Also Girl Next Door and Irreversible
yes and yes yes!!
Jack Katchem's the girl next door was based on the true story about Sylvia Lycans and Gertrude Benichefski.. A more realistic movie based on this story is "an american crime".. also can be seen in investigation discovery's "deadly 'women" on netflix.0 -
I remembered another one. "Don't Look Now" with Donald Sutherland. When he catches up with the red raincoat ... lets just say that still frightens me.0
-
Prince of Darkness
Friday the 13th part 2 (because for weeks after the movie my brother would play kill kill kill ha ha ha sounds or jump out and scare me)
IT - never trust the clown!!!!0 -
Salo, Serbian Film, Cannibal Halocaust
Oh! From the reactions on this thread I am now adding these to my que!
careful.. if i were you, i'd check out the reviews on imdb.. just in case.. a serbin film isn't just a horror movie.. it haunts people.. it's a pretty horrifying thing to put yourself through.. it's what i did.. and i'm glad i did..0 -
The Exorcism of Emily Rose. I still wake up at 3am. Look at the clock and say "fu-k........."
Hahaha I do the same thing!0 -
Love horror! I don't really get scared (or scarred) anymore, but I was ...disturbed by this list:
The Girl Next Door
Last Houst on the Left (origional)
Clockwork Orange
Emily Rose is the last movie to scare the *kitten* out of me.
Human Centipide 2 was disgusting, and because of that AWESOME! What a great bad guy! The first one was boring.
The Audition was cool if you're a fan of Japanese horror.
For some reason I saw the part of Watership Down where Bigwig is caught in a wire when I was five and that messed me up for a while.
I will be Netflixing some of these I haven't seen.
Great list and topic!
I remember the Girl Next Door - that movie is based (loosely) on an actual case (Sylvia Likens).0 -
for me, it was The Entity... the woman was being raped by some entity, and it was supposedly based on a true story... gives me the heebie jeebies:(

I've always been a fan of Horror movies but after having a child I can't watch The Hills Have Eyes. In the beginning when they take the baby I just turned it off and was like nope can't do this.0

A movie called "feed" it was about a guy who had big girl fetishes and he used to feed them til they died... and people use to watch online.. I believe these things always derive from some sort of truth.. Totally sick!!
I've been meaning to watch that movie..
It was nicely done. Check out "The Woman" also, -it think thats the name, it's onNetflix
I've seen it.. i actually felt angry about that one.. i'm not really a feminist but i felt like it was a very demeaning movie for women..
Yea, I'm still not sure how I feel about it. Was it feminist? Was it just thinly velied tourture porn? Idk, but I like that it made me have a response. So much horror I watch and I'm just like "meh"
it depends on the context weather i[m like meh or not.. if there is hidden meaning, i tend to find it.. i don't know if it was just me or not but, i found a distinct lack of feminine power. the man teaching his son his views on women.. the wife's position in the family.. the fact that the woman in the movie is practically a caveman.. it has so many anti feminist undertones.. not even undertones.. just blatant woman bashing! as i said.. i'm not a feminist.. but still a woman and i was pretty effected.0 -
Human Centipede.0

"I Spit on Your Grave". Most horrendous violence against a woman and then her revenge. Had trouble taking baths for a looooong time after that.

You'd be wise to avoid...it's burned into my brain forever

Pan's labyrinth made me depressed for weeks....We had no idea when me and my friend when to see it.
