keep it up! You're doing great!
The Boss, Jerzeebabie04, Catzwitch, and Feeny - you'll love it here! Stop back every day and post an update! Check in on Fridays - it's good for the dieting soul :bigsmile:0 -
I am so glad to hear everyone is enjoying the new challenge and I will be posting a new thread in just a few minutes.I didn;t log calories this weekend because I went to a birthday party for my daughters best friend (she turned 5) and surprisingly I did very well.I ate one hot dog without the bun and maybe 6 potato chips(those are my weakness) and a small piece of birthday cake with no icing.I was having cabin fever so today we went out and got the oil changed on the car and walked around Walmart for an hour and then came home.I was happy to get out of the house for the day.We only have one car running right now so it makes it hard for me to get out during the week when my husband is at work.Hopefully when taxes come back we can get his truck fixed and I can have my car back lol.I can't wait for spring all this snow we keep getting is starting to get old.0

Thank you bluenote! The wedding was a small affair at a cowboy church. And I will post some of the pictures when my stepdad emails them to me. He was the photographer! And one of the funny things about the wedding is my daughter in law's ex-husband was serving the punch!  I told my sister that while we were there and she jumped around and said "Where is Jerry Springer! I know he is going to pop out from somewhere"  Any way we had a good time and I seen my grandkids.0
