Oh the measurement challenge... I am going to postpone mine. I don't have a tape measure, but we did get our measurements taken at the start of my BL program on 4/6, and they'll be doing it again at the end in 2 weeks, so I'll have some to update then! I don't even know what my original measurements were... if I remember correctly, they were for waist, hips, and each thigh and each upper arm, but I don't remember what the numbers were.

Chris - I'm so ashamed of this idea that I was going send it to you in a PM... the night before weigh in you might want to drink a bottle of Magnesium Citrate (over the counter and cheap) to uhm... move things along in your bowel. It is a pretty safe way to make sure you aren't full of "what not". I had to drink 8 bottles in the 18 hours preceding surgery so one bottle is pretty moderate! Also try not to eat a lot the day of your weigh in - water is fine up to an hour or two before hand because your kidney's will take care of it - but foods (especially fiber) will hold heavy water like a sponge in your intestines and just add pounds to your weight.

Plus with all the excitement over "cleansing" diets - one little laxative couldn't hurt

(honest - I don't have an eating disorder - but I do like to win  )

   Mstahl- I love you! I wont lie...I thought about the laxative thing, I like to win too:laugh:

My plan for the actual day of the weigh in is to go in the morning. They have a weigh in from 9am-11am and one from 5-7pm. Normally I go to the night one and my weight is usually up a lb or two from food intake and water...so I figure I will go in at 9am for the final weigh in with nothing in my belly- no water, no food, and I of course will not be brushing my teeth

I may "cleanse" myself that Sunday...kind of scared to do it on the monday before ...who knows haha

    thanks for the great tips!!!

My measurements haven't budged. My fancy scale shows I've gone down some in % body fat but other than that the last couple of months have been a wash.

Irandamay- I LOVE your profile picture! I keep meaning to say something!

Momma: Does this fine jeweler, Sara, take orders? She's one talented lady from what I can see!

So I had a "win" moment today. I was trying to decide what to have for lunch and planned on going to McDonalds. Well, the lights at work went out right when I was about go when the lightbulb above my head popped on and I thought it would be better to get a protein shake from Daily Shake (Herbalife Distributor). With the shake only being 300 calories, I have more calories for dinner and beers tonight. Woo hoo!

Cris: How soon can you be in Minnesota? We're meeting at 8pm for karaoke and you're more than welcome to join us!

POS & LilDeb- Hooray for you both losing 4lbs:flowerforyou:
Mstahl- Your fajitas sound yummy :) congrats on seeing a loss this week :drinker:
Awestfall-First is teens then you'll fly past those single digits into Onederland!! You've got this!
Lilspy-I have a great feeling next week you'll be weighing in with a 1??!!
    Momma-You have a fabulous private jeweler :)

I'm finally down something worth being happy about this week :) And I've finally hit 20lbs lost!! Seeing that on my little ticker was fantastic:love:

Yesterday was a bad day. My grandfather has been pretty sick lately. He's an alcoholic and a chain smoker so that doesn't help much, he's also diabetic. He'd been falling down a lot and not eating much, sleeping all the time. My grandmother finally got him into the doctors the beginning of this week and they sent him to the hospital to run a bunch of tests. Yesterday I was to have my post partum check up, as well as my little ones first shots for her 2 month appointment. They called my grandparents to let them know that he needed to come in that morning. My grandmother was our ride because I don't drive. The results weren't good. Wednesday night my grandmother caught him just before he slipped into a diabetic coma. At the doctors he got more details into him needing to stay at the hospital for 48 hours for more testing. We had our appointments cancelled because getting him to the hospital was important. Turns out his liver and kidneys have shut down due to what they are saying was a drug reaction. At this point they don't know how extensive the damage is or even if they'll be able to save the organs. When they admitted him yesterday his sugars were at a 1:noway: I was pretty miffed because my grandmother wouldn't take me and the girls home, so we had to wait 3 hours in the ER waiting room-I got chastised by a nurse because I "shouldn't be visiting the hospital with such a young baby, people in there are very sick" I wanted to hit her. I was terrified my little one was going to catch something, especially since she's not been vaccinated against anything. I'm not sure what's going to happen with my Grandpa...He's been a father figure to me my whole life. I'm just hoping he pulls through this cause my world will come crashing down if he doesn't.

Momma - that's so cute, I love kid made things !!!
Jesyka - so sorry about your grandpa I hope he get out of the hospital soon

EVERYONE - Amazing results this week, could this be the first week that every single one of us sees a loss????

Cris - I too am VERY competitive so I would take a page from wrestlers when they are trying to make weight.
So, stop drinking all liquids 20 hours before weigh in, the whole day before eat only small meals of food that don't weigh much, that are not dense, low fiber cereal, certain fruits and vegetables, the calories don't really matter as much as the actual weight of the food. Then if you can stand it, try to sweat your butt off in a sauna or steam room. One last thing - take a big poo!!!!!
If you do anything like this please rehydrate right after and eat several small meals during the day after weigh in to get you back to normal.
    Best of luck!!!!!

Thanks ladies :flowerforyou: You girls are great. Well I got a quick update tonight. Then news was fantastic. Seems his issues were caused by the fact that *drum roll please* He is no longer diabetic!!:noway: :drinker: All the issues he was having were caused by the fact that he was on sugar pills not needing them, Seems he lost enough weight that it's fixed the sugar issue and gotten rid of the diabetes. He's also off of his blood pressure meds now !! They say his kidney is already on the mend and his appetite and sense of humor are back full force  I'm so unbelievably happy!!

Jessyka, I was on a roller coaster ride here. I was so worried about your grandfather, mad at the nurse and wanted to slap her then the great news. Now I am thrilled for you!!! I am still a bit mad at the nurse though. You do not need that when you are in a crisis. Not very understanding. I brought my newborn 4 weeks old to church camp once and some lady got onto me (a little bit) When I say church camp it is a dorm room with electricity and central heat and air. I simply figured she could choose not to bring her baby and butt out about what I do with mine. Besides so far they have all survived and one of them is even a great bracelet maker.   . Besides the fact the only people at camp were my family!!!

I will let Sara know that everyone appreciated her jewelery.

Momma and Jesyka - My mom insisted we stop at a restaurant on the way home from the hospital with my little sister. Mom had to give up salt and caffeine during the pregnancy and since they didn't give her any in the hospital she was desperate LOL! She ordered a sandwich with potato chips and a coke while we sat horror struck beside her, convinced our dear baby sister would drop dead of germs at any moment! Somehow Caroline survived such cruel treatment

My oldest sister took her firstborn on a camping trip in a tent when Jane was less than a month old. I'm not sure if there was a good reason for this but again - Jane has somehow survived and is a pretty healthy college student today.

My grandma said that a well fed, warm, dry baby can survive most situations better than it's exhausted, stressed out, sleep deprived mother. She had seven kids - all delivered at home, with out running water. YIKES!

    Checking in for today:
Calories - Under by about 200 but as I was over yesterday I'm ok with that!
Water - a little under :ohwell:
Exercise - I walked to the restaurant at lunch! Better than nothing?

Proud - I really wanted to go out for dinner tonight. I've eaten at least one meal out every single day this week so there is no reason why I felt the need to have another meal out but I really really wanted to LOL! Instead I ate an apple and some strawberries for dinner!

Eating has been my big problem the past few weeks... I'm just not acting like "today" matters because I can be good "tomorrow". I have to start making sure every bite is counting NOW. ARGH! How many times do I have to re-learn the same lesson?

Oh I'm struggling with my calories today. In the opposite way that I normally struggle! I'm at a net of like 50 calories (my body seems to prefer keep my net over 1000 these days). :noway: And I'm soooooo not hungry even now. I have chili in the slow cooker that was supposed to be dinner. And then 2 beers (yep, empty cals) were supposed to be my dessert.

I spent an hour running and biking and burned 851 calories which was awesome but unplanned. After that I knew I was going to have to try to squeeze more calories in my day so I made a smoothie with yogurt and frozen fruit and protein powder. It was so filling I can't even think about eating dinner even now at 9pm. I've only eaten about 900 calories so far. I considered just getting a giant candy bar  but I know that wouldn't really help the whole "your body needs nutrients" thing. :ohwell:
Looks like I may be peanut buttering it up later.

cris - I want you to know that I have also used the mag citrate (I bought mine at Walgreens - bottom shelf because it used to be a glass bottle, not sure if it is anymore LOL) and I want to warn you: I HAD DIARRHEA FOR 24 HOURS STRAIGHT! Now, that may be because I am full of crap, which I usually am, but I am serious - like even after THE "solids" left, I was eliminating water through my *kitten*! I just want you to know that every *body* responds differently, so yeah, if you go that route, take it two days ahead of time! I am not proposing you go that route, btw!
