    I'm Indian :) as in both my parents were born in India

    I have a PIO card (Person of Indian Origin) because my husband is Indian (Punjabi). I lived & worked in Mumbai, India for almost 2 years (but people already know that looking at my profile).

    I was an heroin addict living on the streets for years-homeless for almost 2 years--- .been clean for 3 years Dec.18..thats how I gained all my weight .I went into a recovery house at 115 lbs and gained over 100 lbs in 3 months and have never been able to get rid of it till I started on here..

    CONGRATS on your recovery!! Keep doing what you're doing and don't look back! You go!!

    I don't have any dominant genes, only recessive ones (found this out in biology class in H.S. when they handed out strips of paper with some sort of chemical on it that's supposed to taste bitter, when you put it in your mouth, if you have dominant genes - I tried several times but tasted nothing). Apparently, I am only one in my family like this ...

    Again. Let me just say that I appreciate all the candor out there. I wonder if the sharing we do here also helps us "lighten" our emotional load as we lose weight.
    - I am terrified of even the most casual public speaking, but secretly believe I'd be great at it if i could just get over my fear!

    I do too, but faced my fear when I (ironically) worked as a Voice & Accent trainer for a call center in India!! I had to stand up and speak in front of people every day! Most amazing and challenging experience ever!! :happy:
