BlueNote - love the picture you're using of the Arch! Beautiful! Congratulations on climbing up the ladder! It's those kinds of victories that really mean so much! I was able to out walk my dad at the farm this spring- he's 73 so that should be easy but I've never been able to keep up with him before. I try to remind myself of that when I'm down. You have come so far!!! I still think of how it must have felt to snap that seat belt for the first time in forever... :flowerforyou: 300s here you come!

lildebbie- can you walk to your Gym? I used to walk a couple miles to a curves and it was great! I hated walking home but I think it helped me keep from getting as sore after a hard workout. Our gym is about 3 or 4 miles but it's all back roads that don't have decent shoulders :grumble:

I weighed myself this morning and I'm down a couple pounds. Going with my theory that all gains are water and all losses are REAL I've updated my ticker! I really really really want to be at 170 by the end of the month! 169 and change is where I move into the "overweight" BMI - boy would that be nice! My fancy scale is still telling me that I'm 47% fat. Since most of the big rolls are gone I'm starting to think I must have a lot of fat where my brain should be :ohwell: That or I'm really well marbled like a good beef cow

George isn't doing well - still wants to join Millie and doesn't want to go back to his house. He's staying with Ken's brother over night and Ken takes him during the day. Meghan gets here in a month and his doctor recommends getting him involved in a project or two so I'm plotting out a way to get my chickens! I've been wanting a chicken coop forever, but since I work long hours Ken would have to take care of them and he's been "reluctant" to say the least. Meghan really wants chickens and ducks (OK she probably just wants chicks and ducklings but that's close enough) and George used to have all sorts of poultry from laying hens to peacocks! I found plans for a small chicken coop online and I think I have Ken convinced that he, George and Meghan can make a project out of this!

I may have fresh, organic, free range chicken eggs by this fall! WHOOT!!! (next up- a dairy goat!:noway: )

Mstahl - Sorry about George and how he misses Millie...

Its 3.5 miles, it is across the highway though so don't think that would work

I am very proud of myself, even though i am not feleing the greatest i rode a bike for 1 mile (5 minute) and walked 1 mile (20 minutes)..per HRM burned 222 calories.

question for those that have a HRM, do you keep it on during any like strength training?? like machines and stuff, i did another 15 minutes of the machines but i turned it off

Pos_me-- I'm so proud of you! You're doing so awesome and you're not letting anything get in the way of your goals!

Bluenote -- Congrats on conquering that ladder! I'm always terrified of ladders and any other thing I know has a pretty low weight limit. :ohwell:

mstahl -- Woohoo on the loss! We really want a chicken coop, too! But, alas, no farm animals allowed within city limits. We have 4 dogs too many already (shhhhhhhhh) so I don't want to push animal services with chickens. I can't wait to move to the mountain boonies some year soon!

Lildeb - congrats on joining a gym! I'm going to join Planet Fitness because one is opening in my city. It's not very conveniently located for me but it's so much cheaper than the other gyms (including the Y) around here that it's still worth it.

Last night I was rocking in one of my porch rockers & it was creaking a little. I commented to my bf that even if it came crashing down right now, I feel like I've gotten my $12.50 out of it (have I mentioned I'm cheap? Yep, I swindled 2 solid wood porch rocking chairs for $25 last year.). My bf said "Wanna trade?" I almost did & then thought about it & said "But... that wouldn't help -- I weigh LESS than you!" AND I DO!!! We've been going back and forth for the last 5 pounds but I've been a few ounces under him for a few days now (too bad he's 7-8" taller than I am...). I can tell he's losing weight again. It's melting off his face like butter. And OMG! Last night I had a shot of irish whiskey and a beer and I was pretty tipsy (LIGHTweight!) and I started hitting on him. :blushing:   He said something about me having "beer goggles" on but he sure was grinning from ear to ear while he said it.

My weight still started with a 1 today! 199.2! I don't know what's going on but I LIKE it! The way Pos_me and I both broke our stalls with such a vengeance, it almost makes me wonder if it has something to do with the hardcore interval/sprint training we've both been working on.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Momma's!!! You are all GREAT Moms and deserve the best!!   :flowerforyou:

Sorry for being MIA for a few days. I haven't had much time to get on the computer. I tried keeping up with the posts when I could but when I logged in this morning I had FIVE pages to read though!! It was a lot to read but I loved it all. I am so glad that everyone is having a great weekend.

Alright so from Friday for weigh in. I lost a big goose egg - 0 lbs. :frown: But I hadn't been eating well all week. Sorry to break the weight loss week for everyone but I will hopefully be back to the weight loss board next Friday. I started getting out of my funk towards the end of the week which is probably the reason why I didn't lose any because I was up a pound before then. So at least I lost that. This morning I weighed I am down 1 pound so I am starting on the losing path again.

So let's see what I remember......

LitSpy - CONGRATS on Onederland!!!! That is amazing!!!

Cris - You will be there before you know it. Fingers are crossed for next week for you!!

Bluenote - OMG on the 5.5 lbs!! That is awesome! And congrats on being able to get up that ladder with both legs! You will be in the 300's sooooo soon, I know it!!

I know there was sooo much more but I am having a brain fart and can't remember everything! Everyone sounded like they had their ups and downs but everyone seems to be back on the ups!! Hope everyone has a great Sunday and I will be back to daily posts tomorrow I am sure. Maybe some more for today!

Last note - sent the husband to the store to get a measuring tape. So I will finally get to measure to start watching how much I lose! Just a week late but better than never!

Happy Mothers Day to all you fabulous mothers!! Hope everybody is having a happy Sunday!

I have missed you all so much! I wasn't able to log on yesterday. We were soooooo busy! My cousin couldn't get outta Denver so I had to pick her up on the way to the hotel Saturday. Spent the afternoon with her and my other cousin(her sister) out meeting my cousin Hollys inlaws and new family. Then we all conviened to our room for some pre wedding beverages and to get ready. My cousin Becca hasn't seen me in 4 years and told me I looked absoultely fantastic! We spent the night dancing and singing and drinking. Was an absoulte blast! becca and I managed to sneak away to kmart to buy stuff to trash I mean decorate the honeymoon suite. They loved it! I was shocked! My night ended falling asleep on the bathroom floor. We had a room full of people and I guess I was tired! lol that's my drunk story for the weekend. Everyone got a kick out of it!

Think I did well on eating. Not well on water! I can't wait to get home and back on track and my routine. I have been drinking diet sodas and light coffee. Keeping my portions small. I ran around the hotel a lot yesterday!! And about a dozen trips up and down the stairs!

We are heading home today. We took a tour of Lambeau Field this morning. I refused to chant go pack go LOL
we are dragging the trip out over the coarse of two days to get home. My future bro in law can't handle being in the car very long. And he wants to stop in Branson. Where you at bluenote?!

Glad to see everybody is doing well! Miss you ladies!

Thank you all for your input on the situation with my friend's wedding. Yes, it is probably the ex's wife that doesn't want me there but still, it comes down to the fact that my friend should have been honest with me and NOT sent the "Save the Date" card.

Bluenote: I did consider being sarcastic about things but I've decided to be the bigger person. Next time she starts talking about wedding plans to me, I'm going to mention how I felt about her not being honest about me not being invited. Knowing me, I'll probably still get her a card and/or gift for her wedding. Congrats on your climbing to the sound booth with both knees; I love that the crew applauded because they knew what an accomplishment it was for you!

lildebbie: Congrats on the gym membership!

Jess: Good job on not chanting "Go Pack Go"! Being from Minnesota, I cannot root for the Packers! Then again, I don't really root for the Vikings, either because they're such a terrible team. Let me know how Branson is because if my family ends up being annoying this weekend, my sister and I might take a side trip there. We might be the villians of the weekend since we didn't want our aunt to ride for 8 hours in the car with us because she's crabby and we wanted to have a fun trip.

