Marla, 1.)Sorry I busted yer bubble on the nanners.......2.) Have you thought about soy yogurt (or maybe the regular plain works like V says)
3.) Viviakay -Coconut creamer is a refrigerated item, with the other creamers, kind of hard to find.....I only found it at the food coop store......

BUT - Richard, the stats are good! ( I've used it - spendy, .....:ohwell: ) Look:

    Nutrition Facts
So Delicious - Original Coconut Milk CreamerServings: 1 Tbsp 1 container (32 tbsp ea.)
    Calories 10 --Sodium 0 mg
    Total Fat 0 g --Potassium 0 mg
    Saturated 0 g-- Total Carbs 1 g
    Polyunsaturated 0 g-- Dietary Fiber 0 g
    Monounsaturated 0 g-- Sugars 1 g
    Trans 0 g-- Protein 0 g
    Cholesterol 0 mg
    Vitamin A 0% --Calcium 0%
    Vitamin C 0% --Iron 0%

4.) I better get a banana if I have to eat Kale....
5.) "Blue on You" Nail polish - to match the new bag????
6.) and, yep I am deducting the fruits and dairy to get the "added sugars".
7.) I didn't log food for two days due to a weird anomaly in my personal life.....good a reason as any? (And I'm on Maintenance.....) soooo no sugar totals for those two days. It wasn't a big binge that I'm hiding or anything - though I did have one teaspoon of white sugar. So shoot me.

    Love back at ya.

Oh, and the sugar column is a default column on the "printable version"of the food diary, ya know the page two ............so you don't have to change your tracking nutrients - unless you just like it on page one. I like to get as many nutrients as possible, so I don't track it on page one.

I just wanted to say, I can't imagine a life without bananas. Ya know, bananas are said to be the perfect food- they contain everything a human needs to stay alive, and purportedly help with a lot of health conditions including depression. I have one a day, every day. Some days I split it up, and have half in the AM, half in the PM, but I doubt I'll ever give them up. I consider them Mother Nature's little yellow gifts to us. ;)

I've been allergic to banana's most of my life - nothing life threatening, just itchy/furry tongue and ermmm... it speeds up my BM's :ohwell: I've found more recently that if I eat them when they are very ripe (not brown, but turning brown) I don't get the symptoms as severely. My dog also has seasonal epilepsy and I give him a banana a week (potassium is said to quell the epileptic fits).

I recently picked up a book called The Insulin Resistance Diet, and was suprised, and happy to see 1/2 banana is allowed and categorized as a HIGH CARB food, but it must be linked to a protein so that it doesn't spike a glycemic response.

Well, EPIC FAIL for me yesterday - darned sour cherry blasters! :noway: I'll blame FLO for that one :blushing:

Sounds like my "allergies" which are really just sensitivities. I bet if you went to a Naturopathic doctor/specialist, you would find that you have a sensitivity to bananas (and who knows what else! I would never have known I was sensitive to peas!!).
    What's so bad about stevia??
There's nothing wrong with Stevia. It's only the healthiest NATURAL sweetener replacement there is! Miles better than Splenda or anything else! (Though I don't like the after taste...)

yeah, Stevia is the best! I don't think anyone implied there was a problem with Stevia (except on page one, post one, of this thread - we think that website that listed all the sugars in labeling, acucell.com, may have been wrong by listing Stevia...maybe a typo on their part...but not sure. I was hoping for more feedback from you guys.)

I use Stevia all the time -no more of the fake stuff. Here's the Stevia stuff posted on the first thread:

Thanks for the input on sweeteners everyone! I'll have to give the Stevia a try!

Marla I'm in the same boat with the muffin top around my middle! :ohwell: I've been pretty good about sugar since January in hopes of getting rid of that, only a handful of slip ups. I am still struggling with the flab. I've given up diet soda and as much sugar as I can take out of my daily diet. Maybe it is now more a matter of working out to get that weight off, in addition to staying away from the sugars. :grumble: I'll do my daily required amount of exercise, but I'm no diehard when it comes to sweating!

What is the sugar content of plain yogurt? Just wondering... without having to run to the grocery store! I miss my yogurt...used to eat it with a nice yummy granola... those were the days :ohwell:

That is my breakfast every morning with a full serving of strawberries (3/4 cup) and a 1/4 serving of blueberries, some flax, almonds, almond milk. A huge bowl is only 273 kcals. Protein, Carbs and good fats + probiotics. What's not to love?

Nancy's lowfat plain organic yogurt = 16g sugar per cup. (But I have 1/2 cup with mine)

    :flowerforyou:

Thanks! On day 3 of no sugar. Today will be a challenge for me. The boss is bringing in lunch - he nixed my Applebees idea and wants Cluckers Fried Chicken with JoJos and slaw. Oh Boy. And someone brought in a Cinnamon Crunch Butter Cake. Yipes. One of our guys turned 60 yesterday, another one turned 67 last Friday so there is cake and lunch. Can you say No Sugar, No potatoes?? I'm repeating it endlessly . . .

But I am starting to feel much better. I was cranky as all get out yesterday, and very "weepy" in the a.m. I'm feeling more energetic and not nearly as emotional. Tues was a beast!

Bananas aren't bad for you! They just have a high sugar content. They are packed with nutrients....each to his or her own. I don't eat them myself. That's just me. Look at what BrendaLee said up a few posts about bananas being the perfect food. ^^

Cheryl, you must be able to read my mind... I came here specifically to ask about Almond Milk! Just saw it at the grocery store and it looks pretty good actually! I've been missing cereal and all the reviews I've read have sung praises for Almond milk, more specifically the unsweetened vanilla almond milk! Now I wish I would have gotten a carton while I was there! Any further thoughts on it? I was looking for an alternative to my chemical-laden :grumble: coffee creamer!

    Tams,

I've finally settled on soy creamer. Here's why.

    1. Never used coffee mate - chemical
    2. Half and half was good, but puts me over in Sat Fat too easily, I tend to use 2 servings a day of it
    3. Low fat milk is too watery and too calorie dense to get the right mix in coffee
    5. Unsweetened coconut creamer is pretty tasteless, and hard to find in the stores, and expensive
    4. Almond milk curdles in hot liquids - tastes the same, just looks weird

I didn't even know there was a soy creamer until about a month ago. I'm hooked. Good flavor, you don't use a lot of it, it blends well, no sat fat, no cholesterol, sugars less than 1g, 15 calories, 1g of fat, 10 mg sodium in one tablespoon. You can buy it anywhere, and it's about the same price as half and half. Regular soy MILK also curdles, like the almond milk does.

Almond milk is awesome in anythng cold where you would use milk. It's expensive, too, but I don't use that much of it, and I could never go through a half gallon of dairy milk before it went bad.

yesssmileyf.gif Victory over the sweets.... Yay!

Potatos are loaded with potassium and B Vitamins, though - unless you smother them in butter, gravy or sour cream, they aren't bad for you - keep the portion reasonable, but you don't have to eliminate fresh potatoes. IMO....

eff it.........I mean, EDIT.....................when will I learn to post pics???????????????????????????????????????????
