Sure, stretch the Hobbit into 8 different films. We all love sitting in theaters for 3 hours per movie.

I avoid topics of politics and religion like the plague, but I can "go off" on simpler things like:

    -TRAFFIC!!! (ie: stupid drivers)

-The fact that people don't know the difference between "have" and "of"

    -Clothing sizing

-The general public's lack of consideration and respect for others.

I'm sure there are many more. I'm usually pretty quiet and polite, but "don't get me started", especially after a couple glasses of wine.

I'll agree on gun laws, though I'm Canadian so there's precious little of that kind of vitriol in the circles I travel in.

Lately, it's been the f word - feminism. I used to try to get into those kind of discussions but lately they just make me depressed so for the majority of them I try to smile politely, shake my head and walk away. *try* to, I say ;)

-People who say they've never listened to The Beatles.

Like what? What dimension are you living in??

-If someone asks me if I've read '50 Shades of Grey'

Walmart.....I am getting a second one in my small town of 50k people (it's actually a neighborhood Walmart grocery store) and I freaking hate them....I refuse to shop there. I am so scared this POS store will put my beloved grocery store down the street from my house out of business. City planning in my town sucks!!!

Ugh. I forgot about this. I just stay away from Walmart in all conversations. Angers up the blood.

    I have quite a few.

    1. Religion. Mainly disrespecting religion. I don't care if people agree with me, I do care if they disrespect my beliefs. There's a fine line between disagreeance and disrespect and most people seem oblivious to the difference.

    2. Fad Diets. Body by Vi. That silly hormone injection diet people were using. Stuff of that nature. I get really heated.

    3. Music. This is more 'gets me going' in a good way. I can go on and on and on and on about music.

    4. Cruelty. I hate cruelty in all its forms.

    5. Racism.

    6. I also get heated when people start judging other cultures as inferior. That one really pisses me off.

    ... I could keep going but I won't.

If I hear my children (or even various adults) say anything that alludes to the fact that something is NOT FAIR. . .I come unglued. I must've had an issue with that as a kid because one of the few things I can recall my mom searing into my brain was the mantra; "LIFE'S NOT FAIR. . .GET USED TO IT!" My kids know that one by heart now, too.

Customer Service...I forgot that one. I feel like I am a very nice person; probably too nice. When I patronize an establishment, it'd be nice to have the person on the other side of the phone/counter/etc to be just as nice. I understand that we're all human, and have our bad days...but if I'm friendly, why can't they be as well

Yeah I agree with the ones you mentioned too. Ugh I had to stop my mom before she even started with me about gun control. I simply said, I'm way too tired and bored to talk about that. That joint hit full capacity very shortly after all the media coverage (and I don't even have cable...).
