Butthurt

Options
Six months ago, I'd never even heard of such a thing, and now it seems to be everywhere. Have I gotten that old? Am I THAT out of the loop? Will I now be condemned to a life of saying such old school things as "hip" "blowin up my phone" and "fo shizzle"?? I can't take this madness!! *hugs herself and rocks back and forth in the corner* My question to you is this: what weird, new words/phrases have you learned lately? I need an urban education! I'm too white for all this coolness!!

I just read in my Communications textbook this morning that "CC" is text-speak for "I understand". I have never heard this before, but if it's in a textbook, it must be true... right?

CC in my career means Carbon copied...

CC at home means closed captioned...

    I use both regularly....

I suppose close-captioned is the special way of saying "I understand" to us deaf folks.

My 13yo tells me that I'm "not street", so I guess I'm too old to understand all these new fangled sayings. All I know is that these damn kids need to get off my lawn.

If you look up 'MFP forums' in the dictionary, 'butthurt' will be in the definition, so it's a useful term to know, good on you! :flowerforyou:

I always wait till a new expression is at least 6 months out of date before I use it. Then I use the hell out of it in front of my kids.
    Makes them crazier.

My son was out playing music live and I heard some of the kids in the audience say how "sick" he was... "That guy is SICK".... Well I was furious and was about to go give them a good piece of my mind when my son explained to me that "sick" actually means "GOOD". I felt way out of the loop.
