You're doing great to stay within your calories. I'm so impressed!
Awestfall - good job on switching things up to find a process that isn't as stressful to you! We have to make this livable and stressful diet stuff won't help.
jlb123 - I can't seem to do squats - my knees KILL me before I get close to knee level! I guess I'll have to rest on my crunch ability laurals and keep working on my push-upsAND RUNNING!
Awestfall - what if you find some sort of exercise that's a fun challenge for you and stop thinking about making your summer goal? What if you re-write your birthday goal to a sport goal - like to be able to run 3 miles or to be able to do 100 squats... or all of the above? Just focus on your activity and eating well and KNOW that the weight will come off one way or another...
Maybe I should think about taking my own advice?
mstahl, have you ever tried a 1/2 squat? You stand up and start to squat but stop half way down. It is much easier on the knees and it will help you to build up to a whole squat. Just a thought0 -
There is a website for runners, I use it as a walker and you can map out a walk or run in your area and it will tell you how many miles you have gone. I was very impressed with my 4 yo boy. He walk 2.25 miles with me yesterday and we walked about 2.5 mph on this walk. Today he walk 1.5 miles and again he walked with me between 2.5-3 mph. The walk I take with him is my slow walk but I think it is impressive that a little guy like that can do this with so much energy. He jumps and skips and runs the entire time. In the evening I go on my fast walk with my hubby who walks between 3.5 - 4 mph. I prefer the little man's walks:laugh:

Hey girls just checking in to tell you gals I am still here.I am trying not to focus so hard on calories and what I am eating because I really believe that it is a set back for me.I have noticed that if I don't think about it I lose weight.I believe I am stressing so I am trying to relax and just be cautious about what I put in my mouth and how much of it I put in my mouth.So in other words I am winging it with calories right now.And to my surprise 2 pounds back off of me this morning.Not a real loss because I was less last week but its that same darn 4 pounds I gain and then lose over and over again.I will get it right though and it will start moving again.

Being relatively new to this I have yet to hit a plateau and live through that frustration. I know that I will hit one sooner or later and when that happens I might get on this board and vent about my lack of loss and talk about stopping tracking my food and checking in. If that occurs I would hope that you and everyone else would tell me to stick with it and stick with the plan, keep logging, keep checking in.
Sorry, I know this a bit "tough love" but I'm worried for you. I joined this group probably for the same reasons that you started this group. To have a support system and to be held accountable. To track my progress and compare notes.
PLEASE keep tracking and keep checking in every day please please please.

Jib - WTG on the out fit and being honked at
i know what you mean about an outfit...i usally don't do "outfit's" maybe i will one day.
That may my run is pretty cool. I have used it to determine how long I am walking (of course it has my street spelt wrong.
Today has been hectic haven't been on the computer most of the day...ugg
First this morning... i get the girls up all ready and about to leave, and i can't find my keys , i tear up the house and can't find them, then call Hubby..and yep he took them...great..but then he couldn't leave until 8. So l was like great serena will be late for school...then i am like well maybe she can go on the bus, so she did that...but then had to wait till he could come home to bring me keys to take abby to day care.
Then i took abby to the ENT today, he is recommending tubes in her ears. Waiting for the scheduler to call and setup the date and time. Looked at my insurance and i am going to have to meet my deductible + 100 copay , a little nervous about how much this is going to cost...but I know i need to do it for her, hopefully this will help her not get sick soo much and may even help with her speech.
Nice of the school to give us notice but it is the open house tonight...we weren't going to go as we are up at her school all the time anyway, but serena was very excited so we are going to go.0 -
lildebbie, I hate it when my husband does that. He has done that to me before. Our problem is he works in another city and there is no way I am getting my keys until he gets home at 5:30.
awestfall, try this for a week. If it does not work go back to tracking your cals. I know stress will cause you NOT to lose weight. So if it is stressful right now then wait. But check your weight each week. Also make sure you check in with us and let us know how you are doing.
Wow jlb. that was awesome. I knew I was getting too fat when men quit falling all over themselves to get my door. Now they just let it fall in my face.:laugh: That was quite the awakening for me is all the attention came to a suddent halt. Then I saw my self in am mirror and knew what the reason was too much fluff in my stuff.:laugh: The other day I was walking out of the store and some guy started making cat calls to me, then I looked and it was my husband:laugh:
Well Girls about 2 weeks ago my life got turned upside down. Today, this whole situation was resolved and it happened in the way I had hoped. Thank God in HEaven for looking out for us. Watch out momma is back and I am feeling pretty good. Husband is taking me out tonight. It will put me over on cals but we need the night out. We need some together time and just to relax. We have been really relying on each other and fretting together tonight we relax and enjoy each other. You don't even know how much weight just lifted off my shoulders today.0 -

