water - 100 oz +
Sun:
Calories - Way over, almost 300 over exercise cals trying food at a place where we might have our wedding. It was so delicious but so much food. This is the most I've eating since joining MFP so I'm a bit scared....maybe it will be a "shock"
exercise - 30 day shred & 253 sit ups
proud that I at least exercised before we had the huge meal. There is no way I could do it after.0 -
Oh Deary, don’t feel depressed. You are doing a great job keeping at it. Maybe it’s the type of food you’re eating. Maybe your stomach is having a difficult time with some specific foods. My friend was having the same problem. I’ll ask her what she did to fix it. Thank you for sharing with us.0

Checking in!
Calories - Under (eating some exercise calories right now!)
Water - on it!
Exercise - OMG yes!
Proud - today we started our two week free trial at the campus wellness center. I haven't' been there since I was able to go for free ten years ago. I wanted to make sure I'd be able to get through stuff tomorrow AM and make it to work so today I did a practise run! Since I had time I did three different things FIRST - I did Day 1 Week 1 of the 5K101 program. It's a lot like the C25K program but it starts you out a little faster. I didn't think I'd be able to do it so I had both versions (podcasts) on my mp3 player and I thought I'd just start with the 5K101 and see how I did. I DID IT! I RAN 2 MINUTES STRAIGHT FOUR TIMES! I'm so excited and shocked and all flustered and it's been hours since I did it! OMG I didn't think there was ANY way I'd make it all the way through the first day! I ran on the soft indoor track and when my knees and shins kinda hurt I tried to land more mid-foot than heel and that seemed to help a lot! SECOND (after stretching out) I did a 25 minutes "Random Hill" program on a bike. I set the level to 5 out of 20 because I've NEVER been good at biking and didn't expect to be able to do the program but I did! My heart rate was up as high as when I was jogging but I did it! THIRD - I changed into my new suit and I swam laps! Well I swam in the lap pool but since it's been years since I swam I wasn't able to really do the crawl full laps so it was more like crawl 2/3 a lap, side stroke, crawl, float on my back and kick... and eventually I just went to the shallow end and walked while I did arm strokes because I couldn't swim any more LOL!
After the gym we went to a discount clothes store that sells seconds and odd lots and stuff that looks fine until you get it home and find big holes in the crotch LOL! I found a bunch of $1 t-shirts I can use at the gym, and a few pairs of long shorts, and most importantly two bras size 36 instead of my baggy 38s!
I was way under calories today until our housemate Beth made a lemon pie to celebrate Pi day (3.14). At least she made it with sugar free lemon pudding mix and low-cal whipped cream! For dinner I made a standard tuna noodle casserole but I used the Dreams Field pasta, low-fat cream of mushroom soup, and I sauteed 2 cups of mushrooms and 1/2 cup of chopped onions to add to it. I served it with a dollop of Greek yogurt - YUM!
OK off to bed with me as it's 11PM and I'm signed up for a 6:15 spinning class tomorrow morning! You can bet I'll be maxing out my free two week pass! I sure hope we can find a way to pay for a membership! What fun!0 -

Woooo. I'm having a rough start this morning. Must've been the staying out at a bar until 1am and that whole drinking 3 pints thing I moronically did last night... :grumble:
Good news is that I was only at 1600 calories or so for the day even with my liquid dinner. It's just that I'm soooooooooooooooo tired. Daylight savings time definitely hasn't helped my situation. That one majorly snuck up on me.
It was weird just to go out with a girl friend. I never do that. Nearly all of my friends are guys (I'm one of those "you're just one of the guys" girls. :indifferent:). As soon as we sat down at the bar I panicked for a second about the situation we had just put ourselves in (2 girls with no rings out at a bar... I got over my initial panic by just hoping everyone would think we were gay.). It's spring break & a Sunday night so the bar was pretty empty, which I loved.
It was very strange for me because for the whole 10 years we've been friends, I've always felt like the short, fat, ugly one of the 2 of us. Last night I didn't and that's a big thing for me. I mean, I was still short (which I like, actually)... but I didn't feel insanely fat or ugly. When I went to the bathroom I looked in the mirror and instead of thinking I was the hideous fatmonster I used to always see when I was out, I actually for the first time felt like I looked almost...pretty. I dyed my hair darker last week and I had put on a little (very natural looking) mascara & eyeshadow last night (I almost never wear make-up) and... well, I think I looked better than maybe I've ever looked before.
The REALLY REALLY REALLY HOT bartender (haha -- did I mention he was really hot?) flirted with me all night... Granted, there weren't too many ladies at the bar to choose from and he does work for tips... But then when we were cashing out, he looked at me and said "Are you *sure* you don't want to stay for another drink?" :blushing: I thought "I love my boyfriend, I love my boyfriend, I love my boyfriend" and then said "Nope --I have to work in the morning."
Regardless of the being bored, lack of foxy ladies to choose from, and tips factors, it was definitely the first time a bartender paid more than a second's worth of attention to me. I've been in situations in the past where I stood at a bar for 10 minutes just trying to get a bartender's attention so that I could buy a drink and tip really well! I mean, it's been to the point where I've given up on getting a drink at all because I was tired of waiting for the bartender to notice me waving a $20 bill around in the air. Now all of a sudden I get like.. the full attention of a bartender at the same bar (granted, different bartender)? Makes me feel good and bad at the same time.0 -

Wow that's awesome! Congrats on that self confidence that you are gaining!0 -
jlb: Way to go on your hotness! I'm glad to hear you're gaining so much confidence because you're amazing and you should know it! Now I want to be "hit on"...
mstahl: Congrats on the running and serious exercising you've been doing! I'm crossing my fingers that you'll be able to continue your gym membership after the free trial.
As for myself, I'm feeling some frustration because I'm gaining according to the scale. I've been working out hard to Jillian Michaels and walking. Other than last night's trip to Olive Garden, I ate within my calories all weekend. But, the scale says I'm up five pounds from two weeks ago. Yes, my ticker is a liar right now! I'm just not sure what else I need to be doing other than watch what I eat a bit more closely and keep working out. Don't worry, I'm not giving up, just needing to do some adjustments, I guess.0 -
Hi! Im back... i havent lost any but i dont think i've gained any while i was gone. Im getting breakfast now...usually just a granola bar with water though ..but hey something is better than nothing.
So i found this book called fat! So? ...its a good book i enjoyed it ....it talks about how you should hate yourself for your size...it talks about how being fat is okay but you need to still eat healthy and exercise. It also talks about how its fat...not overwieght because that implies that there is a normal wieght and its not obesity because that is a term for doctors....i really enjoyed the book and it made me feel better about myself ...my one criticism of it though was it should have emphasized the still be heathy part a little more.
Well unlike the book saying its okay to be fat as long as your heathy...im not so healthy right now...i still need to exercise more and eat better...but now im going to do this so my body will be heathy and to enjoy myself instead of lose wieght. (even though that would be a real plus!!! )
Proud: i am on today0 -

Renea: Above is the new link, as we move each week due to the high number of postings on each thread.
I'm glad you're back and that you found a book that put things into perspective for you. To touch on your point, yes we can be healthy if we're a bit overweight. I just read a health magazine this week that said someone who is 200 lbs. and very active is typically healthier than someone who weighs 150 lbs. and isn't active. Crazy, isn't it?
See you on the new thread!
