Well Girls about 2 weeks ago my life got turned upside down. Today, this whole situation was resolved and it happened in the way I had hoped. Thank God in HEaven for looking out for us. Watch out momma is back and I am feeling pretty good. Husband is taking me out tonight. It will put me over on cals but we need the night out. We need some together time and just to relax. We have been really relying on each other and fretting together tonight we relax and enjoy each other. You don't even know how much weight just lifted off my shoulders today.

I am SO glad to hear your situation has been resolved in the way you hoped! Enjoy your night out with your hubby, you deserve it! :drinker:

You gals have done so great this week.

mstahl, do not fret it will be gone by next week. You have been very consistant with your weight loss.

Well today is ugly, but it has been very beautiful and it is going to be beautiful tomorrow, We are thinking of taking the kids on a drive to the coast maybe to monterey bay aquarium, or santa cruz, or half moon bay, San fransico, We just can't seem to decide. We just know we want to hit the coast and all of these places are driving distance day trips. This means long walks along the beach, burn those cals in the sand. So I am pretty excited. It has been awhile since we have done anything like this. I love living near enough to the coast that I can drive and enjoy it but do not have to pay the high price of living there. Yikes it can be expensive there. CA is expensive enough with out getting too close to the coast. Just thought I would share looking forward to tomorrow. Excited. So glad my life is back to normal. :flowerforyou:

No loss this week ... but I've been over on calories most days so I should be happy I didn't gain, especially with my 'weekend off' last weekend. I actually had a slight gain but I'm saying 0 because it feels better, and not changing my ticker.

    checking in for yesterday:
calories: over ... I thought I was doing well, but when I added everything up I was over by 600 ... not very smart choices I guess
exercise: good - and hour of step at the Y and an hour of turbo kick this morning
water: didn't count and I'm sure I didn't have enough, I forgot my water bottle in the car at work and didn't bother to go and get it
proud: that I'm tracking and here ... especially on a Friday
    Have a good weekend all!

Bounced up and then right back down where I started. I want to see some 3's next week! Comeon 230's! Dangit, I havent even een one and I've been around 240 for a week XD Although I'm sure this means I'm set up for a substantial loss here in the next few days, wish me luck!

    Checking in for yesterday:
    calories: Right on
    Water: Over <3
    Exercise: stairs?
Proud: I didn't eat my leftovers which would put me over my calories by 300, instead I ate some low calorie soup for dinner that put me right on top of my calorie goal! Hooray for self control!

congrats Momma, I'm glad you're feeling better.

awestfall - wow thats pretty inspiring. I'm going to work extra hard at the gym tonight

Wow, Cris, congrats on the big loss this week! You rock. I think the running kick jumped your momentum a bit.

Momma: Glad your situation was resolved the way you were hoping. Have a wonderful weekend with your family!

So I survived the potluck and didn't eat as many calories as I anticipated. I still have to make it through Mexican tonight but I at least have an idea of what I should and shouldn't eat. Mind you, this may not actually stop me from eating what I truly WANT but I will workout tonight since I'm no longer sore.

Anyway, better try to focus on work again. Boo! At least it's Friday!

A co-worker left a cup of mint chocolate chip ice cream with nuts on top, on my desk (he's so rotten!) and I ate it - but stopped after four bites and threw the rest into my trash can!

I hadn't had lunch yet so I counted the ice cream and nuts in my food diary, then ate a hard boiled egg to provide some protein! If I get hungry later I'll eat my last apple.

I did OK last night at dinner - we served Swedish Meatballs (store bought). I made a sauce of low-fat cream of celery soup, with milk and french onion soup mix. Normally I would use cream of mushroom but one of my dinner guests thinks she's allergic to mushrooms. It tasted great and I ate five - no noodles so not too bad. I had budgeted for the meat balls and wine (we hall a "ball" theme for March Madness) but I also ate three small balls of fresh mozzarella cheese and cherry tomatoes, a tangerine, and apple and a few olives...

I'm not too upset because it was all good food and I did say NO to the margarita and chips!

By the way you gals are doing awesome!!! ALL OF YOU !! I will be back with you gals soon I just know I will. This sunshiny weather is making my mood lift.So weight is bound to fall off now.

Thanks Awestfall, way to pick yourself back up and get right back on track!!!
Clocks go forward this weekend so that's something to look forward to.

I am also on 1200 and I tend to eat some of my exercise cals but not all, usually about 1/2. If you are interested in a detox to get you started I did one at the beginning that was a real boost. It was not one of those scary ones where you eat nothing but cabbage or lemonade. I got it from Martha Stewart and it is basically 4 days of having juices for breakfast & dinner and a sensible lunch. All the menus are based on getting all your nutrients in. I'll be happy to share the menus with you via email if you are interested (or anyone else for that matter). It is really long so I won't post on the forum.

jlb, thank you for your reassurance! I needed to hear it from you this week. I was sort of bummed about not losing on Tuesday, but you're absolutely right about fluctuations. Sometimes I just need a swift kick in the rear to get me back on the path!

Congrats to all of our winners, whether it be the scale, inches, or being accountable and honest with yourself. We are all here for each other and I am so grateful for everyone single one of you! Here's to a GREAT weekend!!!

    check in:

cals: OK but oh my WAY over on fat! I went to a wine bar tonight and had lots of fontina cheese. Who knew that fontina was so freaking high in fat compared to other cheeses?!?!?! :blushing:
    water: almost to 80! Yay!
exercise: 40 + 10 bike, arms, PLUS I danced with my 3rd grade students for twenty minutes! I was exhausted, happy and smelly!
proud: a teacher came up to me after school and said, "Wow, Ms. K., you were really gettin' down in that room with your third graders! I had to stop and take a double look to make sure I wasn't seeing things! You go with that dancing self!" I was so happy I almost jumped for joy!!!

Good eveneing ladies. I am feeling really good today, i didn't loose any weight but am glad i am sticking to it this week.

I was putting my cals in , i was suprised on my cals for lunch. I went to applebeese. Ihad the chicken paridasie salad. It was a WW 6 pts, wasn't sure how many cals that equaled to....I pulled it up in the food diary and found 350 i am pleased with that...not sure if is right as not sure what 6pts equals too. There really was not that much to it.

I walked 2x today too...again killing my ankles, calfs and knees , but i did it..No running, but i did. Me and hubby walked a little over a mile, then after dinner we walked a little less than 1/2 mile to the park and back with the kids.

So her is my check in
    Cals - Good on target...
    Exercise - 1 1/2 miles
Water - 32 oz..better than most days,...stikll not great but getting there.
Proud - That i am really trying to get back on track.

my house is such a mess i need to clean it , just trying to get moving...already sorted all the laundry just waiting of the washer and dryer to free up...bout have to take the little one to soccer tots and the to pack stuff for them to go to my moms

We are going out tonight to the studio movie grill, i am soo looking foward to the co**** crusted chicken they have there...they are most likely high in calories but going to try to offset the cals by eating lower and walking later to allow for it.

    Checking in for yesterday-

    Calories - over
Water - I'm doing GREAT on that thanks to jlb's challenge and buying some water for home use!
    Exercise - Just my sit-ups and push-ups

Proud - We had a date night last night - went to Olive Garden (thus the over in Calories) because we had a gift certificate. We agreed to no alcohol and no appetizers (so unlike us!) and stuck to it! I had a great dish of braised beef and mushrooms with tortellini and I just ate the beef and mushrooms and about 1/4 of the cheese filled pasta. I ate the salad with dressing but no croutons, and I had 1 1/2 bread sticks (not so proud there). I entered all the calories and counted the meal as 1/2 portion and I'm still way over but again - pretty good choices and there's no way to show I had more protein and less carbs than the dish ratios.

Not so proud - of the bread sticks and my husband ordered a piece of white chocolate raspberry cheesecake and I ate a few bites (and logged them of course!). None the less it was vast improvement over our historical date night outings!

I haven't been to Olive Garden for dinner in years! I was impressed with the flavor of the dishes - much better than I remember but that could just be my diet talking  Food does taste SO MUCH BETTER when you're eating a lot less of it!

