    Homophobia.
I hate the term "homophobia" we don't call a racist "blackophobic" do we? Hate of another person is not a phobia, it's hate. No need to give douchebaggery a nice name.

One thing that's really bothering me lately is the president of my honors society... He's a fun guy and everything, but his e-mails are SO full of spelling and grammatical errors. I'm like COME ON. YOU ARE THE PRESIDENT OF AN HONORS SOCIETY. HAVE SOME CLASS. Grr

My biggest peeve at the moment are so-called pro-lifers who want to stop abortions, but yet do not support proper sex ed, access to birth control, nor programs that would help impoverished families. It just tells me that it's not about "saving babies" to them. It's about controlling the sex lives and live in general, of women. They stop giving a damn once the umbilical cord is severed. These are the same people who think women who got raped deserved it because they DARE to enjoy non-procreative sex, and the same people who want women to be forced to carry fatally ill fetuses to term, only to watch them die or have them die during birth, and the same people who push adoption, while ignoring the fact that the adoption system is overwhelmed as is, and ignoring the fact that some women may be hurt far more by adoption than abortion. In other words, people who think women are too stupid to make their own choices regarding their fertility......

The implication of that word is that people who hate homosexuality are homosexual, themselves. The expression of hatred for gays and lesbians is actually a desperate attempt to cover up their own desires, of which they are terrified.

While clearly not true across the board, there was a study that did find that the more uncomfortable a person is with homosexuals, the more likely they are to be turned on by gay porn of their own gender. And, anecdotally, it does always seem to be the most vehemently and outspokenly anti-gay politicians spearheading anti-gay legislation who end up busted in bathroom stalls.

Oh, one I forgot, when people have no respect for police and firefighters. My dad is a firefighter/paramedic, and people have no clue how hard he works. He has told such stories of jerk-offs who do the stupidest s*** like saying that firefighters don't work hard because they get to sleep on the job... Um yeah... Because they work 24-hour shifts. And the people who call the ambulance for non-emergencies -- UGH! Also there are the people who don't pull over for the trucks and then complain about the response time being so long.

In addition, I once heard someone say (this was during a missing person investigation) that police shouldn't be asking people for information because "it's their job to figure it out; that's what we hire them for." :explode: HOW IN THE HECK ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO FIGURE IT OUT WITHOUT HELP?

I know this sounds annoying and pedantic, but the term is used to connote FEAR of homosexuality. Phobia is fear, so in a sense, when one is homophobic, they are fearful of any and all homosexuals. This doesn't necessarily mean they hate them, they just fear them. I tend to believe that people who are homophobic are that way because they somehow feel their own sexuality is at risk of being questioned or attacked. Or perhaps they are afraid the homosexual man or woman will hit on them.

One who does not approve or accept a homosexual lifestyle is not necessarily homophobic. And one who fears homosexuals is not necessarily hateful of them.

I am fearful of birds flying in my face, but I don't hate birds.

    If that makes sense.

    People who vote for Obama.

People who make less than $250K a year, yet still vote for the Republican party despite there being no logical benefit to it.

Also, Americans who have no functional understanding of the Establishment Clause.

One of the things that really irritates me are motorists who blow their horns at learner drivers at intersections or traffic lights while they're having driving lessons. Like they weren't once in that same situation themselves. But then I suppose maybe they started driving the moment they came out of their mother's womb and therefore didn't need driving lessons like the rest of us mortals!

    warning labels
If you aren't smart enough to realize you shouldn't hold the chainsaw by the sharp end when starting it, that preperation H is not to be taken orally, that electrical devices don't belong in water or that you shouldn't stick your hand under a running lawn mower, you're taking up oxygen better used for other purposes.

Ha ha this is true. I once read a warning label for a blow dryer that red "do not operate while sleeping". I worry for the individual who needed THAT warning. Lol.

Dr Oz. the fact that Oprah has been on television for 20 years. Ricky Lake having a talk show again. Survivor being in season what ever. The Hangover II. Hell, most movies these days. Jurassic Park re-release now in 3D? Really?
  • The comments on news websites. People write the most hateful, stupid, half-informed garbage there, especially on stories about politics. It really does make me lose faith in humanity.
