Wow off for Mardi Gras, that sounds like a good idea. Wish we had it off. Instead we have Laura Benson here from the states teaching us all week. She is a literacy specialist. Have you ever heard of her. she has written many things and visits our school about twice a year for the past 4 years. she is interesting to listen to but we have to plan for subs in the class so we can attend her lectures and you know how that goes. BLAHH. The kids get all wound out too with a sub. At least my group does.
Anyway good to see you back and hear what is happening in your life. I missed many of the group the past few days. I'm still plugging along and being diligent in my plan for a healthier life.

WOO HOO! The past week is the first time in 15 years I have actually felt like I can do it! My family and friends are supporting me, and all my new pals on MFP. I am working out REALLY hard and journaling religiously, and it doesn't feel overwhelming! Thanks all for the

Yes, my whole area shuts down for Mardi Gras. I live 70 miles north of New Orleans. Tough time for diet also with all the rich foods such as king cakes! As to your question I have not heard of Laura Benson, but googled her, I would love to hear your thoughts and any help with my own 3rd graders. Send me a message when you get a chance...

    Thanks!

    Hi everyone,

Had a busy weekend and didn't eat well. Today I feel kinda sick and think that it is all the junk food I eat. Now that I don't eat it every much it makes me ill the next day.
Feel bad about making the wrong choices, but staying strong today. Every week it is the same old story...
I do super during the week then the weekend comes and everything I learned about food goes out the window! I didn't even log my food last night.
Long walk today to try and regain some ground. I don't want to cook dinner tonight, I need to think of an easy yummy something. Any quick low cal dinner ideas?

Absolutely... It was time to get new shoes! If that is not the case... I don't know. Hope this helps

I thought I needed new shoes, got some but it didn't help. I also laced loose, and it helped a bit but still acting funny. Weird, I don't know what it is.

Weight loss tip for today! This is from the book called The Biggest Loser Success Secrets.

    BELIEVE YOU CAN DO IT

Who doesn't remember the story of the Little Engine that Could? His memorable mantra "I think I can"- was enough to help him climb even the steepest hills. Can your own self-talk help you do the same as you begin to lose weight?

The answer is a resounding yes. When you're on the road to your weight loss goal, having a can-do-attitude is key. And that attitude is controlled to a large extent by your faith in yourself and your ability to achieve your goals. In fact, your confidence needs to be even higher than the Little Engine's. He only thought he could. To be successful you have to know you can.

Psychologist and motivational experts call this attitude self-efficacy. Put another way, it is believing in your ability to bring about a particular outcome. Unlike self-esteem, self-efficacy is specific to each situation or task that you face, such as exercising, eating healthfully, or controlling overeating. The stronger your self-efficacy becomes, the resilient you are to setbacks and failure. If you truly believe in your ability to lose weight, then you can overcome occasional setbacks by learning from it and moving on with greater resolve.

Thank you for this post TCASMEY. I needed it today. The week is NOT lost, I need to forget past wrong choices and make the choices I KNOW I can be better for. We can all do this!
I love how we all take turns cheering each other on, when I am down I can count on MFP friends to pick me up again.

I was good today, but I don't really feel much like exercise tonight. Think I'll sleep and workout harder tomorrow.

Welcome to Thursday! Remember tomorrow is our weigh in. Are you achieving your goals for this month? If so that is great if not, reevaluate and try to figure out what you need to do better to achieve your goals. Have a healthy rest of the day. I am looking forward to tomorrows weigh-in to see how everyone is doing!