Well, I'm off to stock up on lunches for the week. Yay! Hope you're all having a great day.

Littlespy - Congrats on still being in onderland... Funny about you and bf cause that how me and hubby are...we go back and froth weighing right about the same..i think right now i am 1 lb down on him..but he has less to loose than i do i think, he is like 6'3 and probably only has about 60lbs to go till he is right where he wants to be...well far as me who knows but probably more than 60.

Had a good mother days. We went to my moms for mothers day , my moms bday and her husbands bday. We got boston market so not the worse food but probably had a little more mac n cheese than i should...but had the turkey (and no meatloaf) so that was a pretty good choice, and only a few bites of the ice cream cake.

We spend lots of $$ on the gym stuff i told hubby i didn't want anything for mother's day but him and our daughter went and got me a few small things..i love them !!! My daugther got me these towel things for my head, like you wrap your hair in, i always wrap it in a towel...hubby said she picked them out all of them selfs. I got a "UT" cup...( i am a huge univ of Texas Fan) i have been wanting , it is a 24 oz insultated cup...so i have no excuse now to drink my water huh

Also i got a salad spinner , i have been wanting one..i have been eating salad for lunch and thought it was cool to have  All in all i had a great mothers day, if didn't feel lousy it would of been even better.!!!

Girls need to go to baths and bed !!!

Littlespy - Wow, congrats on breaking 200! You are doing great.

Cris - You're almost there too!

lildebbie - Woo, yay for the gym. My gym is kinda expensive but it's worth it to me. I wish I could say it had been worth it to me the entire time I've been a member, but better late than never, right?

Heather - Wow, that is so rude of your friend! I would probably confront her about it.

bluenote - Amazing loss this week! And is your new profile pic from the Gateway Arch? My BF (well he might as well be my hubby, we've been together/living together for over 12 years) and I went on a cross country road trip last June from NH to CA and back and we passed through St. Louis on the way to the Grand Canyon and went to the top of the Arch!

mstahl - Chickens! Cool! We live in a townhouse so we can't have any chickens here, although at my BL nutrition class, the trainer was telling us they have farms near here where you can buy a chicken (or maybe it's rent) but you keep it at the farm and they feed it and take care of it, and you can go pick up any eggs that it lays.

Happy Belated Mother's Day to all the mothers.

I did pretty well eating, although I was still over my non-exercise calories (I don't like to eat the exercise ones). We went out with my SO's parents for dinner to a local seafood restaurant. It was so hard being there, I love fried clam strips and onion rings and this place makes great fried food. I was good, though, and ordered broiled salmon, baked potato, and did eat my cole slaw at least. I am making steak for dinner tonight, though... that is 3 days in a row that we've had fish! I made baked haddock on Friday with a panko/parmesan cheese/old bay spices/pepper coating, and then on Saturday I made Alton Brown's ceviche style mahi-mahi on the grill.

    Checkin 4/9:
Calories - 141 over regular (715 exercise left)
    Water - bad
    Exercise - 45 min elliptical
Proud - of how well I did not ordering delicious fried clams and onion rings!

I was looking on the internet getting some chicken pod-casts (yes - I do in fact over research stuff!) and found out that lots of cities that don't allow farm animals allow sitting hens. Even NYC allows hens! Usually there is a limit of two or three hens and no roosters.

I did really well yesterday but when I logged everything in I'm still over by a few hundred. LilDebbie - just think over far over we would have been if we hadn't been TRYING to be good!!!

    Calories- over
    Water - under
    Exercise- none

Proud - I made really good choices, ate small portions and ate good foods! That sliver of cheese cake must have calcium right?

    Good morning, ladies:

I went over on calories yesterday, but at least I got a decent amount of fruit in with breakfast and was on the go most of the day, so I can't feel terrible about it. I forgot to weigh myself this morning, so I'm not sure if or how badly the choices affected me. I did go grocery shopping yesterday and loaded up on good things to eat...apples, grapes, applesauce, yogurt, Kashi granola, carrots, etc. Lots of fruits and veggies to try to get the weight moving down again. I also planned out dinner for the next two nights for my boyfriend and I, so hopefully we won't eat out and I picked up all the goodies for a salad so I can take that to work with me to eat between work and volunteering. I'm trying to behave this week, especially since I'll be on the road and out of town all weekend!

