    pop - green tea with a lemon wedge and drop of honey

    chips/crisps - apple slices with a little bit of crunchy peanut butter

    (veggie) burgers - open faced sandwiches on whole grain bread.

    fried eggs - poached/boiled eggs

    custard - oatmeal mixed with mashed banana and grapes

    ice cream - low fat frozen yoghurt and berries

    Instead of soda, I drink sparkling water. Instead of starchy high cal, high sodium boxed side dishes, I eat extra veggies. Instead of ice cream, cakes and cookies, I eat Skinny Cow. Oh and instead of lunch meats I grill extra chicken breasts and make chicken salads.

    Instead of having substitutes for what I actually wanted, I have the real thing. Unless it's finals week or along those lines. Ironically, the kind of caffeine I go through then requires me to eat like a nineties dieter for the sake of comfort - so much for all-nighters and delivery food.

    Tuna hotdish... tuna salad on grilled eggplant or greens off the sale sheet.
    Sugary pastries... grapefruit sections
    Lasagna - squash "lasagna" (nuke-from-scratch with squash slices instead of pasta)

    Instead of a 200ml glass of orange juice in the morning I pour 100mls and top up the glass with very cold water.
    So refreshing, and less calories and sugar.

    Instead of cal dense noodles, I eat buckwheat ramen. 55 cal a serving and it's soooo filling and yummy (not like that disgusting slim pasta plastic...)

    Instead of half a family-size bag of chips, I eat 1-2 cups of unbuttered popcorn (with Accent).
    Instead of a mountain of white rice, I eat a cup of quinoa.
    Instead of gallons of butter... well, I just skip this one most days.
    Instead of a 1500+-calorie fast-food meal, I eat a turkey burger on a sandwich thin + fresh raw veggies.
    Instead of three grilled cheese slathered in butter, I eat a 1oz quesadilla on small corn tortillas with deli turkey.
