I eat NET calories per day of 1200. Typically I actually eat a little over 1700 calories per day (burn at least 500).
The "roadmap" gave me a figure of about 1700, as did "Scoobysworkshop" so I'm using the MFP calculation but tweaking my exercise to allow me to eat the target amount that should be 20% less than my Total Daily Energy Expenditure.0 -

I'm currently doing the 30ds. It's not that long and helps me get into the habit of working out every day. I'm going to do this and walk around my neighborhood and when the 30 days are over, I hope to take up more activity. Trying to stay at 1800 calories consumed a day.
I am currently doing strength training/weight lifting because to do any cardio, I have to go in my garage and its too cold for that right now! I burn about 200 calories by using our Bowflex - planning on doing it 5 days a week.
I have begun tracking food again and am trying to have a deficit. I don't want to eat back the calories I burn.
Overall goal is to get to a healthy weight and have a healthy BMI. I would also like to set a better example for my children, as my 8 year-old son is quite hefty and I don't want him to have the same poor body image I have. I have a one-year old daughter and I know that her preteen/teenage years are going to be dramatic enough without adding obesity to the list of things that ails teenage girls0 -

I am eating less than 60 carbs per day. When it was nice out, I was riding my bike each morning for about 45 minutes before work but haven't done any exercise this winter to speak of.
When I post what I am eating I tend to stay on track better. During the holidays I fell off tracking and fell off eating healthy. Back on track now and have just about lost my holiday weight.
Thank you for posting this, it is very enlightening to see that those of us in this height range are looking at about the same goal weight.0 -

I eat mostly whatever, anywhere from 800-1800 cals a day. Trying to cut down on grains and up protein. I also eat fatty meats, butter, peanut butter, and I like to bake, so I make breads and stuff. I just try to make sure every calorie is tasty, and then lots of veggies.

Hi there!
I'm 24, 5'9", and current weight is ~159 lbs. My goal weight is 140, but 135 certainly wouldn't hurt! I work out daily (about 6 times a week at an intense level for at least 45 minutes). Currently doing the Insanity workout 4 times a week, running on the treadmill 1 day a week, and Pilates on the weekend. I'd estimate that I burn anywhere from 350-700 calories per day from exercise. I set my net calorie intake to 1550 per day (up from the 1200 that MFP recommended after researching and finding out that I probably was NOT losing weight due to the low level of caloric intake). My goal is primarily to lose weight, though hoping Insanity tones my body a bit more as well!

I eat about 1800 calories per day. Mon, Wed, Fri I burn about about 1300 to 1400 calories. Tues, Thurs, Sat I burn between 500 and 800 calories. I do group fitness at my local gym...combination of Body Pump (3xperwk), and cadio including Step, Step with 5lb hand weights, Zumba, Cardio/Core and Pilates. Im really focused on my Body Fat Percentage as I feel that is a better indicator of overall health and fitness.