It sounds to me like chickens are the "in" thing right now! My friend just bought 27 chicks, of which 10 will be fryers and the rest will be layers. Once they start laying eggs, my boyfriend and I will be able to get eggs from her if we'd like. It's so nice to have options!

Hope you are all having a good day!

Ugh, I fell really behind on posts this weekend, and I havent logged anything since Saturday's lunch. I knew I was going to eat a lot this weekend. It was my plan. What upsets me is that I went way overboard. It's one thing to say "Hey I am going to eat this food that I wouldnt normally allow myself to eat" its a different thing to not only eat the food you dont normally allow yourself to eat, but to also wayyy over eat it! Instead of a slice or two of pizza I ate damn near the entire pizza, I snacked way too much, ate between meals, stuffed myself, and overall just made bad bad chocies. ***SIGH** I have a long way to go before I really learn how to control myself and eat proper portions even when taking the day off.

Anyway, like I said I am not too upset since having 2 high cals (I was good friday!) days was my plan. Today I weighed in at 205lbs. I wonder how long it will take me to drop those 3lbs I gained in 2 days. I am chigging away at my water right now. Regardless, the plan is now to drop my cal intake to 1200 from today until my final weigh in, and only eat excercise cals if my body is asking for it or if I end up with a negative net calories consumed. Wishe me luck! I need to drop 6lbs this week! (3 of it is water weight though so its manageable)

Mother's Day was great- Bobby got me diamon heart shaped earrings and they are so cute! He also did all the cleaning and took care of the baby and let me relax. Had a nice lunch with my family etc, etc. Good day overall!

Lilspy- CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I read your post last night through my phone and I literally jumped up and down screaming "SHE DID IT, SHE DID IT!" I am so proud of you! :flowerforyou:

Heather- your friend doesnt sound very nice. I would call her out on it too, but thats just me. Im sorry people are so petty

Lildeb- Congrats on joining the gym, maybe now you can try the c25k on the treadmill? Id do week 1 for a while as your body adjusts , Happy belated Anniversary!

Blue0 OMG I SEE A 8-0 in your future! Great job on the steps too, I got chills thinking about the crew clapping thats so great that you have their support!

Pos me- I still eat until I am near puking...when will I learn  :brokenheart:

    Have a great day everyone

Good Morning Ladies!! Hope all the Moms had a great Mother's Day!! :flowerforyou:

    Check in for 5/9:
    Calories - Over
    Water - Lots
Exercise - None (Worked on the yard ALL day Saturday)
Proud - That I finally threw away the cupcakes that I had left over. I kept wanting to eat them so I threw them away instead.

Well, today starts a new week. I am hoping to stay on track and start exercising hard core. I finally got copies of the Taebo DVDs that I have been wanting. I LOVED doing them when they first came out so I hope I will enjoy them this time around too (Even though I am much heavier than I was when I first did them.) I also finally took my measurements from last weeks challenge and they were better than I thought but since I haven't ever taken them before I didn't know what to expect. Maybe in a month I will be able to measure again and see a difference!

Irandamay - Great job on staying away from the fried foods. If I could only fight that with sweets. I have a HUGE sweet tooth!

mstahl - Sure that cheesecake had some calcium in it. You deserved a little treat!

Hope everyone has a great Monday and I will "stalk" to you all later!!

