    I like Rush! I should try this...their music is pretty cerebral, might pick me up a cute music nerd :blushing:

    We saw them a few months ago, they are amazing. And believe me, there were about 95% men there and the other 5 percent were women there with a man.

    And to everyone else, there is nothing wrong with wanting a bf. She has been out of dating for 5 years, not 5 minutes. It is nice having someone to share your life with.

    And to the OP, I found my man in a place where I was not looking. I also have to say that had I not been in a horrible relationship with someone before him I probably would not have given him a chance. Why? Because he is one of those really really nice guys that most girls like me get sick of easily. I will have to say that after 12 years of marriage and being in our mid to late 40s there is something to be said for picking the nice guy. Its much nicer to be married to him than the bad boy aka *kitten*.

    In all seriousness- it's time.

    I've been off the market/out of the game for the last 5+ years and now it's a foreign event.

    I'm not sure how to meet people, how to broach the subject of having a baby, and how much if it is just for fun versus seriousness.

    And what's the etiquette on gym flirting? I'm usually in my own world under the barbell but the gym is one of the only places I regularly visit where I'm in mixed company, soooooo...

    OK, You're actually more attractive than I expected so I am going to answer seriously.

    #1 - Do not bring up your baby intentionally......but also do not keep it out of communication. If it comes up it comes up but don't force it. Basically you don't want to force it because you don't want him to think you are looking for a daddy for your baby or a serious commitment. You don't want to hide it because guys are either cool with it or they aren't. If they aren't you don't want to waste your time.

    #2 - Gym flirting is fine but it is different. Smile......make eye contact......You'll be able to tell if he's interested. (look for a wedding ring....some guys are just friendly). Ask him for a spot.......chat a bit. See if it's forced.

    #3 - Have you thought about on-line dating to at least meet some people? School/Workplace? Can you go out with some girlfriends and see if you meet anyone?

    #4 - Just be yourself......You are an attractive girl in good shape. Unless you are a total nutjob (which I don't think you are from your postings), I don't think you will have much trouble meeting guys. I think the biggest thing is finding one you are compatible with.

    MFP has plenty of amazing men and women, FWIW. many of the slightly demented, intelligent, sexy, and hilarious ones are on my FL. i would easily date a few if they lived closer. that being said, i hope you don't actually NEED a boyfriend and rather WANT one to add to your life, not complete it. just my $.02. i'm single and would very much like to find a man for a lasting relationship but i'm in no rush to force anything.

    Meet someone doing what you love to do. You will instantly have a connection and something to talk about.
    I don't see why meeting someone on mfp would be a bad thing if you both are here for fitness reasons and seeking a significant other it can turn out to be a great thing. But if you run 5ks try finding someone there, if you do volunteer work maybe you will meet the most amazing caring guy there, or whatever hobby you have at the music shop, tea shop, ect... enter your personal choice.
