I don't agree with the whole lumping the 'deprived' into more teen pregnancies. That's just ****!
I was not in a deprived area but made a mistake. I was born in 1971 and am currently 41.
First child: 17
Second child: 23
Third child: 29
Fourth Child: 35
My 2nd and 4th children were the only ones that I really "planned" the other two were oops. Not that I would send them back, but I would have liked to waited until 23 for my first and had my last at 28.0 -
Married at 23
First baby on my 25th birthday
Second at 29
No more came after that -- I'm 42 now.0 -
On the other hand, if you live in a deprived area and have no ambition, you end up with a lot of teenage pregnancies. In the UK you get pretty good benefits if you're on a low income and bringing up a child.
Seriously? Way to tar everyone with the same brush, I was brought up in what would be described as a deprived area, I had my son at 21, my sister was 16 when she had her 1st (she is now 27 with 4 children) We have both worked our entire adult lives to provide for our children and do not rely on the benefits system, yet I would say we are in quite low incomes.
Not everyone wants to milk the system, and it definitely has nothing to do with the area you live, only yesterday I read the story of a journalist and broadcaster who is receiving a very generous income complaining about losing her £20 a week child benefit!
:drinker: To you and your sister for taking responsibility instead of milking the system. Seriously, I wish more people were like that.0 -
I am 31 and still haven't had one yet.0

Regrets? Not really. I am now 59 years old and happily married for the second time for three years. I have 9 grandchildren and two great grandchildren whom I love dearly.
Probably wasn't the ideal way to do things, but it worked out OK for me.0