Good morning! Sounds like a few of us had a lot of fun this weekend with the calories. Raise your hand if you ate 1,000 calories in sushi yesterday? Anyone....oh, just me? Yes. Definitely me. While there are worse things (higher fat) to go all in for a 1,000 meal, whoo, I was definitely feeling it. It all happened because we went out to lunch after church with some friends. We had told them about an all-you-can-eat (yes, the most wonderful/scary words ever) sushi restaurant near them and we all decided to go. I hadn't realized how much I MISSED sushi. So tasty. It was fairly limited in terms of what we could get (basic rolls and nigiri), but they only had white rice so I couldn't even try and be healthier with brown (though I'm not sure that I would have asked for brown even if it was an option...). Anyway, 90 minutes and 1,000 calories later, we walked out of there feeling super full. The upside is I drank about 7 cups of water at the meal (not sure how that didn't slow down my eating more...oh well) and we walked a portion of the way home (about 1.5 miles).

I have my weigh in today and I'm hoping for maintainence, but expecting a gain. I hardly worked out last week (only 3 days - 2 of them walking only, 1 at the gym) and pretty much splurged each day at dinner. We were on a BBQ chicken kick this week (only legs/thighs), so that definitely upped the calories at dinner time.

However, this is a new week. I'm headed back to St. Louis on Wednesday night and will see my family for the first time since I started MFP. I know they are super proud of me and will support me in terms of food choices and exercise. I'm actually looking forward to going to the high school track and run/walking some laps. I started this morning out well with a trip to the gym. I haven't been to the gym in the morning before work in at least 3 weeks. It's a good start to a new week! I'll be back later today I'm sure, and again tonight after my weigh-in.

Thanks for letting me get all that off my mind. I hope all the mommies had a fantastic Mother's Day!!

Whew, I've managed to keep my weight starting with a 1 throughout the weekend (when I tend to slack) so I'm happy about that. Now to get much much farther under.
I've been thinking about my ultimate goal and I know I changed it to 160 but now I'm thinking I'm going to go lower than that. I'm going to wait until I'm closer to re-evaluate.

I've always been under the assumption (delusion) that I have large bones & a large frame.... Now, I'm not so sure I do. When I wrap my fingers around my wrist, they barely barely touch. They didn't touch at all until recently (I've lost fat from my wrists? Gross). But it occurred to me that I have very small hands. I know I have very muscular legs and I think that's what keeps me in a smaller dress size than most women my weight/height, but I don't think my bones or frame have anything to do with it. Just muscular legs & a good proportional distribution of weight. I told my mom that yesterday & she said "Oh, no, I don't think you have a large frame. When you were born, you were the daintiest little baby I've ever seen!" (she's an RN...). So, joke is on me -- no large frame, I was just that fat. Anyway the more I look at my body now, the more I think 140 may actually be a realistic (very very ultimate) goal. I'll keep shooting for 160 though. Who knows what's going to happen between now and then, especially since the last 10 pounds dropped me an entire dress size.

I'm off today since it's a State holiday & my bf and I are going to the zoo. WOOT! Lot and lots of walking because we plan to go through the entire zoo & botanical gardens. That is, if it he ever gets out of the shower. :grumble:

I only do strength training once a week- Bodypump class. Once I get closer to my ideal weight I will do more but for the time being I prefer to do cardio since it helps me with the weight loss.

We didnt get to the grocery store either this weekend and we have NOTHING to eat. I guess I'll go today after the gym. Monday's excercise menu says-" Week 7 day 2 of c25k (25min run)" and 10 min bike ride

I think I am going to start writing down my progress (mileage) on the treadmill and bike. I dont know how far I usually go in a certain time period and I'd like to know so that I can eventually improve on it

LittleSpy - I had to move my goal weight lower after having my body mass reviewed by a physiologist. My bones are very small. I'm about 5'3" and at 175 I'm showing 47% body fat! My goal weight is now 112 which seems as impossible as can be but I'll just keep plugging away at it and see how we do! I'll be happy if I can get under 135 and be in shape!

I'm wearing a pair of size 12 slacks today. They fit pretty snug, but they look Ok and I've gotten a LOT of complements because I think these really show the weight I've lost. I'm also wearing a black top which probably helps! I can't get anyone to take a lunch time walk with me so I'm going to go on my own!

    Stalk ya later!

LIttlespy - Have fun at the zoo!!! sounds like fun. Funny about your realization that you are not larged boned.

