So I did some calculations based on the information from LittleSpy and I've decided that I'm shooting for 160 for my goal weight. Once I get there, I'll see how I feel about going lower. When the chub is gone, I'll focus on toning more and will most likely lose more from that alone, but I'd be thrilled with 160.
I was 150-155 when I graduated high school but still hadn't developed the hips to what they are now. I'm thinking about 10 lbs. more than high school sounds about right for me. I think that would qualify as voluptuous AND healthy.
All this being said, it means I am exactly half way to my goal weight. Now there is a good feeling. The first 30 came off relatively easily. When I say easily, it means I didn't give up the things I love to get there; nor did I kill myself with working out constantly. It took four months for the first 30 and if it takes until the end of this year to get rid of the next 30, so be it.0 -
Checking in for yesterday-
calories - Over by 200 which is amazing since I had Mexican TWICE!
Water - OK thanks to restaurant water LOL!
Exercise - 60 minutes of walking and 30 minutes of biking
Proud - that I limited alcohol last night to one beer.
I was on my feet a lot yesterday and fingers and feet swelled up and they hurt and by the time I went to bed my legs were super tender and ached. I caved in and took a water pill. I decided that I'll try going off the water pill when I get to 160 lbs
So... still full of water my weigh in today is up like 8lbs from last week so I'm going to go with a "0" and next week I'll weigh against last weeks number

Good morning ladies!
I took my son to daycare this week for the first time. I hope he is doing alright! I told them to call me if he acts weird or seems uncomfortable. Its so nice to take a break!!!
jess- congrats on week 4!!! You are doing awesome!:flowerforyou:
blue- 65lbs!!!! AMAZING! Keep it up:drinker:
jlb- CONGRATS ON YOUR 206!! You are so close to the 100's!!! Oh and its is not smooth sailing after week 4!! I am still stuck at w5d3
heather- congrats on being halfway to your goal!!!
I decided to see how much Ive lost - On April 4 I will have been doing this for 3 months and I have lost 16.94% or 43lbs!! YAY! I am sooo happy with that and some of my old clothes are starting to fit again. They dont look so hot on me but at least I can get them on now!!!
I worked out at the gym with a friend this morning and I was so scared because I havent done anything since last week and I was able to run 10mins and then do the bike for another 18. I was kind of sore from last night's 30 day shred. I feel great right now!!!
LW- 217.0
CW- 211.8
Loss of 5.2!!!! I have no idea what has prompted these big numbers lately but I am ecstatic to say the least.

Thanks SO much everyone for your support .... it really made me feel good to log on today and read everyone's encouraging comments! I'm feeling better today, it was a huge relief to get that credit line taken care of ... I didn't realize how worried I was about it... I know it will all work out eventually. I gained a pound this week - which wasn't surprising with the bad week I've had ... I was actually pleased it wasn't worse - and I did have a good day yesterday and feel like I am back in control. I'm going on a walk shortly with a friend - so that will be good to get in the exercise and be able to share our stresses. I am so glad it's Friday!

Can someone explain me to me how to post a pic on here in the discussion board? I can't get on photobucket or anything at work so how do I do it from my profile? I think it was Littlespy who knows how to do it!0

Cris: Way to go on your loss this week! Don't fret about w5d3, as that was the one that I was stuck on and it took a few attempts before I was able to move on. I'd better get busy or you'll pass me up and graduate before I do!
Jess: I think littlespy knows everything! Yes, she is the one who has been helping people figure out how to post pics.
lstpaul: Good job on only gaining one pound (naturally it's only water!) during your super stressful week. It will come off before next week's weigh in, I just know it!
Okay, I'm stalking MFP like crazy today. It's super quiet because several people took the day off, the phones aren't ringing much because a lot of our customer companies are closed for Good Friday. One would think I could get a lot accomplished, but I'm lacking motivation to do anything except read message boards on MFP. I'm so naughty! My name is Heather and I'm a MFP addict.0 -
Heather I feel the same way today! LOL everybody thinks banks are closed (Which is okay with me) so I'm just sitting around here playing all morning!
Cris-Don't fret about week 5. It looks like a KILLER...I will be right there with ya girl!! You will get passed it....congrats on the big weight loss this week. That's so awesome
lstpaul-I agree it's probably just water weight! Hang in there. Hopefully things will get better for you going forward.
mstahl-Sorry to hear about your swelling yesteday. Hope the water pill helps relieve some of it!!
blue-Awesome job on the 65 pound mark!! :flowerforyou: You are doing so good!! Keep it up!!
littlespy-206!? I'm in awe!! Great job!0 -