Went to serena's open house. They had a book fair too, we got a cookbook of low cal stuff lot of it looked good.
Talked to the speech therapsist while we wer ethere, she baiscally said abby didn't quailfy for speech therapy, she would send us the evaluation. She thinks the tubes would help a lot. She said after she gets the tubes lets wait like 6 months, if there is no improvment to come back and talk to her. She (and I ) think maybe if her hearing is muffled from the fluid then she could be why she isn't saying stuff right. She can make all the sounds.0 -

Bluenote-I'm good in the kitten department. Right around Christmas we actually found a kitten meowing that got stuck up in my ceiling my closet somehow and we ended up keeping it. He's about 5 months old and just LOVES to terrorize my dog. We named him Simba. LOL

Calories: Not too sure because we went out to dinner for my roommates birthday and the Mexican restaurant doesn't have a nutrition menu but we split a meal so I had 1 enchilada. I did mow on the chips and salsa though...I had like 800 calories for dinner with all my workout calories so I'm thinking I'm probably okay
Water: 80oz
Exercise: Got up at 4:45 to complete w1d2 of c25k!!
Proud: I got up at the crack of dawn to get my workout in since I knew I had plans at night!

Good morning, ladies!
Checking in for yesterday:
Calories: Over by 800 (all of it was chocolate milk!)
Water: 32 oz., but only 12 oz of Diet Coke and 32 oz of chocolate milk.
Exercise: None, was taking a rest day due to being sore. I'll be back at it tonight.
Proud: That I didn't eat ice cream (two days without it)
So this morning, I walk into the breakroom to clock in and what do I find? Delicious look, wonderful smelling doughnuts brought in by a co-worker. And guess what? They have my favorite kind!! What do I do? Walk past them to clock in and directly walk back to my desk to eat the fruity Cheerios I brought from home. I will attempt to avoid the lunchroom until all doughnuts (at least the kind I like) are gone.
We have a potluck lunch today but I am going to try to be sensible and stick to one sandwich (we're having pulled pork, hot beef and sloppy joes), and some fruit or veggies. I will try to avoid the desserts at all costs. My mom wants to have Mexican for dinner tonight, so I have to be really good the rest of the day. However, I am planning on having fajitas, which shouldn't be too bad if I skip the sour cream and perhaps not put the meat and veggies in tortillas. This will be a tough eating day with all of the extra food easily accessible.

I let TOM kick my butt last night. Fell asleep around 9pm with no exercise *AT ALL* yesterday. Failed my own challenge. Boooo. Plus, I ate like I was going to exercise because I couldn't keep my ridiculous peanut butter cravings under control. :laugh: Oh well, at least they were healthy(ish) calories and I was still only at about 1500 so no big deal.
Saw a little loss from yesterday anyway. Last week I was 211.6. Today I'm 210.2. I'm so close to 200 I can almost taste it. Just another 5-6 weeks and I'll be there. For the first time since... Oh, probably since I was 13 or 14. :noway:

No weight loss for me this week.I just lost the same 4 pounds that I keep gaining and losing over and over again but I am going back to my old ways from last year when I was losing like crazy.1200 calories strict a day and 1 hour of exercise and no exercise clas unless I am hungry.I was losing big time doing this and this is how my doctor instructed me to do it before so I am going to stick at it until I get smaller and then he told me I could add a few more calories to my diet as long as I am continuing to be active.So next week I am aiming for big numbers.

I started the month at 183.9 I have a BIG FAT WHOPPER ticker right nowI am going to get my butt in gear, start the C25K and watch what I eat (and drink). I keep skipping my morning elliptical workout - I only did it 3 times this week...

awestfall-Good job girl getting back on the elliptical. Don't let it get you down! I've missed my goals too but I'm really trying to let not it get me down. Think I'm going to drop back down to 1200 calories and not eat my exercise calories and see what happens!
