I know this is a joke, but I have to say that when I was nursing I was rather productive (so much so that I donated over 300 ounces to the national milk bank that they use to supply breast milk to hospitals and such) as well as freeze enough to continue to provide my son with only breast milk for 2 – 3 months after I stopped nursing. It was suggested to me that instead of donating the milk I pay for the blood work out of pocket necessary to provide breast milk to the banks and sell my breast milk. Because I was dairy and gluten free it would apparently have sold for a premium of about $4 per ounce. So, I basically donated $1200 worth of the good stuff over a 6 – 9 month period of time.

    Do you know?
But really, that's awesome about you donating it!

I think it's a great idea. Cow milk was made for baby cows. It makes much more sense for humans to drink human milk. Plus, human milk is sweeter and tastes better than cow milk.

lol wow, are you really telling her to drink human breast milk. SMH

Didn't a shop in England sell breast milk ice cream for a while?

It probably isn't bad for you anyway.

If I'm looking for a good protein, fat, immune system booster, should I drink human breast milk? I see people sell it online, and it seems pretty green (women don't produce as much methane as cows, or so I'm told).

Could I just mix it in a protein shake to disguise the taste?

    ...sh-t aint that serious.

I really wanted to try that breast milk ice cream but the authorities shut it down. I guess you can't regulate what the women are eating and how they're taking care of themselves like you can cows. I imagine it would take some sort of PETA cages where the women are hooked up to pumps. Any volunteers? I guess not.

I've just never heard any logical reason as to why someone shouldn't. It makes sense to me...

I used to use my wife's as coffee creamer when we were out. It's really quite tasty. Like horchata but not quite as sweet.

I don't understand why so many people are freaked out by this, you will all happily drink the breastmilk of another species but from your own and its gross? Whos the weird ones....

ANYWAY I think it's a great idea, not only is it nutritious is has amazing health benefits. However the quality issue is something that would bother me, like others have said pretty much everything the donor consumes goes into the milk plus the storage and cleanliness issues, not to mention HIV, hepatitis etc. I wouldn't unless I knew and trusted the person 100%, I wouldn't have donor milk unless it was from the same place the hospital get theirs from (wherever that is) because they have very strict regulations since a lot of donated milk is given to premature babies.

I think my qualm is more obtaining the milk. You can find donors online, but with the cost of breastmilk from a bank being really high, it seems a little selfish to ask for donor milk for non-threatening health reasons. It's more suited for infants who *need* that nutrition, when I feel like as an adult, you can find other ways to supplement your diet.

All that sarid, if you have someone in mind who isn't using that milk, well, by all means -- it's certainly not going to hurt you.

Is the next thing people are going to say is to eat human ground burger? I think cows milk and cows beef should do just fine. Consuming something from another human seems a bit weird to me, other than breast feeding an INFANT.

    There's a fetish for that.

Some ladies love their husbands to suck their breast milk. I don't know why you can't find your way into a threesome and enjoy the goodies.