   I ws supposed to be off today but thought I'd come in jsut to play on MFP, hehe ops! I havent updated my charts and stuff since last weekend so I wanted to get all that done! I got nothing done with my son around.
I dont think I'll graduate before you...its taking more than a couple attempts for me to get past day3
Ok girls, I have a huge confession to make...I am a smoker :smokin:
I started smoking when I was 19, quit when I was pregnant, thought I was done for good and nope back to it since about a month after my son was born. Its so awful and I want to quit but I am so scared. I talked to my PCP about getting that pill that helps you quit but I have a lot of emotions about it. I really dont think I can run longer than 10-15 mins without dying and Id really like to be able to do it...I dont think I will until I quit smoking though. I smoke on my way to the gym and after the gym..its so awful Ive been so embarassed to admit this to you guys...so much for a healthy lifestyle huh :frown:0 -

I'm not a smoker but coming from a whole family that does I know how hard it is to quit!! You will get there one day and you will get the 20 minute jog. It will probably just take you a little big longer. I struggeled this morning with my run a little bit. My problem is I get inside my head and I get anxiety really bad. And it hit hard this morning. Stuipd anxiety! :explode:0 -
Jess- thanks for your post! I will quit....its just a matter of when!
As for psyching your self out of the run...yup like Heather and JLB said its just as much mental is physical. I used to spend hours reading motivational quotes on the internet that got me pumped up then I would look at the success stories ...Do what works for your but try pumping yourself up all day for it...worked for me...lol minus that 25 min run0 -
It is mostly mental I have learned. It's crazy! You ladies are really good at pumping me up. That's why I start talking about it the day before and I keep telling myself that I CAN do it and I WILL do it when I'm at the gym and getting myself ready. Maybe I'll try reading the motivation quotes....good idea!! And you are right you will quit. There will be a day when you will wake up and just wanna quit. But it's hard to do until you get to that point. But it'll come eventually.0

Cris -- I'm an ex smoker. Momma has told us she is, too. We're here for you! :flowerforyou:
I smoked from ages 15 'til 23. There were times in high school and college when I would smoke 2 packs a day! :noway: I quit the habit October 14, 2007. I didn't smoke a single cigarette for over a year. But now I actually occasionally smoke socially. If I'm at a bar or a party with friends who smoke, I may bum one. I'm actually okay with that as long as it doesn't happen very often (and it doesn't).I actually have an open pack of cigarettes that has been in my freezer for a few months now and they don't bother me being there (I know you hate me right now, don't you? Sorry, just trying to make a point). And the point is... I personally think that it can be something you enjoy in moderation just like any other unhealthy thing. Or, I guess that would be better phrased as "it's something *I* can enjoy in moderation."
Heather -- I hope I don't come across as a smarty pants. I just like to figure stuff out & share what I learned. Sorry if I seem like a know-it-all. I swear I don't think that way!
Jess - to post pictures... The easiest way is the upload them to an image hosting site like photobucket or imageshack. Those websites will give you something called an image code & it will look something like this
Copy that code
Then paste it where you want the picture to be inyour post
Then change the capital "IMG"s to lower case "img"s and the pic should show up when you post.0 -
Cris: I'm bummed that you were afraid to admit being a smoker to this group, but I'm glad you did. I've never been a smoker, but most of my family has been at some point. My sister still smokes, both before and after her workouts. I honestly have no idea how she can rollerblade several miles right after smoking. She's in the same boat as you; she wants to quit, but not bad enough to actually do it yet. I would think it's like weight loss....it won't happen until you're 100% committed to it and the timeline for that is different for each person. You know the health risks, so I'm sure you'll quit when you're ready!0
-
And Cris, WOW!!! Congratulations on being such a huge loser!
When I'm running & my mind keeps telling me that I "have to quit," I just... kind of start arguing with myself. (I try to keep it all in my head, but I do think I yell at myself outloud sometimes!) I just start with "Oh really? You want to stop, huh? Why is that again? Because you're a pu***?" Then I try to reason with myself -- "Okay, why do you want to quit? Are you out of breath? No. Are your legs hurting? No. Do you feel like you're going to puke? No. THEN WTF IS YOUR PROBLEM?!" And then I can just keep on a'running.
Wow, talk about being embarrassed to admit something... But, hey, whatever works, right?0 -
Littlespy: I definitely don't think you're a know-it-all. I appreciate your information and am the same way when it comes to many, many things. My friends think I'm a smarty pants and wonder how I hold so much knowledge. I think it all comes from a love of learning and passing on what we've learned both from outside sources and from trial and error. We're just super helpful, that's all!0

I love it! I actually bargain with myself. "Okay, you've made it this far, so get to the next tree." Once I hit the next tree, it's "well, you're so close to the next intersection". Sometimes it's "Don't you want to tell the Over 200 gals that you completed the workout?" or "If you get through it, you can have an iced coffee."
It's terrible bribing myself with food, but it works. Of course, I only do that if I know I'll have enough calories for it. So far I've been able to keep my bribing and bargaining in my head...or so I think, but when I have the iPod in, who knows?0 -
HAHA...you girls are cracking me up! I do the same thing with talking to myself!! Except I talk with my hands and that I know I do at the gym...And I think I sometimes I actually move my mouth...people at the gym probably think I'm nuts!0

Okay lets see if this works!! Since I'm bored lets see what 40 pounds looks like...my ticker was rounding up so I officially hit 40 pounds as of this morning...it looks like
My 6 almost 7 year old niece!! She weighs 40 pounds!
OK it didn't work. I don't know how it make it work!0 -

wow girls there are some big time losers again this week. Way to go! I stayed the same this week and with traveling and no exercise I am happy with that. My food portions are becoming easier to estimate. We are on spring break and had a fun morning out. I will catch up reading all the posts later on. Have fabulous day:)

There is an email/im, direct, HTML, or IMG code...it's not that important I'm just playing around0 -
Hmm, I would think the IMG code would be right. I know this is a dumb question, but are you sure you copied all of it? Sometimes I leave off a couple characters by accident.
You can also upload it anywhere else (even MFP) and then right click on it and click "properties" and then copy the URL there
Then, surround it with the [ img] [/img ] things (without those spaces).

I call this picture E-MO... because the dog's name is Mo.. and he looks all emo in the pic. I know I'm a dork.0 -
Cris, I smoked from the time I was 13 or 14 yo until I was 29 yo. I actually smoked my first cigarette at 12 and tried it a couple of times before I actually "started" smoking. If you ever want to talk about it I would be glad to share how I quit. I smoked close to 2 packs a day the last few years before I quit. I understand the feeling of wanting to quit but unable. It is like you become a slave to the cigarette. I would never think less of you because you smoke. I am glad you told us.
My weight has not changed I am still holding on to the weight from last week. I just attempting w2d3 of couch 25k. I did week 2 for the first 15 minutes and had to revert back to week 1 to finish up. I also extended the workout by 5 minutes. My shins are hurting pretty good so I think I will repeat w2 next week.

Okay lets give this a try!!
It worked! This is what 40 pounds looks like! LOL  A 7 year old!0 -
I think it depends on the child, I used my sons pic to show my 40 pounds when I carried him on my back for 10-15 minutes and it reminded me how glad I am that 40 is gone. He only weighs about 37 but close enough to 40. He is only 4 almost 5. Your neice it cute!!!!!!!!!
I am making a pasta dish this evening. I am using whole grain Rotini, tomatoes, small amount of tomatoe sauce, chicken breast, artichoke hearts, black olives, onions, turkey bacon, and garlic. mmmmm so good. Did I mention I am sicilian? Not that this is too authentic. More California style!!! But delish anyways!!!!0 -
LOL yeah she is real petitie for a kid her age. She's so dang skinny! But I picked her up and was carrying her around last week and was thinking to myself "GEEZE!!! This kid weighs a ton!"
That sounds sooo yummy! I might have to steal that recipe and try it out!0 -

She looks like she is not much bigger than my son. We all want our girls to be petite and our boys big. My boy is average size I think. He is skinny but he looks to be taller than your neice!!! She is petite. Anytime you want that recipe I will try to give it to you. I cook for 6 and I rarely follow a recipe I kinda throw things together and that is what I will do tonight. I like to cook!!0 -
Yeah she's tall she's just skinny. She will be taller then me before I know it! You are correct the girls want to be petite and the boys to be big. :happy:0