I wish i could say that I am not large boned but i don't think that even if lost 130 + lbs i would still be large boned. ...I don't think i can fudge wearing size 11 (yes that is 11 )SHOES..i mean they may be a little fat and may if i lost everything could wear a 10 1/2 but loosing fat aint' going to affect my bones   I got big feet and big hands.. funny my sister is the opposite she has the tinest frame..her foot size is like almost 1/2 of mine...

i am sure my muscles are soo soar cause i probably haven't used these muscles in like 2 - 3 years hahahaha...I am surely not doing it every day.

hlb- again, congrats on getting under 200! But please dont leave us, we need your motivation here!

As for the *ultimate* goal. My fiance seems to think that once I hit my goal of 150 I wont want to stop and Ill go until like 140. I am not quite so sure. I told him that for the time being 150 will be my goal since its always been my weight target and I have never achieved it. If at that point I think I can and should go lower I will re-evalutate like you said. I also tell people I have a large frame, not sure how true it is either though. I do have big feet and big hands so maybe its not a complete lie. I cant even imagine being at 150....wonder what I'll look like....it seems so far away :grumble:

I went back and tried to log everything I ate on Saturday and Sunday (to the best of my knowledge) and here is the ugly truth::

    Saturday - 2798 calories
    Sunday- 3035 calories

It could be a an over or under estimate ...who knows. All I know is that I HAVE to stick to my plan now...

mstahl - Congrats on the size 12 pants and all of the compliments!! I am sure that you look gorgeous!! Enjoy your walk!

lilspy & Cris - Good Luck with the 150s goal weights!! I know you ladies can do it!! My goal weight is 180, I don't even think I have ever been 150. I think sometimes I jumped from 90 lbs to 160lbs. LOL! I know that is not how it really happened but sure did seem like it.

lildebbie - I so know how your legs feel!! Today my legs are killing me after yard work all day Saturday! I have learned that I have more muscles than I thought I had. I went for a walk on break and it about killed my legs. Hopefully after a few more days they will start to get use to it! Hope you have a good workout at the gym at lunch!

I've been gone since last Thursday again ... it is so hard for me to spend time on the computer over the weekends! I tried to catch up on all the posts but had to give up because I need to get back to work. So I'm only commenting on a few:

momma2four: love your bracelet! I have a similar one from a similar special designer from a couple of years ago- it is one of my most prized possessions.
lilspy: congrat on being in th 100's!
jessyka: I was glad to hear your grandpa is doing better.

    checking in for the weekend:
calories: didn't track but I think did pretty well
exercise: not as good as usual ... skipped Friday and Sunday and opted to clean my office instead - which means now my family room and dining room are full of boxes from the office to go through ... and I mean big boxes ... about 16 of them! My office looks better though - until I end up bringing most of those boxes back in because I won't have time to finish going through them before I have to pick up! I did my usual step class on Saturday though, but skipped body pump ... will need to find a way to get to body pump before next Saturday or it will be like starting over!
    water: not the best
proud: that I didn't buy the chips and dip that were calling me at the store on Friday and again on Saturday!

My son was a little sweety yesterday for Mother's Day. He was planning a secret all week - he even made me practice running because he said I would need to run to do my surprise ... it turns out he did a treasure hunt for me with clues - but 9-yr old clues aren't really very easy to figure out - so he had to lead the way most of the time. It was very cute, and at the end I had a gift bag with a home-made card, an oragami hat, and a fuze-bead heart ... perfect! My 16-yr old made me french toast (that was supposed to be in bed ... but it took too long because the bread was moldy and she had to run to the store and start over ... so I got up after an hour of reading a book in bed and getting uncomfortable)... but I was still in my jammies - so that counts! Hubby got me new workout shoes - perfect!

Congrats to everyone who had a good week last week! I stayed the same ... but I was ok with that because I didn't gain back the pound I lost the week before ... I'm hoping that I'm going to be able to start my slow progress again ... because any progress would be good! Have a good day everyone! :flowerforyou:
