What do you replace chips with?

I use a combination of fat free pretzels and 100 calorie packs of almonds. For the pretzels, I put one serving worth in a dessert bowl and then put the bag away. That's been working well for me so far.0

I like celery with hummus -- it is salty and gives me that crispy crunch that I love about tortilla and potato chips. I also love stovetop homemade popcorn with baked kale, taco seasoning, salt and nutritional yeast sprinkled on top! Tastes a little like Doritos ;-)
Yummy! I will have to try this too!0 -
Baked snap peas at walmart. Doesn't taste like your even eating vegetables. I can eat the whole bag and not feel bad because their not high in calories.0

Cape Cod 40% reduced fat kettle chips.....thank goodness I get about 2 servings before the boyfriend empties the bag.0

I suggest pop chips or popcorn chips, both are good
I love the popcorn chips by special k but would not recommend them to anyone. I had a some and then read the ingredients and researched them and one of them is Butane. Not something I want in my body so threw the rest away.0 -
You can make your own chips with potatoes or sweet potatoes. Bake instead of fry and they are much healthier than any store bought version.0
-
Trader Joes skinny fries, edamame thins, potato/lentil curls0

Special K cracker chips are FANTASTIC. All the flavors are tasty and only 110 calories per serving (quite a generous portion size also).0
-
I like the flavored mini rice cakes0

baby puppies. .
I replace chips with baby puppies of course!
Pop those little suckers in a big baking dish, toss them in pepper and olive oil and throw them right in the oven at 400*!
Delicious! (:0 -
Don't laugh, these are really good and low in calories if you stick within one or two servings. And they come in more than one flavour. Leave the lid off for more crunch. Gerbers L'il Graduates Veggies Snacks! Love them. My granddaughter feeds them to me when she comes to visit! But I like them more when they are a bit stale.0

bake anything into to chips...kale , apple , banana ...etc0

I eat Sensable Portions Veggie Straws, I find them at Wal Mart. I get the zesty ranch flavor and they don't cost this much in the store.

They are much lower in calories and carbs than chips or rice cakes0 -

Veggie Straws!! My favorite!! A serving is 38 pieces and only 130 calories!!!0 -
Popcorners, Neal Brothers Blue Corn and Flax chips, anything from Food Should Taste Good (I think that's what they're called... the bag is black), plain popcorn (a little cinnamon or a little salt), Terra chips (they come in beet, sweet potatoe, taro, and a variety of other things, so they're a little better for you).0

I personally love Veggie Straws. Pop Chips & Special K Chips are pretty Awesome to. If you still hsve craving for the "real chips" just get the 100 cal bags.0

I like making my own chips from pitas or lavash. Lightly spread olive oil on one side (I do as little as possible, just enough to have a thin layer over the whole thing), season however you like, then bake at 350F. I make mine in the toaster oven and it takes 5 minutes. A regular oven would be around 5-8 minutes.
You can get away with making them without the oil to get the calories lower, but they crisp up and taste better with it.
I also dehydrate veggies with a tiny bit of salt. Once they're dry enough they're vaguely chip-like.0 -
Special K Cracker Chips. 30 of them for 110 calories!

The sea salt ones aren't great by themselves...but dipped in an awesome dip, they're perfection!0 -
Quaker's mini rice snacks called Quakes. I buy the single serve bags to keep me in check.0

Pop Chips. The BBQ might just be the best BBQ, period.0

Corn tortillas cut into wedges, laid out on cookie sheet, spray lightly with cooking spray, sprinkle with salt then bake for about 15 mins or so at 350 degrees. Check after about 10 minutes, sometimes those on the edges get crispy before the inside ones. let cool, put in a ziplock bag. Just like baked tortillas with less salt and far less money.
I love BBQ pop chips too but they have a lot of sodium so only eat them occasionally. Spec K chips are just way too salty for my taste.
I also found that slicing celery into bite size pieces, putting them into clean salsa jar adding a little salt and shaking is a good snack. Get the crunch, the salt and the reaching into and putting into my mouth satisfaction of a chip0 -
baked chips are better. of course weigh them on the food scale. i will do that and put them in sandwich baggies so when i want them they are all measured out0
-
Nothing. If I want chips, I add them to my food diary and make food/exercise adjustments accordingly.0
-
I don't. When I want chips..I eat chips. Only difference is, I now put a few in a paper towel..instead of eating them out of the bag. This way I can see how much I'm eating..instead of guessing.0
-
Kale chips or baked corn tortillas are a good substitute.0

I eat Pita chips with hummus or kettle corn to satisfy the salty and sweet cravings! But I don't really eat other chips. I'd say if you can stick to the proper portions, you can have 'em!0

i love chips and i have refused to cut them out of my diet. i get the 40% reduced fat cape cod style chips and eat one serving of them with lunch. also, i never take the bag with me out of the kitchen to avoid over snacking on them. i put some on my plate, put the bag away, and walk away (i do the same with any snack).
as far as snacking, i'm not crazy about carrots, either, but for some reason i can eat fresh carrot chips (they're fresh cut and look like ripple potato chips) dipped in something like garlic hummus or blue cheese dressing (and i mean dipped, not scooped. you can keep the portions of the dip way down if you dip instead of scoop).
i didn't read all of the thread, so this is probably covered, but there are veggie chips (dried and lightly salted like potato chips) and those are pretty darn good, too.0