Today should be much better! I had an apple for breakfast and I'm going to make a yummy frittata with left overs for lunch!

BlueNote- I've included my frittata recipe for lunch just for you  If you slice this into eight pieces it's only about 144 calories per slice, 15 grams protein and 3.8 grams carbs - not bad!!! (per Calorie Count) plus I'll probably add a dab of Greek yogurt on top when I serve it, and maybe some chives if mine are accessible on our deck (they've been protected by a snow bank for a few months!)

    1 cup chopped asparagus
    2 cups sliced mushrooms
    1/2 cup chopped onion
    2 cups left over chicken
fist full of fresh baby spinach chopped
    3 eggs
    3/4 cup 1% milk
    1/2 cup low-fat cheese
    minced rosemary and thyme
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 tbsp olive oil
    1 tsp butter

Pre-heat oven to 400 with cast iron skillet in the oven (or heat proof casserole dish)

Saute onions and mushrooms in olive oil and butter until soft and water has been evaporated - add asparagus and spinach, reduce heat and simmer until water has been absorbed, add some salt, pepper and seasonings while simmering.

In a mixing bowl whisk eggs and milk until combined then whisk in cheese.

Add chicken to veggies to heat the chicken.

Remove hot skillet or casserole from the oven, spray with oil, add veggie/chicken and pour egg mixture over the top. Return to the oven and check after 15 minutes. It's done when the egg mixture has set (like a quiche).

I let is cool on the stove top for about 15 minutes (it will kinda shrink) then slice it like a pie. The left overs freeze well and make nice lunches for later in the week!

All my measurements are approximate - I hardly ever measure anything! I only make recipes that are very forgiving that way

    Hi Lildebbie,
I find housework so much more enjoyable now that I log it as exercise calories!!! Depending on how vigorously you perform the tasks it can be the equivalent of a moderate or a brisk walk. :smokin:

    Hi you amazing ladies,

mstahl: I'm ready to eat now and wow that frittata sounds divine. I have never made one but think I will give it a try. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Last night on out way home I picked up a few groceries at the market and they had fresh asparagus that is young and small. mmm-mmm Going to bake some for Sunday dinner. I lay asparagus on a cookie sheet sprinkle with olive oil and sea salt and bake. Good job on no drinks and appetizers.

momma2four: A day at the beach sounds fabulous. The best fettuccine alfredo I have had in my life, was in San Francisco. And Boudins bakery, oh sourdough like nowhere else in the world. Okay I'm killing myself with this food talk. I haven' been to Monterey Bay for years, you are so lucky to be close enough for day trips. Can you get Boudins in your city? I see it at the airport but I didn't know if was sent to surrounding areas.

jlb123: I weighed 100 pounds in 2nd grade, that has been awhile. So you math whiz, help me out here. My husband did something to the computer so I lost the menshealth percentage lost link. Last week I weighed 187.2, this week 186. I took 186 and divided into 187.2 and my calculator spit out 0.9935. I know this is not rocket science, I have a partial functioning brain, sorry to be dense. mstahl: you figure your own to, is this the formula you use?

lildebbie: So happy to see you sticking with this.

meokk: Would you please come and clean my house. I know I should be excited to burn those calories myself, but I am tired today and just want to veg out! awestfall, how about you??? Come get your Saturday recreation at my house. I wish that your compulsive cleaning would rub off on me. I love a clean tidy home with everything in its place. Getting it that way and keeping it that way is an entirely different issue.

Have a great weekend. I forget to check who our biggest loser is, but I will be watching for our challenge. This week I did well with the water, but the cardio end was a bust.

    Happy Saturday ladies!
I worked 7.15-12.30 this morning taking pictures of kids... muddy kids. muddy pictures of muddy kids with a muddy camera and a muddy me. I am COVERED in mud. But I refuse to take a (another) shower until after I run. Fun times.

My best friend is coming to visit today (she lives in VA near DC). She stopped by to visit friends in the city where I used to live first. There is the most AMAZING Thai restaurant there and she called me this morning to ask if she could bring me anything from there. Um, yeah, you can! Yellow curry with fried tofu and fresh thai springrolls, yum! If I just eat that in addition to what I've had for breakfast and lunch and then maybe just have some greek yogurt as a snack later, I won't even be over my calories. I kind of feel a trip to the bar coming on though... I haven't been out to a bar since last August or so, so I'm due. It's not like we go out and get sloppy drunk so I'd probably only have 2 beers max anyway. Though, OMG, the HUGE St. Pat's Day festival is in 5points (one of the bar districts.. yeah, I said ONE of them -- big college town  ). I lived in 5 Points for years and that festival gets way freaking out of control every single year after everyone gets good and sauced (by like 1pm  ). I think we'd avoid that mess and just go to a more quiet bar in The Vista (The more "mature" bar district downtown. ). And now I'm rambling about stuff that doesn't even matter at all. Sorry.

jlb123 - I love living in a college town - or at least really near one (I live close enough to get pizza delivered but far enough out to have horses).

Snowflakes - you are close - it's the amount you've lost divided by the weight you were... so 1.2 pounds divided by 187.2 which gives you .0064 and that's .64% !!!

I'm a little slow with these things too- I re-took the GMAT test this past spring and couldn't remember how do divide exponents which means the test wouldn't give me any higher math problems to solve (like ratios which I know!). I couldn't afford to go to graduate school at the exclusive universities so there was no harm done but it was embarrassing since I live with math geeks!

I am sure I understand a story problem and I inevatably plug in numbers in the wrong order. When I tell my husband what I did he will shake his head and get a little smirk on the side of his mouth and think 21 years later your still doing the same thing. mstahl - you know I am going to fix that frittata ASAP - I even have all of the ingredients on hand! That never happens to me! Go me!
snowflakes - math and I have never seen eye to eye, so I know how you feel. I get tired of hearing people tell me I must be good at math because I am a musician. Uh, NO. I am good at music because I am a musician! LOL
lildeb - I hear you about the housework. I hate it!!! And with my little tazmanian devil kitten the house is a disaster every single day! When is he going to settle down??????? Please say tomorrow!!!!!!!! :noway:

    Hi Lildebbie,
I know nothing about these things but my fiance is an avid cyclist and had this to say......
They are good for indoor training especially if it is important to you to use the same bike whether inside or out. There are basically 2 types, Mag trainers and Fluid trainers. The Mag kind is noisier but cheaper and the Fluid kind have oil on the inside and are quieter but more expensive. If you go for Fluid, make sure it is a sealed chamber because if not it can leak.
The cheapest ones start around $100-120 and you can find a deal right now because the demand slows in the warmer months.

Let me know if you have any questions, he LOVES to talk about bikes. Good for you getting your exercise planned out!

    Hi girls,

Sorry I have been MIA but during the weekends its hard for me to log in for too long. Anyways here is my check in for Friday and Saturday:

    Fri-
Calories- way over (thank you fogo do chao)
    water- I think so
    sodium- sky high
    excercise- none
proud- that I enjoyed my self and didnt let that I was having an off night keep me down

    Sat-
    calories- under
    water- i dont think so
    sodium- ok
excercise- none, but painted the bathroom that was kind of a arm work out
proud- that I made up a little for the night before by watching my intake carefully

So I think I am the biggest loser? My challenge is that by Friday everyone take their measurements. You have a week to buy a cheap ole' measuring tape and take all your measurements. I keep telling myself that I am going to take them and have yet to do so. I think this can be beneficial for all of us because on those weeks that we dont see a good number, or even no loss we can measure our selves again and hopefully show progress regardless of no loss shown on the scale. Soooo I hope everyone does this!!!

    Talk to u all tomorrow!

    Cris

Ugh :grumble: and Yay  , cris. LOL I really need to take my measurements, but for some reason I have a mental block about it. I am not sure why! But I am going to force myself to do it since it is our challenge! I really wish I would've done it at the beginning because I know I have lost inches. The way I fit in my clothes is much more important to me than any number. And the way I FEEL is more important than my clothes fitting!
