    whats calorie deficit lifting?

burning more than you eat on a lifting routine rather than a cardio routine.

Before: 270+ lbs and some high bodyfat percentage. I actually didn't start my trek until about a year after this photograph was taken.

About a month ago at 190lbs, looking much better in a suit than the prior shot.

    Now: 185lbs, 18.3% bodyfat.

^ Yep. Using weightlifting to burn body fat while maintaining muscle.

EDIT: Technically you use a calorie deficit to lose weight. The weightlifting promotes that weight loss to come from body fat and promotes the retention of lean body weight.

I wish more women would stop doing so much cardio and pick up those weights!! Nothing better than the feeling after lifting your body weight or more in weights. I feel so accomplished and my body has never been tighter. Great results girls!

Here's all I got for ya. I started lifting in January, stopped in August. This pic was in October when I decided to start lifting again. I was shocked I still had this much muscle on me.

I did machines for about a year before switching to free weights. Now the only machine I want is a time machine to go back and start with free weights.

It makes a huge difference. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/744311-free-weights-vs-machines-holy-crap
