is getting implants worth it?

Keep in mind that if you are a 32D or 34D that T-shirts will not fit proportionally anymore - they'll be super tight or won't fit right and you may have to say goodbye to some styles.
I had a C when I was smaller, and I have a large frame, and shirts still didn't fit me right in the chest.0 -
It's only worth it if:
1. You're doing it for yourself
2. You're prepared to pay the ongoing costs of having it redone every few years
3. You're prepared to deal with any hassle if they get infected, etc
4. You're prepared in case they don't look that great once they're done
I think it's a bit of a hassle, personally, but it's entirely up to you! Hope you're happy whatever you decide. :flowerforyou:
Edit: P.S. I'm a 34A, which is probably as small as you can get, and I wouldn't want them changed for anything! Having small boobs doesn't make you less attractive.0 -

I think it's been said over and over on here, but if you have a smaller frame try not to go too big or you will have to have everything altered. That gets expensive, but if you have bigger boobs and small frame it's going to happen. Keep it balanced with the rest of your body.
I didn't have the option to pick my breast size, they just picked me naturally. But do what makes you happy and makes you feel the most comfortable with your body. I will eventually get mine taken down a notch or 2 soon enough so I completely understand wanting to feel more comfortable in your own skin.0 -
Why don't people understand bra sizes? I'm sorry, I work as a bra fit specialist and it bugs me lol. If you're a 34 you're going to stay a 34 regardless of if you get implants or not. The number refers to how big you are around UNDER your breasts. The cup size is the size of your actual breasts.
On top of that, where are you guys shopping that you can't find cute bras in size 34D? lol I've worked with bras for 5 years and that's a VERY common size. I was a 34D at one point and I had no problem finding bras. I could see it being harder when you get to a 32 BUT I work at Soma intimates and they have tons of cute stuff in sizes like that.
Sorry, just had to point that out. lol
Also, just for the record, when I was bigger I used to wear a 38DD and now that I'm in a C cup I miss them dearly!!! I don't know what you people are talking about saying that big boobs are a hassle. I loved mine!! lol
The band size/cup size confusion is a huge pet peeve of mine as well.
To OP, I agree that if you are doing it to feel better about yourself you should do it. If you are worried about attracting men, think about it some more.
I like having a larger chest--currently wearing a 34G, but I've lost weight since I bought these bras & now measure at 32H (US). Honestly, if I lose the rest of my weight (30 lbs) & all of a sudden have small boobs, I'd be into a surgeon's office the next day. Yes, there are many styles of clothes that I can't wear. I do most of my shopping at the thrift store & have to take a cartload of stuff in to try on--there is no way I could ever wear a small t-shirt & if the fabric is not clingy enough to highlight my bust & also conform to the shape of my waist, it does make me look heavier than I am. Some things I'll put on & it's just obscene. I am also short (5' 2.5") so I look a little top heavy. I am OK with that. I don't have bra straps that dig into my shoulders--the band of your bra should be really tight because that is where the support is from, not the straps. I don't enjoy running anyway & I can Zumba with boobs  . I sleep on my side or back--sleeping on your stomach is bad for your back anyway (according to my husband's chiropractor). I've never had a boob related backache & I have good posture. With all that, you should carefully consider what size you want. Both my mother & sister hated having a larger chest (it runs in the family) & both had reductions. Also consider the changes your body will go through as you age & have children.0 -
I was turned on about the idea until I was told they have to be "redone" every decade more or less. Pff, I'm only 22! I'm not looking to redo this surgery numerous times for the rest of my life! Booo0

yeah I know..I went from a 36 to 34 with weight loss...didn't change the cup size though.0 -
This thread is full of irony. The ones that have, want them smaller; the ones that don't, want them bigger.0

Regular boob sized people don't get the furrows on their shoulders form bra straps?? *mind BLOWN*
Thanks for sharing this, reduction surgery is something I consider from time to time (I am 5 3 and a 32F), and your story is a great one to hear :flowerforyou:
I had reduction surgery at 18 ( my doctor wanted me to have it because I had some really bad lower back issues - kept throwing my back out - and it was all covered by insurance because it was deemed "medically necessary") and when I gained weight, they came back... so just make sure you don't gain weight if you have it done, because they might come back!0 -
Breast implants is b u l lsh it!!
Dont listen to other people or anything like that, the one for you will take you as you are! See there are some guys like me that like smaller boobies and besides that are more of a *kitten* man and even besides that, love goes beyond that
Gold star award ^.
If you get them, please keep 'em covered for you and your man. You almost want to say, "Nice breasts!" just to get rid of the elephant in the room. People with implants often lose respect for their intimate nature. It's like "I paid for these puppies, let's show them off!" They are a body part intended for privacy.
One of the most beautiful and lovely women is know is almost flat-chested. She shines like a diamond. Love her dearly. Love the message she sends her young daughter. Love that her man is totally committed to her and everything about her.
And...keep in mind that huge boobies on an old woman's body look...rather abnormal.0 -
I think you shold do whatever makes you happy, but ensure that this isnt a substitute for some other deeper meaning.
Also, pics.
good guy...while covered in tats an piercings.  :laugh:0 -

Nah man, mine are big (36D/DD, never had an issue finding cute bras or having to pay any more for them then my smaller busted friends. D is a 'normal' size, not an extended size. Not sure why others are having issue) and I love them. They make my shirts look gooood.
I've never been smaller than C, at around 125, but if I ever was I'd pay to pump these suckers back up without hesitation. Some ladies are happy smaller and that's great, but some of us don't ever want to be anything but big.0 -

I underwent life saving surgery in November last year, there's no way I'd undergo any other form of major surgery unless my life depended on it.
Each to their own though :drinker:0 -
you are asking opinions of people if they think implants are worth it- of course most people will say no. it is a personal choice and it is only "worth it" to you. it won't be to anyone else. for me, they were worth it. i love the way i look with them and my husband does too. i could give a *kitten* what anyone else thinks. some people will love them and some will not. do what you really want or don't want and do research if you do decide to get them. a good doctor will make all the difference.0

OP, I recommend visiting JBI (justbreastimplants.com). There you will find support from women with like minds. There are far too many unhappy haters on this site who struggle with hating their own bodies and lash out on others because of it. Best of luck to you.0

I have implants, but I did it for me and no one else.0

You are easily amused. A simple mind. I like that.0 -
You should do what makes you happy, but I think you look gorgeous the way you are.0

There is no way I would put myself under anesthesia for the sake of bigger boobs. Also, I don't want something "foreign" in my body.
My mother had implants about 30 years ago. She had to have them replaced this year - and at 70 years old - it was just a ridiculous thing to have to go through. It took her 3 months to recover.0 -

I have implants and it's the best thing I ever did, but I've wanted them since I was about 13 (got them at 20).
Not to mention I'm a size 14 and always have been so I always felt I was missing balance in the chest area.
I got them for myself not to 'feel more attractive to males' so the fact that you're even saying that makes me say not to get them.
Also I think that since you've only desired them as a side effect to weight loss you should wait at least a year or two at your new size to adjust to it as your mind set might change.
A boob job is for life (or at least it is without 4 grand to reverse it!)
(Oh and PS you DON'T have to get them re-done EVER with modern implants, that no longer applies to the decision)0 -
